Raquel has changed our lives!!! She came out to work with our German Shepherd, who we found out was highly prey-driven, and quite a bit neurotic. She helped us understand her behaviors, and what we could do to redirect her. She spent two and a half hours with us, and it was money well spent! We didn't want to post our review right away, to make sure the training stuck. I have to say, we, and our dog, have retained what we learned in one session with Raquel, and the change has been dramatic. Walks are extremely enjoyable now, not a tug-of-war, like they used to be. Our dog knows her limits, and we really only correct her occasionally now. We are forever grateful for the knowledge and expertise that Raquel imparted to us and our dog. We highly recommend her services to anyone in need of a GREAT trainer!
We called Dee Cee because our daughter's new 3 month old Gampr puppy and our 5 year old Australian Shepherd could NOT get along. It was causing an incredible amount of tension in our home and the dogs were both extremely stressed. Our Aussie and the puppy could not be in the same room at the same time and if they were there was a fight. I wish I could say all of the fights have stopped, we remain a work in progress. But after just one visit our doggies are friendly. They share toys, space and this morning they even shared a doggie bed! THIS would not have happened last week.. Thank you!! DeeCee for your help and expertise. Everyone is AMAZED.
She is great with my German Shepherd puppy. Harley is so attentive to her! If i have any questions between classes I can call or text her and she answers quickly! Gives great advice and ideas. Very supportive! HIGHLY recommend!
Duane was outstanding. He really knows his trade. I needed help with a very anxious and aggressive German Shepherd. With in one session he had My dog corrected and he was the sweetest dog ever met. By session 2 and three he dog was playing in the dog park with other dogs and socializing. By session 4 I was able to take them to the restaurant where dog owners were allowed to bring their pets ...and I was so proud of as he was best behaved dog there. I was in fact even complimented on how well behaved my dog was. This would not of been possible without a great trainer. I was a little reluctant initially because his rate seemed a bit higher than his counterparts. But then again you get what you pay for. When you break it down on the hourly perspective he's not that much more expensive. I got a "Bentley" as opposed to a "Toyota Tercel"...thanks Duane you're awesome and not a hyped up television dog trainer...Its the real deal.
I first met Robert back in 1994, when he was living here in Lancaster, CA. At the time, I owned a pair of dogs - Sheba, a Bavarian Shepherd, and Princess, a Lab/Chow mix. As a loyal fan of the "Lassie" movies and TV series', I was well aware of the Weatherwax Family's "pedigree" (pardon the pun) with regard to dog training. So when Robert offered his assistance with the training of my animals, I jumped at the opportunity! The thing I remember most, is a statement he made before any training began. Robert told me that he would train ME to train my dogs, believing it was best for them to learn commands from me, their owner, not some stranger. His training methods were clever, patient, humane and well-thought-out, and worked like a charm. Soon, both dogs were well-behaved and obedient, following commands based on hand-signals only (a common practice with TV and movie animals)! While both dogs benefitted tremendously, Princess truly excelled, at one time able to follow nearly 20 different commands! All on hand-signals! Sadly, both dogs are long-gone to Doggy Heaven, but I've never forgotten them or the training methods I learned from Robert. I cannot offer a higher recommendation.
It doesn't get any better than Cassidy's Care! I love my little Sweetpea so much, it's so important to find someone with a super big heart for animals. Well, Cassidy is so respectful to animals and others. I am so grateful to have had countless overnights and even a few times, Sweetpea has had to even stay days at a time. Cassidy has a clean, tidy and loving home which is Sweetpeas home away from home. The big bonus is Cassidy is a dog trainer too! Sweetpea continues to improve on all levels each and every time she's been in Cassidys care. On a personal note, I love Cassidy's sense of humor, oh goodness, I'm always smiling around Cassidy! That joy is also good for animals too :))) If youre looking for the very best, Cassidy is it!
Daniel really knows his stuff. We now have 2 happy and friendly German shepherds. All the advice we received on introducing a new dog to our family worked. After 3 hrs of training session and about 7 days of follow the steps/advise….from walking w/muzzles, walking 20 feet apart, and finally walking side by side with no aggression, Max (new dog) and Foxy accepted each other. We are very happy with the success we had and we highly recom’d Daniel to work with your dogs.
Christina and I would like to thank you for the wonderful job you and your associates did with our 1 year old German Shepherd Dog "Jack". When we brought him to you , he had a strong, independent spirit and we had difficulty getting him to know what we expected of him. We choose to board him with you rather than commit to several weekly lessons. We were pleased with our decision. You delivered a well- behaved, disciplined dog, who's spirt had not been broken yet with a heart for obedience. Your "Fun, Fair, and Firm" system was easy to learn. Jack is now a joy to have in our home, as protector and companion. If anyone should wish for names and /or numbers for a reference , please do not hesitate to give them our name and number.
Sally was my absolute savior! I had to leave out of town, last minute, and was gone for close to a week. I entrusted Sally with keys to my home even though we just met hours before my departure. She was great with the animals, came over more times than we originally agreed to, and cleaned up after the animals when one of them had an incredible mess :( I cannot stop raving about Sally! She not only "saved" me by taking care of my three dogs: Great Pyrenees (120 lbs), German Shepherd (100 lbs) and Minpin...but she also garnered a client for life!
In one week my shepherd mix puppies are already 100% more manageable. We have a schedule and routine which works for all of us and the puppies are doing great!
My wife and I contacted Kimberlee and several other trainers for help with our now five-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer, Abby. We got Abby from a rescue to be a companion for our four-year-old Viszla who could match his energy, and - oh boy - we overshot the mark. We chose Kimberly because of her detailed and personalized initial response to our reaching out for help. Abby is extremely high energy, and, though we exercise the dogs a lot, this manifested as an over-the-top nervous energy, with shaking, spinning, yipping, and an otherwise delightful vibrating tail. She was also fearful of new situations and noises. We boarded Abby with Kimberlee for an extended period, and followed this with home visits to track progress and train both us and Abby. Kimberlee was very patient, caring, and skilled at harnessing Abby's energy in a positive way. She adapted her approach as appropriate to find out what works best for Abby, and adjusted her training plan based on what she observed at the home visits. She equipped us with better strategies for short-circuiting Abby's obsessive behaviors. Now four months in, we are delighted with the result, and wholeheartedly recommend The Trained Canine.
Love Ur K9 is the best decision I ever made for my Mini Australian Shepherd, Camo. I cannot say enough how good they have been to me, and my dog. I am forever grateful for everything they have done for us. Here's the full story: I heard about Kevin through a friend who had a great experience after her dog was trained by Kevin. I was looking for a dog trainer who could not only help with obedience training my three month old puppy, but also work on some dominance behavior issues. I had read so many books on raising a puppy, and also grew up in a family with many dogs so I thought I knew what I was doing. Our first meeting with Kevin was in our home, where he met Camo, and got a better understanding of our home setup and routines. It is also where Camo was comfortable and displaying some early signs of dominant behavior. Kevin immediately picked up on this and made some changes to the way in which we interact with Camo. We started puppy behavior and obedience training that same week. Kevin also trained us as handlers, so that we understood the training and could repeat it at home, that way Camo would not be able to default back to bad behaviour. When Camo was 9 months old, we heard that we had to move to Australia for my husband's work. There was no way that I could make the move without Camo. Australia is extremely strict with importing pets, and theres a six month intensive preparation of vet checks, and massive costs involved before dogs are allowed to enter the country. We had to leave two months after we heard the news so we had to make a plan for Camo in the meant time. Kevin took Camo into his home for four months, looking after him, doing service dog training with him, and helping with many arrangements to get Camo reunited with us. Camo joined us in Australia in June and I am elated to have my best friend back by my side once again. He is still full of personality, but by far the most obedient, trained and socialised dog in Melbourne!!! THANK YOU Love Ur K9, from the bottom of our hearts!!!
Vince, Matt and Olivia are absolutely the best! I've had other training, but Epic truly defines the art of proper dog training with amazing results. They have been training my German Shepard for a few weeks and the results have been unbelievable. Sasha absolutely loves Matt! Thank you! Roger, Tustin Ca
Great experience with DogWood K9!!! Ron has helped us train our German shepherd puppy so well! She walks without pulling, doesn't jump, doesn't bite, is well behaved around other dogs and can walk without a leash taking voice commands from us! Couldn't be happier!! Thank you Dogwood K9 training!!!
If I could leave more stars, I would. Daryl worked with our German Shepherd Lexi who was a rescue with severe fear and aggression issues. Daryl worked with Lexi and our family so we could provide the best environment for Lexi. We were able to enjoy our pet and Lexi became more confident and less stressed. We continued our training and are in contact with Daryl. Daryl is honest with his assessment and will not sugar coat anything. Lexi was never afraid of Daryl and I could see the bond and respect they had for each other. Whether basic training, fear or aggression issues or whatever you need, Daryl and his crew at America's Best Dog Trainers will be there to help because they genuinely care for your animal and its wellbeing. Thank you for helping our family. Please don't hesitate to call him.
Daniele not only helped improve the overall health of my Golden Retriever but she also provided me with the tools & knowledge to handle her anxiety issues. Now Jasmin is a very healthy & sassy 13 yo!! Daniele also helped create an even stronger family bond with my 3 1/2 yo German Shepherd mix by addressing some of his behavioral issues. Daniele has always made herself available in emergency situations and never hesitates to go the extra mile. She is a true animal lover and we are very thankful to have her in our lives.
I have a year old German Shepard who was really hard to walk and consistently pulled and throw tantrums but after on session my dog (Leo) changed. He showed me how to walk him and what to do in case he acts out. He was really patient and professional and I wan very happy with the outcome.
Before Karin, I had a dog and human aggressive German Shepherd Husky mix. Layla would react to every single dog that we saw when we were on walks which made it very difficult to walk her. As for people, when someone got to close she'd snap and lunge at them. We did a 3 week board and train program with Karin and was probably the best decision I made. We had gone through a couple of trainers and finally found the right one. Layla now walks and ignores any dog we pass and people can come up to us and talk without her reacting. Not only does Karin help you with your dog but she also explains what you, as the handler, need to work on. Even after the board and train, advance group class is available to continue working with your dog around a controlled environment. Needless to say, we're happy we found her. Definitely a well knowledge and amazing trainer.
Kate has been working with me and my over reactive German Shepherd Max. She has dramatically improved a behavioral issue with other dogs which at times I felt was hopeless. She has accomished huge results in a short period of time with kindness and patience. Her knowledge of dog behavior is very impressive and she is a pleasure to work with. Max loves her! She is a true professional and really cares about you and your dog. I have no doubt Max would not have made the progress he has if it weren't for Kate!
Jen is currently training my 2 German Shepherd puppies. She has great knowledge of how to handle animals and get a desired response from them. She is very dependable and my puppies race to meet her. They enjoy the lessons and I can see the progress they are making in getting manners. We love Jen!
We had a great experience with Dianne Lawrence when she gave our puppy (mixed german shepherd/lab) obedience training including walking on a leash and most important, teaching the dog how to behave around people and other dogs. Her style is gentle, but firm, and commands respect from the dog without being harsh. She also focuses on the human relationship with the dog and makes you understand your role in the dog's behavior. Dianne's focus is not to personally train the dog, but to teach you as a dog owner to train the dog. Along with the general obedience training, Dianne also taught us how to train our dog to sit, lie down, come, and stay. We have nothing but positive things to say about Dianne and recommend her wholeheartedly as a fantastic dog trainer. Our dog loved Dianne, and was eagerly wagging his tail every time he saw her.
