They were a pleasure to work with! Hired MS for a yard cleanup (mulch, weed block, and pulling weeds) and they did an excellent job! Will definitely recommend MS to friends and family. The job was done quickly and meticulously.

We found CRC through thumbtack when we posted a yard clean up project (weeding, pruning and mowing). Carlos came out to look at the area of work and gave us a great quote. We were then scheduled in within a few days. CRC did a fantastic and thorough job and we couldn't be happier with the work. Our yard looks great!

Ted and his team were incredible to work with - I would definitely work with them again and cannot recommend him enough. He was thoughtful in helping us move a bunch of mulch in our backyard area, and installing sprinklers and sod to seriously improve our use of the space. Thanks so much Ted!

Pablo did a great job removing all the dead plants in our garden beds, cleaning up the overgrown plants and pruning two lemon trees. He also added mulch to the beds and straightened out some sagging edging. Very happy with the results. Will definitely hire him again.

Marin is a pro! I had not felt comfortable going into my backyard due to overgrown weeds and stray cats that took over. He took down my garden beds, got out all the weeds, tree stumps and layed down tarp and mulch. He was very thorough with his work and I could tell that he has a passion for what he does.

Ricardo and Jose did a great job cleaning up the front of property by removing unwanted sod and adding red mulch to give a pop of color! They also cleaned up 20 pom pom trees and made them nice and round again. Weeding was done around the property and we are now planning on what to do in Phase 2 of shrub clean up, updating rock mulch and tree stump removal.

I had mulch added in the backyard and a number of plants in the front. Everything looked great and the men did work as expected. The price was very reasonable to say the least. They showed up on time and got right to work. Will hire again as I have another project coming.

Diolino was great - super professional, friendly, fast, and most of all did a fantastic job! We're thinking of rebuilding our deck, so we'll likely call him again once we decide on the layout. :)

Absolutely terrible service. I asked for my yard to be weeded, covered in canvas, and then mulched. I got my yard weeded and mulched, but the canvas covering never came. I paid in advance because I had to go to work while the workers were taking care of my yard only to come home and see that the job I asked for was only half done. When I contacted Zarate and mentioned this, they kept saying "we'll stop by and give you a cash refund". I asked them several times when this would happen and continued to get no response. AVOID ZARATE! They basically took an extra $300 from me and are avoiding giving it back.

Agustin Beas completed an awesome job on my front and back yard. He is very flexible and open. My estimate for the mulch quantity was not exactly right, but he was willing to make additional trip to the landscape supply place. His work is very detail oriented and the finish was flawless. I will definitely use him for future pruning and any additional garden work. Thanks.

We hired Dave to do a medium sized job at our home. It was what I would call a "landscape refresh/repair". We had another landscaper do some work a couple of years back and it looked great at first but quickly because a major issue as the lawn was dying and the flagstone he installed started falling apart within a very short period of time. We tried on a number of occasions to get the other landscaper to come back and fix his work but he never did. So, I finally came to Thumbtack, interviewed a number of possible landscapers and landed on Dave. This time, as a way of protecting ourselves from our last experience I asked Dave to sign a contract prior to starting. He was totally willing to do that which gave me some peace of mind. He got started when he said he would and overall the project went very smooth. First I'll list the positives from our experience: • Job was done in a reasonable amount of time and the end result is beautiful! • Dave stayed within the budget we set • He did some little extras for us which were greatly appreciated like building a redwood box to cover our sprinkler valves and added some soil around our front yard fence posts to even out the grade of the lawn. • He was selected very nice looking plants for us, with minimal direction from me, and chose larger size plants to give it a better look to start out and also to give the plants a better chance of surviving. Landscapers we have used in the past plan 4" plants instead of 1 gallon to save money but many of them die within the first couple of weeks. • He will continue to come by and keep tabs on how things are growing and make sure nothing dies right out of the gate. • He came up with innovative solutions to some of our irrigation issues Here are a couple of things that were less than perfect: • There were a couple of miscommunications between Dave and the guy who was doing the work. One of those led to a very frustrating couple of hours for my husband who had to dig out a bunch of new soil and mulch in order to find disconnect speaker and lighting wires and repair them even though the worked knew that those wires were disconnected. Instead, the worker should have waited to cover those areas until the wires were fixed. Dave handled this well though and worked with my husband on getting the issue resolved. All in all, we were very happy with Dave and his team. They were clean, courteous and did quality work. I will update again in a few weeks with how things are growing.

I hired Guillermo to do my yard maintenance. He arrived when he said he would, was very easy to communicate with, and gave me a very reasonable price. I have a very small front yard and a huge back yard, both of which are weeds instead of grass. He is doing a good job of gradually clearing out the weeds while keeping the area trimmed to a manageable height. I look forward to continuing to see the progress of the yard.

All Around the Garden installed drought tolerant landscaping for my front yard. They cleaned out the remnants of a dead lawn, installed a drip system, planted shrubs and ground cover and spread mulch. They did the whole job in one day at the start of a heat wave. I was worried that the heat would kill my new plants but all survived and are thriving four months later. The guys were easy to work with and they delivered what they promised.

We were looking for a gardener to overhaul our backyard in advance of our home wedding. Although Pete found me on Thumbtack, turns out that he does several houses in our neighborhood. He came by to take a look at our backyard so that he could put an estimate/proposal together, free of charge. The estimate was reasonable, and he was very nice, so we decided to hire him. We love our backyard! It looks completely different and only took two days. Pete and his crew did a very thorough cleanup of our neglected plant beds and overgrown ivy. They removed some plants we didn't like, moved around others that we wanted to keep, planted flowers and put down mulch. They even built a chuppah for our wedding! We are very pleased with his work, and he even offered to come by right before the wedding to make sure that everything is perfect. That's great customer service.

Roy Curincita Jr. has been providing outstanding landscaping services for my wife and me for about two decades. It is not an exaggeration to say that we consider him a highly trusted resource -- an extension of our family. Roy is a talented listener who shapes our gardening ideas into a pleasant reality through his energy, expertise, and suggestions. He and his son Jesse confidently offer a talented range of weekly gardening services to ensure that our property remains neat, healthy, and eye-catching. We often receive compliments on the appearance of our yard -- the public "curb appeal" as well as the private enjoyment of our back yard space with friends. The weekly maintenance is both reliable and timely and allows us to properly dispose of the compostable yard waste to conform to the city's scheduled pick-up. He readily offers recommendations for watering and pruning to ensure the liveliness of our plants. In addition to routine yard upkeep including fertilizing and aerating the lawn, Roy and Jesse are readily available for miscellaneous household projects scheduled separately where they do a much better job than I could perform: spreading mulch, trimming hedges, clearing gutters, power washing our driveway and porch. I would wholeheartedly recommend Curincita Gardening Service for a homeowner who needs the reassurance that quality and value will be delivered reliably and expertly.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have your lawn mowed?

Regular lawn maintenance can do wonders for your home’s curb appeal. Professional lawn care prices will vary based on the regional cost to do business and regional cost of labor, the size of your lawn, and any additional services you may desire such as edging or mulching. The national average for lawn mowing costs is $30-$50. Pros may charge an hourly rate, a flat rate or by the square foot (an acre contains 43,560 square feet). Square footage rates factor in the professional’s time, the use of their equipment, and the gas to operate the mower. Distance may also affect cost: If you live outside the company’s standard service range, you may pay an additional travel fee. Here are some examples of average prices for mowing and lawn maintenance:

  • Up to 8,000-square-foot property: $30 per week/$120 per month.
    • Bimonthly: $40 per service/$80 per month.
    • One time only: $45 per service.
      • Prices include mowing all turf grass areas; trimming grass away from fences, structures, trees, and lawn edges; and clearing or blowing all grass trimmings from driveways, sidewalks, curbs, etc.
  • Hourly rate: $25 per hour (including travel, equipment costs and labor).
  • Lot size:
    • Smaller lots in subdivisions: $35.
    • Half-acre lot: $50.
    • One-acre lot: $100.
