Needed my gutter cleaned before the big rain storms. Preston was very quick to respond with his credentials and a competitive price. I selected him mainly because he was very responsive to my questions, and he also carries his own liability insurance which is very important and he also educated me on the need of a licence/bond in California for a general handyman which I was appreciative of. (Preston, you may want state and to include your insurance information on your website, as that is a key selling point for anyone hiring someone to do work around their property). They use a service that texts you when you book them, when they are on the way, and when the job is complete so you are informed at every stage of the service. He arrived a bit late and was appologetic and got straight to work. He knew exactly what he needed to do and did it in a quick and professional manner. I even got an official invoice by email. Will use him again in the future and would not hesitate to recommend him. Thanks for helping me out!
gutter clean / fence gate repair. Great job and will call again when needed
If I could give Star's Cleaning 10 stars, I would. The work they did was INCREDIBLE!!! I have a 3k square foot home that took 5 guys and 9 hours to clean. Now my home Sparkles! They power washed the exterior, cleaned all windows inside and out, scrubbed 17 vertical blind sets, cleaned light fixtures, baseboards, doors/jambs in the entire house. Not to mention cleaning 4 bathrooms and the kitchen from "stem to stern". Short of cleaning the carpets, they did it all. I was most impressed with their Professionalism, Friendliness, Knowledge and strong Work Ethic. Most of all, I was thrilled with their punctuality. They were here on time!!! I strongly recommend Star's Cleaning to anyone, be it general cleaning or deep cleaning as my house was. Thanks Star. You and your guys the BEST!!!!
My first initial conversation was great with Jose. He said he wanted to beat a previous quote ($180 house clean only) that I was given. Provided his reviews and the offer, I accepted. We set a time for him to preview the home that needed the move out cleaning and I learned then that he also offered carpet cleaning as well. So I asked him to quote that too. He came and gave me the updated price of 200 for the cleaning and 100 for carpet cleaning. I stated that the property needed to be completed before the 9th which was the day my client/sister needed to hand over her keys. So we scheduled for the 7th at 8 am. On the 6th I called Jose to confirm since I didn't not get a reminder from him. When we spoke he thought our appointment was for the 9th. I reminded him it was tomorrow the 7th 8 am. He said he wasn't able to do it at that time anymore and if I could please be okay with the 8th. I, at that point, was already having concerns now for my client/sister. After discussing the new date with her we agreed to move forward and go with the new date of the 8th at 1pm for cleaners and approx. 4pm for carpets. The next day i got a call again thst his original clea ers were not able to make it nut that he was syill anle to get a replacement crew. OK fine I guess. No changes in time or anything. The cleaning crew came as expected and were great. They seemed very hard working. I had stopped in through out the cleaning time frame and handed the crew leader the $200 portion for the cleaning only and asked her to text or call me when carpet guy arrived. Instead I received a call yet again from Jose saying the carpet cleaner can only do the 9th. I was upset but he made me feel at ease by saying they would be there 8 am sharp and done within a couple hours. The next morning i chatted with Jose and my client to confirm them meeting each other on site to complete the carpets. At that point I remembered that my client/sister had asked me to have them do a quick run over with the cleaning machine on a small area rug. Jose said he'd have to see it but that it would be about an extra 40 bucks. Which rationally seemed a bit high. I told him that it was only small and that he could discuss that portion with my client/sister. In the end i left everything to my sister because she was the one who was going to pay for the carpet cleaning part. When I called later on that afternoon to see how things went, she seemed frustrated that her total came out to $180. It turned out that Jose said to her that when he initially came out he didn't realized how bad the carpet was because the furniture was there which is not entirely true because he came for quotes when we were 3/4 of the way moved out. I became very mad and immediately text Jose that he better not try to hustle more money out of my clients/sister. I've then found out that she had actually already paid him the money and that the carpet cleaners were already done and it was too late. Jose had tried to reach me the following day regarding my text and I did decline his calls as I did not want to hear the excuses and was over it. He did offer to discount any next job because I had told him I am a realtor and would refer him out to many other jobs. I'm really bummed that this was such a difficult process therefore I am worried to use him again. Maybe I'll give him a shot at something more simple next time. But a move out cleaning and carpets cleaned seems pretty simple to me. Just appears to be some lack of structure with his business.
You know how they say when it rains, it pours? Well... El Nino Rains plus our 30+ Year Old House equals ROOF LEAK. We needed a Roofer. We got three referrals here on Thumbtack. Of those three referrals, it was obvious that Erik Havens and his Advanced RoofLeak Solutions business was the roofer we should go with. Doing our own research on the referrals, we found that Erik's business Advanced RoofLeak Solutions Inc. is definitely a licensed contractor whose contractor's license is, yes, actually for roofing. The state contractors database confirms this. Also, we noted that Erik's roofing business is an "Inc." meaning his business is incorporated as a corporation. We liked that because to us that meant Erik most possibly had a smart stable business. The state corporate database confirmed his business' active corporate status. As for Erik himself, don't let his youthful looks make you wonder about his experience. This 30 year old guy knows his stuff. Roofing runs in his family. Erik has been working in roofing since high school. My impression is that Erik knows how to run a quality roofing business. He is very respectful and honest when dealing with his customers. And he takes pride in his work and is thankful for his customers hiring him to do the work. We never met Erik before. But if you talk to him for a while, then you may see the same forthright excellence that we see in Erik. So, what did Erik do for us? We had a leak in the roof. This was for the roof on top of the garage for our 30+ year old house which has a red tile roof. Erik went up onto the roof with his ladder and immediately pointed out a row of tiles that were sliding down opening up an exposed area where the rain came in. That exposed area then affected an 8-ft by 8-ft area. That effect was obvious to us from inside the garage looking up at the underside of the roof where we can see a big wet stained area. Erik's work included disassembling the tiles for that section on top of the roof, putting in new underlayment material, applying roof mastic sealant, and then reassembling the red tiles back in properly aligned rows. (And there were lots of hammer pounding and other loud noise while he was working up there on the roof.) And afterwards, while he was still up there, Erik additionally checked the rest of the roof, he resealed any vent pipes (and whatever else) that needed new sealant, also checked the stability of the sun roof up there, and looked for any other potential problem tiles that could possibly be sliding out of place. There were a few other tiles beginning to slide down a bit. Sliding tiles seem to be a typical potential problem for old tile roofs. Erik secured those few other tiles pushing them back into place. Erik said the underlayment for those few other tiles was still fine. One other thing that Erik did was to clean out the gutters and make sure they were secure. Yes, imagine that: a 30+ year old house with gutters that have never been cleaned out until now. One of the gutters on the second story roof was full of leaves. Erik cleaned that out. So, Erik did a really complete job and more! My impression is that Erik is a busy roofer who is in demand. In my conversations with Erik while he was up on the roof, with myself watching him from down below, Erik mentioned how the El Nino Rains and Winds have been bringing him so much business going his way. (My guess is that this was even before El Nino as people wanted to secure their roofs in time for when El Nino arrives.) Yeah, Erik is apparently very very busy. Meanwhile, our neighbor was also looking up watching Erik and was apparently interested in also hiring Erik to work on his roof, and ended up having their own conversation as to when Erik would look at the neighbor's roof. So, Erik is apparently a busy guy, who does quality work, and is in demand. He works on roofs all over San Diego County. He goes wherever the work is located. If you are considering whether to hire Erik, we would strongly say that based on our experience to give him a call or to send him a message here via Thumbtack. Also, definitely give him your phone number and your address so he can figure out when to schedule a visit to actually look at your roof in order to give you a proposed written estimate. Erik's proposal for fixing OUR roof was a good reasonable fair price. My suggestion is to NOT go cheap in repairing your roof. The two other referrals that we got from Thumbtack would have been cheaper and would have undercut Erik's proposal where one thumbtack referral was from an unlicensed roofer who was not in the state contractors database and the other thumbtack referral was from a solar guy whose contractor's license was for electrical. For our roof, we were willing to pay a little more for a quality roof repair by a licensed experienced roofer (whose contractor's license was actually for roofing) and we expected the roofer to stand behind his work. And we indeed got a qualified licensed experienced roofer in Erik Havens and his Advanced RoofLeak Solutions business. Thanks Erik.
Company responded to my request for window cleaning quickly and the crew did a wonderful job!!
Kevin did an excellent job for us. Even our landlord was happy. We highly recommend Kevin for your window cleaning needs!
Phil was great. Fixed a rain gutter issue I was having. Professional, excellent work and I highly recommend him.
Miguel came out to do the repairs very quickly. Did a great job removing and installing a kitchen faucet. Also repaired a leaking toilet. His rate was very reasonable. Would not hesitate to use him again.
Guys did a great job. Showed up and worked hard. Cleaned up each day. Job looks amazing!!
Turned up on time. Did really good work. removed all dry rot, replaced, sealed and painted new wood trim which had to be cut to size and fit. Gave good advice on maintenance care. Kept to price which was good. Also made a helpful inspection of other areas of concern and quoted same day for those repairs.Left everything clean and tidy.
He fixed my garbage disposal in about three minutes. I was charged $75.
Jerry was very easy to work with. He texted me back immediately when I texted him and was very flexible with scheduling (which has been my issue with other landscaping companies). He did a great job cleaning up my yard for a reasonable price. I will use him again.
Mike did an absolutely amazing job for my mother. She had a front and rear lawn that hadn't seen any attention for over a year. The weeds were approaching 5 feet in height. Mike did everything we asked him to do while staying within his original estimate. He's arrived on time, worked hard and did an excellent job cleaning up. We will definitely be contacting him again to do more work on the yard. Below are before and after photos of the backyard. Thanks Mike!
On time, clean, and efficient.
We were very pleased with the quality of service and the friendliness of Stephen and Paul and their crew when they came to clean our windows yesterday. They were prompt and efficient and took special care in the areas where we told them we had concerns from previous window cleaning experiences. My husband has very high expectations and he even used the word "fastidious" -- which is a huge compliment coming from him! We would definitely recommend them and will definitely use them again.
Josh and his crew are highly professional, friendly, arrive on time and their work is great! I have used them several times and am always very pleased with the results plus the price is fair. My windows sparkle! I have also used their Soft Wash process and loved the results. Our house exterior paint looked new again, as did the gutters and sidewalk cement.
Ascension window washing is my go to for residential service. They do Incedible work for an affordable rate. They value a true relationship with me as a customer. Always on time and I recommend them to all my friends who own homes that need residential services like window cleaning and power washing
Jeremy was excellent. He was very quick and friendly. I'd hire him again and use his window cleaning services.
