I'm an intermediate guitar player and i ecided i wanted lessons to further my approach to music, and as soon as i saw and spoke to paul i knew i was going to be taught by someone who knew what they were doing. Paul has a very knowledgeable and proficient approach to music theory and knows how to break it down step by step. An added bonus is that he knows how to add some humor to the lesson so you aren't just sitting and learning. I would say paul is the best private instructor i found thus far.
New to vocal lessons my goal was to learn about my voice and the skills necessary to sing the genre of music relative to me, I struck gold when I found Richard. Richard's expertise and experience has allowed me to find my voice and understand how to use it. I feel much more confident about singing after each lesson, with Richard I'm always on my way to reaching my goals. Great coach great person!
Excellent piano lessons! I've learned lots of skills in Stephanies piano lessons!
Great Teacher! His playing demonstrates a profound knowledge of his instrument. Whether hes teaching you new techniques, chords and inversions, different styles of playing, or the basics of music theory, the lessons are presented in a way tangible to the student. He is better than any guitar player I've seen, so he can take you to the next level if you are already good, or he can help you as a beginner like me.
I took private lessons with Paul and he was also the instructor/coach for a beginning jazz ensemble class that I took through Broadway Music School. I must say, Paul is an outstanding instructor! He really knows how to tailor lessons to each individual students' needs, and actually develops and uses his own original teaching materials. He has a laid-back, unintimidating teaching style that really helps students feel comfortable, which I think is extremely important when you're learning music. Also Paul can help players of any skill level improve: I had played guitar for 10+ years before taking lessons with him, and was amazed at how much I learned in just a short time. Unfortunately, I had to move away from Denver and can no longer take lessons from Paul, but the materials he gave me to practice will be plenty to keep me busy for a long time. I highly recommend Paul as an instructor, and if you have an opportunity to see him play live it is well worth it!
We chose Emo to work with my 11 year old daughter via Skype for voice lessons. She was really nervous to have her very first voice lesson over Skype, and with a stranger, but Emo quickly put her at ease. He’s patient, encouraging, positive, and also really uses the 30 minutes fully. He wasn’t the cheapest vocal coach to respond to my thumbtack but he really knows what he’s doing and maximizes the 30 minute lesson. My daughter is really happy with him as her teacher and so am I!
Everything!!!! Brian is crazy skilled! I had mostly taught myself guitar when I started, and decided it was time to take private lessons - to take it up a notch. Brian came up with a plan - and we jumped on it. From day 1, kept me busy hrs on end - practice is the key. Patient and down to earth - do I recommend Brian? YES!!! Please give him a call - he's worked with my crazy schedule and has been able to accommodate me.
I have been taking voice lessons from Lou Savage for a few months now he is excellent. He has a great way of referencing a movie or describing a great meal or talking about how a sailboat sails on the water, and how these references can influence singing and learning how to use one's voice in performing. I have really enjoy my time with him. Thank you for everything Lou.
I am 57 years old (no Spring chicken) and came to Thomas for tenor sax lessons. My purpose is to perform and record sax solos for classic rock and blues. Thomas does a great job with understanding my goals and giving me a road map to achieve them. Very patient and intuitive.
For anyone looking for top quality and someone that knows what there doing when it comes to production and recording; I highly recommend Chris. I was very pleased with the music he done for me. He has the experience and is very reasonable with his prices.
We have a child diagnosed with slight autism. We decided to get a private teacher at home due to the experience of a teacher bullying him in a music school located in Chino. Mr. Garcia has all the patience in teaching our son and he knows how to adjust his teaching lessons with him. Our son is always excited to get music lessons with him. Mr. Garcia is also teaching our 18 y/o daughter guitar. And she is always happy and contented with his teaching techniques. Thank you for doing a great job with my children.
Michael, from my first lesson was so attentive to what I wanted to learn. Kind of in passing, I told him that I loved to sing but was afraid to so he really coaxed me to sing along to all the guitar songs I was learning (I really do not think that any other guitar teacher would have bothered...like "not my job". But, not Michael, he took that on as his job because he recognized that it was important to me). Likewise, when I would show an interest in a particular type of music (i.e. I like acoustic and more mellow, verging on country even), he found songs like that for me and he taught me my songs I had picked even though I doubt that they would have been his picks. In summary, he wanted me to relate to and enjoy the music; the lessons are all about what I want to get out of them...with professional guidance along the way as well. The other thing I want to definitely mention is that, Michael is top-knotch, professional and KNOWS music. He encouraged me to not only learn songs to play but to understand the theory of the music in those songs. I feel very proficient in music theory after taking classes with Michael. I not only play the stuff but I "get it." I understand the technical theory involved. I really think that this is something not every guitar teacher brings to the table or encourages. Many just do not know it! With Michael, we can move from guitar to piano so that he can illustrate something about chords in a key or the difference between major, minor, dominant and diminished chords. Bottom line, I have fun during my lesson but I learn so much more than memorizing chord shapes on the guitar. And, when I play and sing a song...well, it really feels great! Honestly, he is the BEST! He just cares so much about you learning all you can regarding music and he knows how to teach it so that you get to understand what can at first seem so unfamiliar. Michael has the holistic approach. He makes music familiar, logical, relatable and, most of all, Enjoyable. As his student, thumbs-up!
I have been taking guitar lessons from Kimberly via Skype for about six years. I really like her teaching style which is systematic and focused. She tailors her lessons to my goals and time. Her teaching method is to help you gain insight and skill through patient practice of gradually changing exercises. She doesn't snow you with theory, but presents it to you in digestible amounts just when it will make sense. She welcomes questions and I always learn from our discussions. She has led me to learn techniques on the guitar that I was absolutely sure I could never learn. For something to seem impossible at the start, to seem possible a week later and to be routine a month later is amazingly uplifting. Kimberly's background was first a life of teaching herself and playing gigs with all kinds of bands in all kinds of places. She has also deepened and strengthened her knowledge by gaining academic degrees in guitar and jazz and also by studying under masters. This gives her an incredibly deep understanding of learning and teaching music, an immense skill in playing guitar, and an appreciation for the challenges of playing with other people. I especially love her continued enthusiasm for guitar and that she really enjoys teaching. I have found in Kimberly the best of teachers and highly recommend her without reservation.
Mark is an outstanding teacher. We have found him to be extremely professional and knowledgeable. Most importantly, his style of teaching resonates very well our daughter. Under Marks instruction, her abilities have elevated, and she has better comprehension of her music. She is enjoying her lessons and practice a great deal more. I wholeheartedly recommend anyone taking lessons from Mark.
I am taking private lesson with Mike Smith. He is a very talented and patience guitar instructor.I am very happy with the quality of guitar lessons I have received from him so far. I highly recommend him to anybody who would like to take guitar lessons.
Kellen is a fantastic teacher who loves many styles of music. Lessons are a very fun and positive experience. I doubted my musical ability before we started, but now I'm feeling like I can do this.
Good person, and a wonderful teacher of English. She gives easy understandable lessons, from the first lesson I was able to understand my teacher. Thank You Linda:)
I've been working with Brian Gillet since 2011 to this present day. One of my fellow art classmates recommended Brian's services and I am so grateful for the chance to work with him on Private Voice Lessons. Brian helped me on so many levels with my voice technique, performance skills, and confidence within myself as a performer. I can honestly say that I am the performer that I am today because of Brian's help and guidance. His support and diligence on helping me with material is extremely important in a vocal coach. And you would be lucky to have the opportunity to work with such a fine teacher.
I just started taking lessons with Nolan. I have enjoyed my lessons. His way of teaching is encouraging and inspires me to want to learn. He is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. As a beginner, I highly recommend him.
Base is reliable, punctual, and jumps right in when he arrives! He is focused on the student and pushes them (even if shy) with kindness and humor to grow and learn. My daughter is 12 and really enjoying her vocal lessons with him. We think he's great!!
We miss Davie. Great piano and drum teacher. Enthusiastic and fun. Your child will love lessons with Davie.
