Movers were on time and well equipped with gear and supplies to move everything inside my apartment. Professional, friendly, hardworking guys. The move took exactly what it was estimated to take and there were no surprise costs. All around a good moving company. Will likely use again if I decide to move in the future.

Tony and his crew were outstanding. Tony was honest and fair, didn't try to upsell or add hidden charges, they showed up on time, and his team was very polite and efficient. Wrapped everything that need protecting, nothing was broken or damaged, no damage to the property. They thought about and asked about where things should be placed when they moved furniture in. Very professional, and exactly what you want in movers. Although I hope to not move again for a long time, these are the movers I'll call if I do.

All Round Professional Moving Company sent two guys to handle my long distance move. From Long Beach, CA to the Bay Area. I spent a lot of time talking to Jane who was extremely helpful and explained things like 'double-drive time.' One of the requests I had was that the movers pick my stuff up and drop it off the same day. It's about 5 1/2 hours driving time which they were able to accomodate. I agreed to pay a flat a rate of $1,700, and if the movers took longer than 6 hours to load and unload I would be charged additional fees per hour over. We agreed to have the movers start between 7 am - 7:30am. They should up at 7:45 which was fine because they started the time once they begun. The movers brought boxes, wardrobe boxes, blankets, plastic wrap, tape and dollies. I did most of the packing myself the night before. They used blankets and plastic wrap to protect my furniture. I offered them coffee and waters but they only wanted water. They didn't stop for breaks once. They finished loading at 9:20 am. They arrived at my new place at exactly 6pm. Unloaded within 2 hours so I wasn't charged extra hourly rates. The only thing could've gone better is the payment. When I booked the move I was charged a 50$ deposit to hold my appointment with them. I was told that I would be charged the flat fee we agreed upon later that day; but that didn't happen. Due to work I had to stay in Long Beach for a couple extra days so I did not follow them to my new home. My parents instead were there to help them out. Once the move was finished, the movers asked my parents to pay them. Then played phone tag for the next 20 minutes and spoke to three different people on when I was going to pay. One of the managers called me and said I needed to fill out a payment authorization form. Which I wasn't able to do because it was Sunday at 8pm and I didn't have a computer with me. Long story short I gave them my card number over the phone and had my parents fill out the rest of the form and then texted a picture of the form to the manager. It would've been easier if they had just charged me from the beginning or gave me the form to fill out when I saw them that morning. Other than that everything was great. I haven't seen or inspected my stuff yet but nothing was broken as far as I know! I would definitely hire them again!

Mike & his team were phenomenal! They far exceeded my expectations and took great care with my belongings during my long distance move from LA to SF. They came and packed up my apartment the day before the move, then loaded up the truck, drove to SF and unloaded the truck all in one day. I never imagined moving could be as painless as this move was! Thank you 5 Star Moving!

101 Relocation Services moved an upright piano to my new home, a few miles away from where I was living. Tony got back to me fast when I asked for a bid on Thumbtack and his bid was in the middle- not the most expensive, and not the cheapest. I based my decision on his positive reviews. Tony showed up on time with one assistant, Juan, and a lift truck with all the needed tools and supplies. They prepped the piano by wrapping it in moving blankets, shrink wrap, and mounting it on a slide board. This was a challenging move. The piano had to be carried up a flight of 12 stairs, turned 180 degrees on a small landing, then up a short flight to get it into the loft. I had doubts that it could be done because of the piano's weight (estimated 500 lbs) and bulk. Once getting to the house, Tony looked at the layout and promptly started. Moving a large, heavy piano in tight spaces requires skill and understanding of the strengths and limitations of the movers. Safety is the priority. Tony and Juan worked as a team throughout the move, and it was pleasure to how they worked together - no cussing, just sweating and grunting during the heavy lifts. No scratches in the wooden flooring; no dings on the walls. They cleaned up the worksites afterwards as well. Movers are often underappreciated. Difficult moves like mine separate the professionals from the mediocre. Tony and Juan are professionals, and I highly recommend 101 Relocation services for your next move. PS. Do yourself and the movers a favor by texting pictures of any tight spaces to the movers before they arrive. No one likes surprises!

Alex went above and beyond when helping us to move. He gave us a very reasonable quote. You don't need to look further with Alex’s quote, it would be the best. He has a very professional crew. They work very fast and very careful with the furniture. We had a few extra things towards the end to be put in, which require some hard disassembling and assembling. Alex just took on the tasks on gladly. Long distance moving can be very stressful. Alex made it much easier and pleasant. He responds fast and kept us posted about the progress on the road. I give him 100 percent for the job and strongly recommend him to anybody who needs the work done fast and reliably.

We had such a great experience! My husband and I did a long distance move from Los Angeles to Portland for law school. I was pretty nervous about which movers to go with — you are entrusting your entire life’s belongings with them so did extensive research on every option from large moving companies to PODS to UHauls. We were also pretty budget conscious so were shocked at the prices we kept getting back. But when I got the quote from I Need To Be Moved I was excited but honestly a little skeptical because of the affordability compared to everyone else. Plus I’ve dealt with so many scammers online I really wanted to do my due diligence. Their front office was incredibly kind and patient, answering all our questions, providing referrals and video testimonials that made us confident enough to move forward. The moving team was so professional. They clearly take their job very seriously and treated our belongings with the utmost care. The team even drove hours out of their way en route to Portland so as to avoid the wildfires (which we hadn’t even thought to ask about). I couldn’t recommend this company more. I know moving is a really high stress experience but I Need To Be Moved made the transition painless.

Absolutely satisfied with this experiences! I have 109 extra large boxes (already packed), 17 pieces of large furniture's, 2 Cali King mattresses, and a few small items like chair etc. moving distance about 67 miles. From 2nd floor to a 3rd floor, both with no elevator. Started the moving process at 8:30am, finished at 1pm. Guys seemed a little tired and hungry by the end, so we gave good tips. They estimated $1200 but we finished quicker than expected, final total bill is $800. Overall, they are very friendly and efficient, non-stop constantly. Work very hard! Absolutely appreciate their help! Will definitely come back and request their help in the future!

Ben Hur is the BEST! From the office staff to the "Gentle"man movers, they are ALL kind, thoughtful, efficient and care about your "stuff & things." They have been my/ my families movers for the last 5 moves, and have also stored my 16 vaults for almost 5 years, which were recently delivered...another most helpful experience. Moving can be a difficult and emotional time, and Ben Hur handles it with ease and grace. Thus, I have also felt confident to personally recommended them to others, so anyone reading this will be wise to hire them! (Julio & his staff were Fab with my recent long distance move)

I really could rave on and on here, but I'll cut to the chase.... Look no further than Roadrunner Moving ! Jason (owner) is a top notch pro and was obvious he takes great pride in offering the best experience possible to his customers. We needed a CA to AZ mover that could move us in a single day. Jason was more than up for that challenge. Our crew (John & Matt) arrived right on time, packed us all up fast, and unpacked in kind. Both were top pros as well. Polite, efficient, fast, careful... We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Roadrunner Moving to anyone needing a local or long distance move. Kudos to Jason and his outstanding team !

My wife and I recently moved from Anaheim Hills to Coto De Caza. We have a tremendous amount of "stuff" and wanted to make sure it would not get damaged in the move. After reading a number of furniture mover reviews, we chose SAFE N FAST MOVERS . This is one of the best decisions we have every made. Amir came out to my home to survey what we had and gave me a very acceptable estimate to make the move. I asked about insurance options and he explained the coverage he has for his trucks, movers and customer's contents. He said the insurance is figured in the price. I was amazed at the insurance coverage he was providing us. We had Safe N Fast Movers pack us. Four workers spent two days packing up our stuff. They packed our items as if they owned them. They were so careful with the packing! It took two days to actually move us. Safe N Fast Movers arrived on time at 8:00 AM and they proceeded to wrap all of our furniture and appliances. Marcus was the on-location foreman/mover he worked with during the move itself. What a wonderful employee! Marcus and his crew were amazing, handling very heavy and delicate "stuff". It all arrived in perfect shape. I rarely do reviews. Most of the time my reviews would have "average" ratings so I just didn't bother to do a review. Safe N Fast Movers were so amazing, from beginning to end of this move, that I really want to tell everyone, if you need to move and you want your stuff to arrive in same condition it left in, call SAFE N FAST MOVERS. They are the SAFE and FAST company to move you.

These guys were so great. I must admit that I am very late on this review, as I had a lot of personal stuff transpire right after the move. This company came recommended from my coworker. She moved with them in January and assured me they had no hidden fees and had professional workers. The company I used previously came with 1 young guy and two Hispanic men who did not speak a word of English. This was extremely frustrating, as I had delicate pieces that I wanted to instruct the movers on. This time 4 gentlemen (about 25-35 in age) arrived, were very well spoken, and two of the guys were on my coworkers move. For some reason, this consistency was reassuring. Same guys, for me meant same good move! This was exactly the case. They were wonderful! Thank you Trammel for taking such great care of my marble table. I was so worried. The gentleman that initially installed it, said taking it apart would be more difficult. It took all 4 men to disassemble, wrap, and move my table. It’s so heavy! There was no rush, no tugging at pieces, and no sticking tools in random slots. This was calculated, professional, and meticulous. Very impressive. Best part was, they didn’t take their time like the company in Burbank did. At EZ Moving, each mover was always doing something at some point. Every time we walked by or offered to lend a hand, we were asked to relax and given a smile. It was nice. I was exhausted from packing and planning this move, so to be asked to relax and be in a stress-free zone was nice. One of the gentlemen, Allen or Alex, did such a great job at packing. He fully packed my entire kitchen. He didn’t leave a single toothpick! We laughed at how bare our kitchen looked. His packing skills endured the 75 mile bumpy commute. Our new house is still having they pavement put in, so the current pathway is still all rocks and dirt. We were so worried about this. I think I asked them 20x about the glass. Not a single scratch! Not the pieces he packed nor the furniture they wrapped. I did not get a chance to look through any of the items as everything remained in their boxes and furniture pads. We moved in, but we had to leave out of the country right away. We are just now going through everything. Their boxes and furniture pads are completely free to use, but I asked if I could purchase both, seeing as how we would have no time to unpack. This entire move has been so rushed. But it could not have been smoother with EZ. We’ll be honest, we were anxious coming home from the trip, not seeing any of the pieces (each one was wrapped in entirety, not a millimeter was showing, so we could not see anything, scratches or not). So you can imagine our satisfied and happy faces. It was good rest of the day. There are no hidden fees, they will tell you upfront what is provided for free and what comes with an extra cost. They have flyers on the Internet that show the same prices, so there are no surprises or false information. They have all kinds of boxes too, this will come handy for the different items you may have. We did not pack our clothes because they come with wardrobe boxes where you just hang the clothes inside. The box opens up with a small metal rod inside, you hang your clothes, they close up the box. Very simple. My only suggestion for others is to book it in the morning or a time where they can avoid traffic, I requested a 3PM window on a Friday, so I kind of inconvenienced everyone with this. Overall, will continue to use and recommend.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost for long-distance movers?

Long-distance movers transport your belongings across the country for you. No more renting a trailer and road-tripping from state to state with your entire house hitched to your bumper. Long-distance movers make the move happen so you can fly to your new home, suitcase in hand, and wait for your furniture to arrive. Nationally, the average price range for long-distance movers is $1,490-$2,230. The distance you are moving and the number of cubic feet the movers have to transport will both affect cost. Another factor in long-distance moving costs is whether you choose to pay for an exclusive move or a consolidated move.

In an exclusive move, which is more expensive, your belongings are the only cargo on the moving truck. The movers travel directly to your new house and deliver your belongings on a scheduled day. A consolidated move is more affordable because the movers transport your belongings along with those of other people, saving them time and gas — which means you save money. The downside is that your belongings typically arrive with a two-week delivery window rather than on a prescheduled day. Read reviews to make sure you can trust the company with your possessions to ensure a peaceful moving process.

How much does it cost to move a one-bedroom apartment across the country?

Professional movers can handle the hard work of moving your one-bedroom apartment across the country for you. You can determine what your move will cost by learning the rate your movers charge per cubic foot and how they factor distance into the total cost. Cross-country movers typically charge based on your belongings rather than apartment size because that determines how much work they will have to do. For example, a studio apartment that is crammed full of things will take more work and moving truck space than the contents of a three-bedroom apartment with very little furniture.

Cross-country movers may also have varying rates, depending on where in the country you are moving. For example, a company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. A one-bedroom apartment costs approximately $1,500 to move across the country.

How much does it cost to move across the country?

The national average cost for hiring cross-country movers is $1,490-$2,220. A number of factors can affect the cost. One factor is the distance you want to move. For example, an East Coast-based moving company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. Another factor is how many belongings you have. Most cross-country movers charge by the cubic foot.

The type of move you want is another consideration in cost. You can have your belongings moved exclusively and delivered on a set day, or you can opt for a consolidated move, which is less expensive. In a consolidated move your belongings are stored and transported with the goods of other customers who are moving to your general vicinity during the same general time frame as you. Your belongings should arrive within a one- to two-week window, rather than on a set day. If you want the cross-country movers to pack your belongings for you, the cost will also increase.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
