Personal Chef

Chicken, Salmon, Salads, Margaritas, Burgers and Hot Dogs were all incredible. A clean, laid-back Chef that may the day great. Highly recommend.

We had a family emergency just before a Christmas Eve dinner party, and Chef Collin was responsive, professional, and made accommodations for the different food preferences guests had, i.e.vegan, vegetarian, and meet eaters. Everyone thought the food was delicious, he arrived 15 minutes early, had all the food prepared, and left very clear directions for cooking. We cannot recommend him highly enough!

At first, I was very excited to work with Collin. He responded quickly at first to my proposal, had great menu ideas, and when we spoke on the phone he seemed really good! I told other chefs “no” and I committed to him. The original bid I put out there was for $300 for a simple salad, pizza cake surprise small dinner for two: just my husband & I. We are vegetarian & we don’t drink alcohol. So the food/drink is really inexpensive. He kept me waiting for almost a week to confirm and create a formal agreement. Finally, I had to go find a back-up chef who would agree to the same menu for the $300 rate. Before canceling on Collin, out of respect, I sent one final message saying I wanted to work with him but if I didn’t get a confirmation from him that evening, I would have to go with another chef who was willing to commit. (The dinner was only a few days away at that point.) Collin replied wit a very surprising message (copy attached) indicating the price of would be $1,000 now if I wanted him. Thank goodness I found a back-up! I would have been in real trouble if I had relied on his word. I gave two stars instead of one because this rating is not based on his chef skill (as he never worked for us), he may be an excellent chef. This rating is for the poor communication and last minute cancellation that put me in a really difficult spot & made my planning for a special surprise night that I had saved up for really hard on me. :( I hope Collin can learn from this experience that being a good chef involves both good cooking AND good communication with your potential clients.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Pricing: I like to work within everyone's budget, low or high. I am not the cheapest but am very fairly priced for the high quality I provide. Discounts: I offer to waive the %15 service charge for first-time customers. Deposit: I require a %50 deposit 14 days from the event date to confirm. (I accept, Paypal, Credit Card, Check, Cash, Venmo)

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    I start every event by getting all the details we need to give a quote for the occasion (Rentals, Staffing, Budget, Food style, etc.) After gathering all the information I need, I will send you a quote and menu proposal for the event! After the invoice and menu are accepted, I will send out my cancellation policy and will request a deposit. Simple as that!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    With over 10 years in the catering, restaurant and private chef industry. I have worked with high profile celebrities, politicians, socialites, not to mention countless 200+ person full-service catering events.
