Introduction: I am a music teacher who specializes in guitar and piano lessons.
I do outcalls in the Pasadena area and the neighboring cities. I have much experience and work very well with children.
Ernest specializes in all styles of rock and blues as well as their subgenres. He also teaches classical, jazz, funk, pop, folk and R&B.
One of Ernest's main focuses will be teaching the student the correct way to practice. Students will be trained on special accelerated learning techniques which will enable them to learn music efficiently without any frustration. This system of learning music will enable students of all levels to learn with a sense of confidence that they can learn any piece of music.
The student will learn correct posture and playing technique to avoid any tension while allowing for maximum efficiency of movement. Students will also enjoy learning the art of improvisation ranging from first timer to advanced. This is one of the most enjoyable and important parts of playing that is often forgotten. Not only does it encourage creativity but it also develops the student's ear and is a very powerful skill in performance. Students will be given ear training and lessons in music theory as they advance. This knowledge will give the student a fuller understanding of music and empower them to learn independently.

When I had the good fortune of meeting Ernest I had never touched a guitar. Through his professional, supportive, positive and patient teaching, playing guitar gives me both pleasure and a sense of accomplishment. I wasn't sure that at my age I would be able to learn at all, but Ernest's confidence and steady pace proved that I could. When I first met Ernest and I played some music I liked and casually said, "I wish I could play like that!" his answer was, "Let's get started." He taught me to play classical, blues, the Beatles, folk...anything and everything I wanted.
Ernest is a gifted musician and teacher. I am so grateful that I found him. Through the guitar, he helped me discover abilities I didn't know I had. He helped me understand music in a new way and his lessons have truly enriched my life.

I have two nieces and one nephew. Taking lessons at home, my eldest niece started reading music, learning guitar and piano several days after her kindergarten ceremony. By the time she entered 6th grade she outperformed me in many areas even though I was also taking lessons from Ernest. He always shows great care in the process of learning, practicing, and mastering the instrument.
My nephew ended up picking up the guitar and my youngest niece acquired the language of music & instruction possibly as early as her crawling under the keyboard and listening to her older sisters lessons over the years. By the time the youngest entered 1st grade she was composing legitimate piano pieces and all three kids eventually shined as the brightest music stars in their K-8 school.
Ernest is sensitive to the needs and interests of the learner. Whenever possible he provides additional time. His foresight and attention to detail facilitates the maturation process and sustained growth available only through the delivery and mastery of his craft. My niece expressed gratitude by giving him drawings of the sun, clouds, hearts, trees and smiley faces beneath the words, tHANk yOu ErnSt. Grandma also happily made snacks and treats for Ernest. At this time I cant think of anything for Ernest to improve because the proof can be heard in the music. I will be more than happy to discuss our music lessons with ErnSt.
