Introduction: Feeling stuck or lost? Have a job you hate? Ready to make a career change? Lacking motivation and drive? Afraid to ask for a raise? Suffering from imposter syndrome? Losing self-confidence? Having difficulty with clients, colleagues, or boss? Having work/life balance issues?
These are examples of challenges you might face as a professional person but might not feel comfortable sharing with colleagues, close friends, or even family members. Sometimes those closest to you are too biased and opinionated to offer constructive advice, or they may lack the knowledge, experience, and emotional intelligence to provide the most appropriate guidance and support. This is where a neutral party like a life/personal coach can be beneficial.
Coaching is a co-creative relationship. As a coach, I serve as a thought-partner to help guide you through a process that allows you to reach your own conclusions about how best to achieve your goals consistent with your own vision and values, not mine or somebody else’s. Coaching is also a support system that provides:
A safe space for open, honest, and meaningful dialogue
New perspectives
Inspiration, motivation, and encouragement
Potential solutions
Next Steps
Accountability
Every client is unique, so I generally do not offer one-size fits all, months-long coaching programs, and packages. I tailor my coaching to the needs of each individual client, and we work together to explore and generate ideas, shifts in thinking and mindset, new opportunities, renewed focus and energy, progress towards goals, and excitement about the future. Plus, the continuity of regular one-on-one coaching sessions builds a foundation of partnership, trust, and accountability.
TYPES OF COACHING OFFERED:
• Life Coaching – personal/family relationships; life vision, direction, motivation, goals, etc.
• Executive Coaching – managing client relationships, dealing with work colleagues/direct reports/boss, meeting performance goals, better managing time and responsibilities, building confidence, etc.
• Career Coaching – finding right career path, seeking a promotion, changing jobs/careers, asking for a raise/compensation negotiation, considering college/grad school, etc.
ABOUT ME:
I have coached, mentored, and guided people formally as a workplace manager and informally as a peer and friend throughout my adult life. Prior to becoming a personal coach, I worked for 20 years in the higher education and non-profit sectors as a fundraiser and senior level manager, and briefly worked in private banking/wealth management. I now write TV scripts in my spare time. I hold a bachelor's degree in organizational communication from Pepperdine University and master's degree in political science from American University. I am a certified professional coach through Coach Training Alliance (CTA), which is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
