FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a professional drummer, I dedicate many hours each week to practice and study. In addition, I work with bands at rehearsals to prepare for performances and write new music. I also take lessons to continually improve my technique and knowledge of drumming.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started playing drums in middle school after seeing a drummer on TV and thinking to myself "That's what I want to do!" Teaching is something that has come very naturally to me; not only have I taught music, but I have taught swimming lessons, instructed group sports, and tutored children in academics for many years. My mother and her father were also teachers and musicians, so teaching and music are in my blood.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am proud to be a member of original, creative bands in my hometown of Los Angeles. I am particularly proud to be working with a Grammy-winning band called Quetzal.
