- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
If you come to me I charge $35 an hour, and $25 for a half-hour. If I am traveling to you, my rates go to $40 an hour, $30 a half-hour. If you live more than 15 minutes away, an extra $5 will be added on. I won't travel further than 25 minutes, for now at least. Everything can be discussed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we meet, in person or on the phone. This time is free-of-charge. It may involve a little playing of the piano/keys, but for the most part is an assessment of your current skills, your goals, your schedule, and whether or not we think we could be a good fit for each other. If we decide to continue, we will set up a recurring lesson and will get the process started.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've played piano for 22+ years, drums for 18+ years. I've been through 6 years of concert band in percussion, 4 years of jazz band, and have played in 10+ paid groups. I've played in jam bands, reggae bands, jazz-fusion bands, hip-hop bands, rock/metal bands, cover bands. I've done sound and lights production for multiple venues for about 4 years, and have sold my performances as a lounge pianist for bridal showers, wineries, and private parties. I also have an album with a group on spotify and iTunes.
