FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There is usually at least a minimum charge for small jobs. but in certain cases I am flexible. On larger jobs I charge by the square yard, and or degree of difficulty. I will be up front with customer from the start. For example thick carpet or patterned carpet are more difficult to work with. Stairs are extra also.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we talk on the phone and find out if the job they need done is something I can do. I Don't want to waste anybody's time. Also discuss estimate price, ect. Make arrangements to measure job. Then measure, and discuss install date and exact price. I insist customer to be present while measuring to make sure their are no misunderstandings on anything. Repeat customers may not be required to be present at all measuring.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I obtained my flooring contractors license in 1998, and before that I worked for several different licensed contractors as a helper, lead man and foreman since 1986. I really owe much to those guys, they are true craftsman.
