Working with Ron Robertson has been an amazing experience.My son excelled from learning the basis of what drumming, learning parts of a drum, and how to hit a drum all the way to my son playing independently in a band, performing in front of a crowd. The confidence is just un measurable in my soon. Now he plays anywhere he can, talks about fills and other drumming terms daily, play air drums with his hands and feet, and lights up whenever he hears music and states I can play that . Because of Ron ' s patience, teaching, passion, motivation, and his ability to make drumming fun, my son is now in honor band, 1st chair in regular band, and performing independently. Now my son has a passion.

I first met Ron Robertson while he was the drummer for Saddleback Church. I knew his wife, as we were both volunteers for Saddlebacks Kids Ministry. Ron also taught kids how to play the drums during the summer music sessions put on by Saddleback Church. Our son was around 10 years old when he learned to play smoke on the water from Ron in one of those summer sessions. He learned in just a few weeks. He was so excited. After that my son began taking private drum lessons from Ron on a weekly basis at his home studio. Ron helped my son become very proficient on the drum kit. He taught our son for approximately 4 years. In that time my son was the lead percussionist in his Junior High Band. His precision of the beat and the counting of rhythms were due to the teachings of Ron. Ron has an extensive knowledge of drum skills & techniques to share with his students. In high school, my son began playing in a band and went back to Ron for some pointers to brush up on his skills. Ron is a very likable guy and did a great job teaching my son the drums. If time had allowed my son would have continued drum lessons with Ron.

My son is autistic and expressed a desire to play the drums. Ron's kindness, patience, and expertise in teaching has captured my son's heart forever. Ron not only led him to succeed as a drummer and fulfill his dream, but you should see the smile on his face when he blows people away at how well he plays, it's worth a million bucks! Ron is a great drummer who is not only a very talented performer but an excellent teacher. His commitment to technique and his love for all styles of drumming will help transform any drummer, at any level, from a beginner to the most advanced student.
