I absolutely recommend using Dj Charlie as your Wedding MC/DJ. For Ceremony, Reception Lighting and special effects. He is so easy to work with and does a great job at getting people up and dancing at the reception. I think the Dj is so important to a Wedding and Charlie added so much to our special day. He was such a First Class Professional guy. When we first met Dj Charlie he was professional and organized which inmediately made me interested in using him as our Dj, he was exactly what we asked for at our Wedding. So when it came time to start the planning process of our Wedding we contacted him many times and he was able to respond promptly. From Begining to end He was so amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better MC/DJ, so professional and yet seemed like a part of our family. Dj Charlie was fantastic. He was able to bring friends and family of all ages to the dancefloor He actually meets with you as a couple in advance to find out all about you and then ensures that everything in your Wedding on your Wedding day is just the way you want it. At the end of the night my guests were saying how great our dj was. We have referred all of our other friends to him who will be getting married in the near future. We can't say enough great things about our experience with Charlie Dj and Lighting. I highly recommend Dj Charlie to Anyone and Everyone looking for a GREAT MC and GREAT DJ. Thank You DJ Charlie!!! You are the best!!

Megan was our dual florist & coordinator for our wedding yesterday & she was simply outstanding! The bouquets & floral arrangements were gorgeous & she realized my vision flawlessly. As far as coordinating went, she was on point! She definitely knows her stuff & was a huge help & resource for me, suggesting ideas & making sure we had all our bases covered. There were certainly things she brought up that we hadn't even thought of or considered & that was really helpful, especially when planning a wedding with a million little details to cover. On the night, everything ran so smoothly, we were on time, & the night just went off without a hitch. Megan definitely knows what she is doing & you will be in good hands with her. We are both so happy with her services & absolutely recommend her to anyone in need of an outstanding florist or event coordinator!

Marie was AMAZING as my day-of-coordinator at my wedding. I planned my wedding myself so I had been the point person for everything but she took the reins seamlessly on the day of so I could step back and enjoy the day. She's extremely knowledgeable regarding wedding etiquette and procedures and was indispensable to us.

BEST EVENT PLANNER, HANDS DOWN!!!! I hired Ingrid and her team last minute for decorations and event planning for a work party. By far, the best decision I've ever made. My wedding is in August, and I've went along and hired her for that event as well. She's proficient, efficient, and a visionary!! Her ideas are so thoughtful and personally organized! I am so impressed with her work and her expertise. She never ceased to amaze me. I got so many compliments on her flower arrangements and decorations that for so perfectly with the theme. I can't wait to see what she's got up her sleeve for my wedding in August. Also, this wasn't the first time I've hired Ingrid for an event. I hired her back in November 2015 for my MIL 50th birthday party. Her husband and herself, arrived much earlier for setup and made sure everything was the way we wanted it to look, before hey left the scene. They are so professional and such hard workers. I got a ton of compliments on their work that our family friend also hired her for her services for their wedding too! I will always refer Ingrid, without a doubt! She's my go-to person since Nov 2015.

I booked Annemarie for my wedding planning services and I am so thrilled I did! I knew I needed the help and I could have NEVER have done it without her! She was so organized, insanely helpful to my family and I, fun, and such a pleasure to work with. Besides keeping me on a schedule and making sure I was having fun instead of stressing on what I needed to do next , she would approach me and let me know ‘it was time’. She made all the steps to our wedding flow flawlessly (food service, toast, dance, photos, dessert, bouquet toss). If it wasn’t for her I would have been delegating and stressing my own husband and wedding party to make sure everyone else had fun. Instead I got to actually enjoy everything and have fun myself ! Priceless! She even talked me out of crying as I was about to walk down the aisle, which was a major goal of mine! AMAZING! She listened to my opinions and desires and offered advice when I needed and asked for it. She made sure I ate, which is impossible to do at your wedding. She kept everything like clockwork and with so much care and communication. I am so grateful for this woman! You are in good hands!

Let me preface by saying that I’m a first time bride that lives out of state with a 2 year old daughter. I am 150% sure that my wedding day would not have gone as smoothly and frankly, as perfect as it did if it weren’t for Kingdom Weddings & Events. This husband and wife team were absolutely wonderful to say the least. They were punctual, organized, and super sweet! Vanessa was my wedding planner, confidant, and she kept my feet on the ground leading up to one of the most important days of my life. THANK YOU Kingdom Weddings & Events!!! We love you!!!

We had EventSpell decorate and manage everything for my bridal shower and they did a phenomenal job! I was blown away at how great the tables and centerpieces looked. The wall that was decorated was truly spectacular. It takes someone with a great sense of imagination and design to have transformed the area from an empty dull clubhouse into a Great Gatsby themed shower. I was awestruck by everything because it felt like I was stepping back into time. I could not have asked for a better shower and Ishita did a great job with everything! I would highly recommend her services to anyone planning a party, wedding, shower, etc!

Tawny was my wedding coordinator 8/11/2015, and being that it was my wedding, I just assumed that i would be completely stressed out even with a planner, but because of Tawny I did not stress at all and did not even once go "bridezilla"!!! Tawny is the epitome of professional, while at the same time being so personable that she will quickly become your friend. She strives to make sure everything is absolutely perfect, and in my case even better than i imagined. She really goes above and beyond to make sure not only you get exactly what you ask for, but she also tries her hardest to get you the best price and quality on everything purchased. I really can't say any more other than she is the best, and i will definitely be using her services again for my 30th birthday party this year! I absolutely recommend All Dolled Up for any party or event you ever do!

Where to begin! Ruby was a savior during my wedding events and was able to offload so much of my stress and attend to all last minute details I was unable to do myself due to time constraints. I was able to trust and rely on her 100% and she did not let me down she knew exactly what I wanted and needed. Ruby made detailed timelines and checklists for all my events. She helped me plan and execute my wedding ceremony and it was perfect. She was able to offer me affordable vendors for photography, wedding dessert table that had a beautiful fruit and fondu, icecream popsicles/kulfi with customized labels passed out during our wedding that my guest raved about how delicious they were till today, decor for my wedding ceremony, and she was able to offer me multiple options for makeup and hair vendors for my wedding party. Overall ruby was amazing her attention to detail and her genuine kindness and sincerity was what made her so great at what she does. She went above and beyond for me and my events. She was my go to person for all my questions and was able to keep me calm and organized winding down to the events. I definitely recommend to booking her asap for all of your upcoming events. She does it all!

Karen is amazing! Words can't adequately express my appreciation of this wonderful lady. She did so much to make our event a success and to relieve the stress related to hosting a wedding. We hired Karen to be our "coordinator for the day" for our daughter's wedding. Even though the wedding was small (about 60 guests) and in our home, we wanted someone to help so that WE could be guests ourselves and enjoy the wedding. I did quite a bit of research before choosing and I'm so glad that we chose Karen. She has an infectious smile that puts you at ease immediately. She is also extremely professional and knowledgeable. She asked a lot of questions so that she would have a better idea of what we were envisioning. She had great practical ideas that helped with the flow of the event. We felt like we were in really good hands. When Karen arrived on the day of the wedding, she absolutely blew me away! I gave her a quick tour of everything that was happening and she just took it from there. It was like she was family and had been there a million times. She stayed two steps ahead all night and really made the evening stress free. She has a very unique quality in that she can take charge and provide direction in the nicest most nonabrasive way. When she lets guests know that it's time to move out to the patio for cocktails, or that we're ready for a toast, grand entrance, cake cutting etc. everyone listens and no one feels like they are being "bossed around". When guests left, she did so much to help wrap things up that I actually had to tell her to stop. She's so thoughtful. She pays attention to the smallest details and she really listens. I know Karen has done hundreds of events from large and elaborate to small and intimate. No matter what kind of event your planning, Karen will make it better and she will make your life easier! Thank you Karen for allowing us to relax and truly enjoy Maegan and Danny's wedding! Warm regards, Shelly and Bob

Until I became the bride-to-be I hadn't put much thought into having a wedding coordinator. Luckily a friend of mine could see what stress I was about to be under and offered to get Selina Taylor in contact with me. I'm so glad she did! My fiance and I still wanted to be the "wedding planners" but I needed help bringing it all to that big day. My fiance ended up being deployed for more than half of the time we were engaged and having Selina to call on was a great stress reliever. I detest making phone calls and asking a million questions so Selina offered to do "the grunt work" for me. She listened to my ideas, took impeccable notes whenever I was unprepared for a meeting, and really understood what I wanted. She presented things to me in a way that was not overwhelming, which allowed me to feel comfortable about decisions I was making. Her contacts and suggestions of vendors were great and freed up time for other things. She became a point of contact for my mom and sister as well when I asked for their help with specific things. My biggest worry was how everything was going to come together the day of the wedding if I wasn't there to do it. Selina squashed that fear! When I showed up at the venue I was in awe of everything. It all looked better than I had imagined it. She helped me to pull all of my dreams and visions together and it looked perfect! Selina and I had a wonderful time together for those 8ish months. I am so grateful for everything she did and the friendship we have today

I want to start off by saying that planning a wedding is no easy endeavor and despite how much I wanted to organize and execute every detail out between my fiancé and I, we both knew that we couldn't tackle a project like this without the help of someone. To give you some background, we were both living and working in South Korea while trying to plan a wedding in Los Angeles, Ca. We both knew that it was time to hire a coordinator and we both couldn't be happier or more deeply grateful for all of the help we received from the Lavishly Yours team. We were extremely lucky to meet and work with Katherine and Marixa. If you have any doubt in your mind about wedding coordinators, please do not hesitate to work with them. They will go above and beyond anything you expect. I felt so at home with them. Any detail, whether big or small, was never a problem for them and that not only gave my fiancé and me peace of mind, but when our wedding day came it went smoothly and we were able to enjoy every second of it. Thank you again, Lavishly Yours, for your kindness, hard work, creativity, commitment and passion. You're amazing at what you do and you make it look so easy!

" In planning my wedding, my goal was to find all the perfect details to make my special day one to remember. I had gone through a TON of flower consultations before I talked with Megan about doing my wedding party arrangements. After discussing my vision with her, it was clear that she was on my page with what I was searching for! I really appreciated being able to throw ideas around with her until I found exactly what I wanted through her suggestions. I didn't get any particular style shoved to me like the other florists had done a couple times prior. It was a joy to work with Megan and her staff to make my flower arrangements the most beautiful ever. Every idea that she came up with was so creative and spot on with my fall rustic theme wedding. Megan has such attention to detail and creativity in her design ideas. If it wasn't for her knowledge and passion to make the best creations possible, I wouldn't have found the perfect look for my wedding. I absolutely LOVED every piece that she made for my wedding party. From the bridesmaids gorgeous orange daisy bouquets to my beautiful white and orange bridal bouquet, and all the men (especially my husband) looks sharp with their boutonnieres. Hands down the BEST experience I've ever had, and so many amazing shots were captured of these lovely arrangements. My wedding day was perfect! I plan to share some gorgeous pictures of the arrangements once I get my wedding pictures! 🙂 " Adrienn S.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a wedding event coordinator do?

Pulling off a large, complex wedding or an elegant, small affair requires juggling myriad details, including the officiant, food, drink, wedding cake, entertainment, transportation, rehearsal dinner, photography, equipment rentals, venue reservations and more. A wedding event coordinator can help you keep track of these details, overseeing the planning process and managing everything on the day of your wedding. Each wedding coordinator (and wedding) is different, but in general you can expect an event coordinator to:

    • Help you devise a realistic wedding budget and hold your vendors to it.
    • Map out a master plan that includes all of the details including ceremony music, favors, the guest book and more.
    • Suggest ceremony and reception locations that fit your wedding size, budget and vision.
    • Suggest florists, photographers, bands, caterers and other vendors that fit your budget.
    • Negotiate vendor contracts for the best deals.
    • Create a timeline for the day of the wedding that includes each vendor and member of your wedding party.
    • Mail invitations and track RSVPs.
    • Answer questions about wedding etiquette and current wedding trends.
    • Manage the wedding day from supervising vendors and setup to handling last-minute emergencies.

    What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How much do day-of wedding coordinators cost?

A day-of wedding coordinator makes sure that every detail of your wedding day goes off without a hitch, and deals quickly and quietly with any last-minute emergencies. For many brides, the day-of wedding coordinator is their best investment! The average national cost for a wedding coordinator is $800 to $1,000. Although full-service wedding coordinators often charge a percentage of the total wedding budget, most day-of coordinators charge a flat fee plus an additional hourly fee if the day runs long. For example, a 15-hour day-of coordination costs an average of $600, plus an additional $45 per hour if the coordinator works more than the planned 15 hours. Another option is to hire a coordinator to manage the last-minute details leading up to the event; for example, 25 hours of month-of coordination costs an average of $1,200. Several factors affect the cost of day-of coordination, including the region, the planner’s experience, and the specifics of the wedding. If the ceremony and reception are in two different locations, expect to pay more than if they’re in the same place. Also, extra details, such as managing food trucks or setting up snacks in addition to the meal, will increase the cost.

What should you ask a wedding coordinator?

When you hire a wedding coordinator, you want to make sure he or she gets you and can execute perfectly your vision of your dream wedding. To find the very best fit, it’s important to ask these five questions:

    • Are you available on my wedding date? If the coordinator isn’t available on your big day, there’s no reason to continue the interview — unless you’re willing to shift your date to accommodate their schedule.
    • What’s average cost of most of your weddings? If the coordinator’s usual wedding is outside your range, they might not be the right coordinator for you. Ask whether the coordinator requires a minimum wedding budget. In general, the wedding coordinator’s fee should be about 15 percent of your budget.
    • What is your speciality? Some coordinators specialize in day-of coordination, some create the overall vision, and others act as a producer. Make sure your wedding coordinator provides the type of services that will most help you create the event you have in mind, such as selecting vendors and handling their contracts, or managing the guest list and invitations.
    • What are your ideas for fulfilling our wedding vision? After you describe your dream wedding — rustic or sophisticated, traditional or funky — the wedding coordinator should be able to suggest appropriate venues, menus, decorations, etc..

Do you have a portfolio? Ask to see photos of their favorite weddings, especially if they’ve managed any that are similar to what you have in mind. This will help you see if you like their style and if their ideas seem fresh and creative.

Do I need a wedding day coordinator?

Even if you’ve handled every detail of planning your wedding, you might appreciate having a day-of wedding coordinator in your corner. Usually, the coordinator meets with you a few weeks before your wedding to put together a detailed timeline of everything that needs to happen on your wedding day. Then, on the big day, the coordinator makes sure everything goes according to plan — and handles any emergencies that pop up, such as party crashers, missing tuxedos, late vendors, disappearing bridal party members and more. Most wedding coordinators also handle:

    • Distributing the wedding day timeline to all of your vendors.
    • Coordinating all of your vendors, including the photographer, florist and baker.
    • Conducting the wedding rehearsal.
    • Helping the bride and her wedding party get dressed and take photos.
    • Checking floor plans, lighting levels, cake placement, menus, favors and more.
    • Collecting the wedding gifts and keeping personal items safe and accounted for.

Even if you don’t think you need a wedding coordinator, check with your venue. Some require that couples hire a day-of wedding coordinator for the day of the event.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
