Tutoring: STEPS Community Prep School has Pleasanton Unified School District teachers on staff to tutor students in math, science, world language, and English composition. Our teachers offer students an in-depth review of concepts, provide test preparation with analysis of test results, and plan and adjust teaching strategies according to individual needs.
STEPS' unique program was designed by a former PUSD administrator in partnership with math and science department chairs, top-performing AP instructors, and teachers of the specific subjects who have proven to be effective, motivational, and well-liked by the students of our community.
Classes are limited to a maximum of six students per section to allow for individual attention, optimal academic performance, and improved grades.
SAT Prep: In addition to our outstanding tutoring service, STEPS has provided students of the Tri-Valley the best in SAT preparation courses since 2004. Our combined course provides students with a comprehensive review of concepts, test-taking approaches, and focused sets of practice questions.
Students can increase their understanding of the new SAT through detailed descriptions and review of the math and critical reading and writing sections of the test.
All courses are taught by PUSD high school math and English teachers who have been trained and certificated by the College Board. Class size is limited to eight students to maximize instruction and allow for individual attention.
Math Matters: STEPS invites 3rd through 11th graders to participate in a unique problem-solving experience that will challenge and enrich any math enthusiast.
Students who participate in Math Matters will learn new skills and techniques, while working with multiple levels of rich mathematical problems in a collaborative environment.
