Where would I be now if it wasn't for Donna Stoering? In less than two years, when I was 12 years old, she had me performing my first solo piano recital: rhapsody in blue, Chopin's Scherzo B flat minor, a Beethoven Piano Concerto, Liszt's Valse Oubliee, and a Bach Prelude and Fugue. That's one program. And you know why I learned it all so fast? Because Donna made it FUN to learn. She taught me the most important thing about music---MAKING MUSIC. We had laugh attacks at my piano lesson, made up wonderful stories about the pieces I was playing, and learned so much furious technique-I didn't even realize at the time how hard what I was doing was. With Donna, fear was never in my vocabulary when it came to the piano. She is the best. I enjoy music as a profession to this day and I owe much of my amazing career to those 2 years I was so lucky to have with Donna as my teacher.
