2. Katie Spear Events
"I specialize in working with creatives that have unique requests, big personalities and eccentric visions. I translate that into the spreadsheets, organization and order that speaks to me.
I have over six years experience in event management and experience production. I started my career in events through the music industry managing artists, shows, tours and festivals. In the music industry, almost anything goes– except time. I credit my expert time management skills to this portion of my career where the minutes mattered. If an artist was even a couple minutes over their set time at a festival, the entire stage schedule could get thrown off. Celebrities/musicians can also have very unique (and not always legal) requests while traveling on tour or before and after a set and I make those requests happen in a professional way.
From there, I switched gears and dove into the corporate life working with massive budgets and hard deadlines. I worked directly with top level VP’s to project their yearly budgets and make sure their teams stayed within those budgets throughout the year. Managing these huge amounts of money with precision and professionalism is where I gained the skillset to make sure each event or project I work on stays on target financially. While working in the 9-5 corporate world, I was also the Event Manager for the San Francisco branch of an international women’s only, private members club. I planned and executed quarterly signature events and bi-monthly “mini skirt” parties for this branch.
No matter what job or title I held at the time, producing and planning experiences and events was always in my repertoire. So I made the decision to give that my full energy and see what would manifest. Less than a year later, I’m now working with clients from concept to execution on their dream events.
In the creative world of boutique weddings and specialty events, there’s no request too wild for me to make happen. I don’t just embrace the weird — I thrive in it."
