She knows how to engage her students, spark their curiosity, and motivate them to take their learning to next level. Her class is highly interactive and she captures students’ interest and have the students explore a topic beyond what students initially expected. Second, she is knowledgeable. Since she has experience as an archeologist, she has extensive expertise on global history and culture. She often share the stories and origins behind English words and expressions. Thus, the class is not simply studying vocabulary and grammar but the way to learn about history and world.(If you prefer something particular, like focusing on grammar, she is so flexible and will adapt your needs.) Before finding Ms. Lynn, I honestly felt defeated. I was doing everything I could, but it still felt like I wasn’t giving my girls what they truly needed. I had tried a tutor before, and the experience left me even more discouraged. When I read about how Ms. Lynn approaches teaching: having students write, choosing one skill at a time to focus on, and keeping an ongoing vocabulary list—I finally felt a sense of hope.
