Introduction: I graduated from UC Irvine in 2012 with a B.S. in Physics. As a physics major, I specialized in Biomedicine. This track required extensive training in all of the hard sciences-including Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, and all levels of Calculus. After college, I decided to pursue a career in medicine, and I am currently pursuing a Masters in Bioscience from Keck Graduate Institute. I hope to continue on to medical school afterwards. I started privately tutoring in high school for a friend in my Pre-Calculus class and continued it on the side throughout college. Midway through college I began working for the Berkeley Review, specializing in the MCAT Physical Sciences. After learning how to train students for standardized testing, Shortly afterwards, I decided to begin helping in test prep for AP exams, the ACT, the SAT I, and the SAT II Subject Tests. I worked for two private, high-school-level centers, Focus Academy and Group Two-In-One. I have created a 6-week, student-specific program to help students raise their scores on the ACT and SAT I. I have also created a 10-week crash course in AP exam preparation geared towards students who are not currently enrolled in the specific AP class. Subjects include Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. I have only recently begun using Thumbtack, and thus have no references available on the website. However, I would be more than willing to refer you to previous students who have raised scores with my coaching.

I studied AP Calc AB with Jason. I wasn't enrolled in the class at school (I was in regular calculus), but decided to take the AP test. I studied with him for 3-6 hours a day for a solid 2 weeks straight, and I aced the AP with a 5. He is an extremely careful teacher, very student specific, and quickly finds out which subjects/areas you have trouble with and pays close attention to those parts. One thing that I remember was that if I had a question on something, he would think for a minute and say to himself, "How do I want to say this?" To me, it showed that he cared about each student, and even thought about which words to say it in that would make the most sense to me. He remembers which problems you usually get wrong, and orients the class or lecture around that. I can't think of anything I didn't like about his teaching, but maybe it was just that he fit my learning style. If you're struggling in a subject or just want to do really well, I totally recommend him as a tutor!
