I originally hired Cruz to put up a fence. However, I quickly realized he was skilled at other areas including painting and home improvement/repair. He did an excellent job putting up my fence, painting it, as well as fixing a few things inside my house in the kitchen and living room. He was extremely professional and his work quality was great. Would definitely hire him again if I need any help with home improvement. Highly recommended for any and all home repair, fencing, and painting!
Ricardo sanded and stained our garage door as well as repaired a backyard gate. My husband and I were very pleased with his work ethic and skill level. We will definitely call him again.
German is the man !! I should have gone with him first instead of the other electrician that basically tried to rip me off. He replaced 7 old cans with new led cans and now there is light in the kitchen! He even fixed the power to my garage !! In the future I will only call German.
I received 3 bids to do a difficult job-- remove my old gas furnace and install a heat pump and air circulator in the attic of my home. Rudy Herrera of HP Mechanical, who has 16 years experience as a licensed contractor did an excellent job. He and his helper were very professional, extremely knowledgeable (I asked a lot of questions), productive and friendly. Since his overhead is lower than other companies, he could offer the best value for his hard work. Rudy did a great job within a 2 1/2 day period. He was very responsive to my texts. The heat pump works beautifully cooling the house and heating the house. HP Mechanical's Rudy Herrera is my heating/cooling/ plumbing contractor now. He'll be back to put in the downstairs heat pump.
Ashkan did an excellent job for me. I knew the job would be somewhat tricky with the house's original (1950's) wiring. Ashkan moved the wiring and installed the new light perfectly, with as little damage to the wall as possible. He does the job with great care, and he cleaned up perfectly after completing the job. Additionally, Ashkan is a pleasure to talk with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others.
Starting with a free estimate, Ali and his team transformed our house with recessed lights at an affordable price. He also replaced the exhaust fans and few other electrical stuff inside the house. They started early at 7 am and worked till 10 pm until they finished the work. Extremely professional and efficient. We would highly recommend him. I am already planning on having them come back to work on the exterior lighting (fountain lights), etc as well. Very pleased and happy with their work. He is booked well in advance so call him as soon as possible if you'd like to hire him. :) Thanks Ali -- you are awesome!!
Vyron and his team were great. They remodeled a small guest house for us - flooring, ceiling, painting, plumbing, windows, cabinetry. It was a 3 day job. They always showed up on time, worked extremely hard, were professional and pleasant. Vyron is very focused on doing a quality job. He clearly has a lot of experience doing all types of remodeling projects, and offered several valuable suggestions. I would definitely use again.
Nick was friendly, on time. Hung my mirror and even went to Hom Depot to pick up supplies to fix the bar in my closet which was not part of the original job and then touched up the paint where other installers had messed it up. I would highly recommend him and will definitely call him if I need help again.
My experience with Yong the handyman was nothing but excellent!!! He went into my house and remodeled my whole bathroom. Now I have the bathroom of my dreams. He showed up on time, was very professional and the Best HE KNOWS HIS JOB!! He gave me a very reasonable price, with a great quality of work. THANK YOU YONG THE HANDYMAN!!
I needed a bathroom ceiling fan replaced and Fred did a great job. Cleaned as he went along and left the bathroom just as he found it but with a working fan. He came out the same day to inspect and the fan was replaced within 48 hours. I will definitely call Fred with any future repairs
Ivan come over and replaced my attic fan and did a wonderful job. very grateful. I have asked him for additional bids on other projects in my home. the other great thing is that he is affordable thank you
Tom put in my ceiling fan this morning; he did an EXCELLENT job, and cleaned up after himself! He was on time, professional and I wouldn't hesitate to contact him for other jobs in the future.
Nasar did a great job with our ceiling fan installation. He offered insightful suggestions and worked with us to ensure that we were satisfied with the final product. We will definitely use him again, and plan to recommend him to our network!
Michael and his assistant came to install a ceiling fan with lights. The room had nothing in the ceiling. Michael was prompt, in fact he called to see if he could come a bit early. The install went smoothly and I am happy with the work. His price was very reasonable and I plan on bringing him back to change old can lights throughout the house. I highly recommend Michael.
David did an excellent job on the electrical work i needed done for a cabin in our backyard. He communicates very well and gives prompt updates which I believe is such an important skill. He is thoughtful and thorough. He plans everything out and is very open to feedback. He also installed vents for the cabin's bathroom fan and kitchen fan, as well as my bathroom faucet. He is courteous, polite, and his business partner, Allison, does a great job sending estimates and keeping track of the billing. I would recommend David as well as i plan to hire him for other work in the near future!
Robert climbed through my attic to install my ceiling fan box and wiring. Job is not finished yet because I have not received the longer downrod. So far so good.
Alex has done a variety of things for us in our home & all were very well done. He is fast, efficient, honest & very skilled. I highly recommend him for just about anything you might need in your home or business. Things Alex have done for us include: ~ Installing high quality vinyl siding & trim to withstand our very rough, wet environment. Still look great years later! ~ Installed custom soap stone kitchen counters including under mount sinks & back splashes - gorgeous! ~ Finished our basement to create a guest bedroom, bathroom & office for which our visiting friends & family really enjoy. ~ Super insulated our attic which paid for itself in reduced heating bills in a couple years. ~ Rebuilt our aging brick walkway & patio & they still look beautiful. ~ Rebuilt our fireplace removing old bricks & replacing them with a variety of stones for a much more modern look & feel. Obviously, I highly recommend Alex for any building project you might have. Jon P.
Edwin was fantastic. He gave us a very reasonable quote for the installation of two attic fans. On the day of the installation, he was on time and finished the installation promptly and without any unexpected issues. We will be hiring him again for more projects at our home. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
We had a mix of things to fix: plumbing, a towel rack, some grout work on a bathroom counter, caulking around a sink, etc. Everything was quick, clean, and professional. Will definitely use them in the future for handyman projects of all kinds.
Kirk and his team performed an interior remodel and a new garage build for my house from January 2011 to July 2011. I am satisfied with Kirks work. He is very experienced in new constructions and remodels. He did a very good job for a very good price. Kirk also gave me lots of free extras at his expense. In March 2010 I purchased a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom house in Union City, California. The house was in good structural condition, but as a foreclosured unit, it needed some rehabilitation. The original detached garage was in poor condition; it was badly damaged by termites and water. My intent was to have the detached garage demolished and completely rebuilt from the ground up. I planned on doing interior renovation at a later time. I found Kirk from craigslist and he had a link to his Thumbtack page. I called him and he came by to give me an estimate. He said he could give me a really good deal on a new garage and do an interior remodel for a little more than what I would have paid for the garage alone. Kirk was really enthusiastic about doing my job, much more so than the other contractors I had come to give me a bid. Kirk also had very good ideas about modernizing the interior. He suggested a bar counter between my kitchen and dining area. He would also turn my empty utility rooms into a master bedroom and master bathroom. And he wanted to create a laundry machine closet. Kirk had an architect draw the construction plans; his architect did a really nice job. He submitted it to the city as part of the permit application process. I wanted the work done with all permits so everything would be by the book. It would also help should I decide to sell the house at a later date. Kirk started out on the interior work first. He demolished the old kitchen and utility room. He built a new kitchen, a master bedroom, a master bathroom, a laundry machine closet, and a small coat closet by the front door. Kirk said he could also do a couple more things to the interior. He would do the labor for cheap if I paid for the materials. So I agreed and Kirk also replaced my front door, front window, and sliding glass door. He also remodeled my fireplace and fixed a bunch of broken things in my original bathroom. Kirk also completely rewired the house. The original wiring was a dangerous mess, a potential fire hazard. The interior work was completed towards the end of April 2011 and all the work was approved by the city inspector. It looked really nice. I received many compliments from friends and family. I am fairly picky with details and I did notice a couple flaws with fit and finish. I pointed out them out to Kirk. He and his workers did fix them. The garage work started immediately afterwards. The old garage was not worth saving so it was demolished and hauled away. The original foundation was unusable. So Kirk jackhammered it out. Kirk poured a new heavy-duty foundation onto an extensive frame of rebar. He tied it into the house foundation. Then he framed the new oversized 510 square foot garage. Kirk added a storage attic with a pull-down ladder. Kirk also poured a new driveway that looked excellent. Kirk added a 50 amp subpanel to the garage. He also gave me a bunch of free extras like wall insulation. Kirk also used roof panels coated with an aluminum heat reflective substance. The garage was completed by the end of July 2011. It looked really nice. Like the interior, I also received compliments from friends and family. The above garage attic storage with the pull-down ladder was really useful. The garage also passed city inspection. There were also a few issues with fit and finish in the garage. Kirk fixed the problems that I pointed out. While the garage was being built, Kirk also repaired my patio awning and side perimeter fence. He did an excellent job on them. One lady even drove by, stopped, and complimented on how nice the outside looks. I am overall satisfied with Kirks work. He really transformed my house. Since everything was done with permits, I now have a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house on county and city records. If you want to see his work on my house, ask Kirk to give you my phone number.
Pedro, I wanted to let you know just how much I appreciated all you did for us. This has truly been a large project for us and to a certain extent I am not really sure we truly understood the magnitude. I was a bit shocked when we first talked about the rewiring of the entire house but after much thought we knew it was the right thing to do. I trusted your input and recognized that because you were familiar with the house you would quickly understand the needs. Over the course of the project we both appreciated your attention to detail and your taking the time to explain the process so that we understood what you were doing and what was to come. We knew there would be a need for holes in the wall but with your expert knowledge, patience and attention to detail you were able to minimize the holes in the wall. I appreciated how you cleaned up each day and provided us a daily schedule. You have truly eased our minds and helped us really understand the importance of moving from knob and tube to up to date safe electrical. We feel safer and more secure in our home and that means a great deal to our entire family. You have truly helped us move closer to completing our dream. Thank you so much and we both look forward to working with you on future projects. Leslie and Trevor
Leland did a fantastic job re-wiring a ceiling fan. He was prompt, professional, and very reasonable. I would definitely recommend him for any electrical work.
The work that Karl performed for me was extensive since I have a 5000sq. ft. home. I will describe each area of the job. Plumbing: Replaced all fixtures in 3 bathrooms including underneath all sinks hot and cold water valves. Cleaned out all drains in sinks and showers. Cleaned out main drain to house ensuring no back up within entire house. Electrical: Installed Gfi plugs wherever necessary. Installed carbon monoxide/fire sensors throughout house, including garage. Removed old light fixtures and installed recessed lights in bathroom ceiling. Installed new light fixture in entrance of home. Removed old lights around perimeter of house and installed outdoor security lights. Removed old appliances in kitchen; installed new oven, gas stove top, new washer and electrical dryer. Master bedroom fixed recessed lighting that was not working, also installed magnification mirror at makeup area. Replaced garage door opener that was not working and made sure that all remotes were programmed and working, five in total. Tile Work: Finished tile work in home that was started by another contractor and left unfinished. Was very concerned that work would not match up but Karl completed job beautifully! And Karl was very, very conscientious in making sure there was no grout debris left on tile, unlike previous work that was done. Karl cleaned previous workers tiles and sealed tile whereas other contractor left undone. Went throughout house and fixed any missing grout from tile work done in previous years, with good match up. In one bathroom I didn't want the old tile removed but it was very dirty. He cleaned up tile to look new. Cleaned up all tile in bathroom shower stalls. Replaced grout on veranda outside kitchen. Paint: Karl's paint work was clean and concise. If I wasn't happy with any of his work, he would go back and do as asked with a very positive attitude because he wanted me to be happy. It was all about what I wanted, not what he wanted. Always with a smile and concern for my feelings. Stucco and Grout Outside Home: Steps and railing leading to front door were badly damaged due to earth settlement. Filled all cracks and secured railing. Filled all hairline cracks wherever necessary on outside of home and repainted. General Construction: Changed out all hardware on all doors throughout house. Built me 3 closets, one in former office which I turned into a bedroom. In family room I had 2 closets, one he redid into a space for an office installing electrical and bringing in lines for Internet connection. He then took an office desk for the computer that I had in office, cut it down to fit within closet therefore creating an office within closet whereby I could close doors when finished working. Installed all computer equipment, wifi, printers, etc. The other closet he built shelves and coat rack, all from scratch. Cleaned all my kitchen cabinets and put a clear coat on for shine. Cleaned and polished all laminate countertops in kitchen for shine to bring back luster. Installed water filtration system in kitchen. Hung new rods for curtains in bedrooms. Cleaned all vents and replaced air filters in whole house. Inventoried all keys to all doors and had copies made and labeled for all doors throughout home. Installed security locks to pool room and sliding glass doors leading to balcony off kitchen for child-proofing. General, General: Karl is a jack of all trades and can do ANYTHING. He also does computer work, can solve or come up with any solution that you may have a problem with. He thinks outside the box. If you know how to ask and communicate, be clear and concise with what you want done, be honest in your request for a job done, Karl is YOUR MAN. He is EXTREMELY FAIR, has a CONSCIENCE! and wants to please. Your responsibility is to be those things in kind. Karl is a huge find. I kept him working for about a year because there were so many things to be done. I actually and honestly was sad that the project ended. Karl is now my go to because I turned my house into a rental. He is on call for any and all projects because I know that he is reliable and trustworthy.
James worked for me while I was with Vallejo Music Theatre. He built two 8' pony walls, installed a door, built portable staging and deconstructed a bathroom readying it for installation of a kitchen. James worked diligently, with knowledge and craftsmanship. He completed his tasks on time and worked well with others on the projects. If VMT had continued with its project we would have hired him as the main carpenter in develoment of a kitchen and on other projects. Should I need him on personal home projects, I would not hesitate to hire him.
