Has helped me learn to play my Irish wood D flute. Very knowledgable and communicates in as easily understandable way. Makes learning the wood flute enjoyable not tedious.

Nathaniel is an outstanding teacher. He is very engaged, and hands-on. He clearly believes the maxim ‘we learn by doing,’ so be prepared to play. He is great at explaining the ‘why,’ but be ready to spend most of the time practicing the how. He obviously knows music and music theory back to front, but the best part about him is his passion, which he will share with you.

Nathanial’s wizardly technical ability, encyclopedic knowledge, and fluency in virtually all genres make him a considerable musical expert; his lucid view of music as both an artform and a business, as well as his razor-sharp critical candor and generous, good-humored energy, make him a truly great teacher. I’m lucky to have learned from him. Two thumbs up!

Amazing saxophone player! Hired him to play at a birthday party for my Aunt, played a Kenny G song. Everyone loved his performance and he showed up on time!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I’m reasonable
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Everyone wants something different when taking private lessons. Lessons are mostly about learning how to express yourself, not how to be a professional musician. I individually try to find the balance between gratification and challenge that satisfies what each student is looking for.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended the Colburn School for Jazz the Berklee School and The New School for Jazz. I’ve been giving lessons and gigging through all of that.
