Alfredo was the best! I had a sip n paint for my wife's birthday and it was a large group. He was patient and kept everyone engaged. Everyone had a great time, especially my wife. Communication was great and after giving him several portrait options, he picked the best that worked with the group's skills. There were lots of great paintings! A pleasure to work with and I highly recommend him.

TLDR-Hire him! Not only is Alfredo an outstanding painter (seriously-look up his work), he is an excellent teacher (and I am an experienced educator myself so I know what it takes!). He explains concepts thoroughly and recommends artists and books to study so you understand the science behind the beauty. But it's not all theory! We paint every single session. Once I started applying the fundamentals (drawing, perspective, color mixing) and Alfredo's teachings to my paintings, I noticed drastic improvements (see my before/after photo-after 6 weeks of classes). I still improve EVERY painting. Lastly, even though his work is bona-fide museum quality art, he makes producing high quality art feel accessible if you just learn how. Overall, I highly recommend him!

I inadvertently sent this guy a message stating I was interested in art lessons for my grandson.... However, I did not realize that he lives in California and we would not be able to utilize his services, since we live in VA... When he called and realized that he could not be of assistance to me he became very anxious, and agitated, and demanded that I respond to his message that he sent to me on Thumbtack so that they would reimburse him a referral fee that they obviously charge people who advertise their businesses with them... I may not have received art lessons but there was a lesson learned!!! I will never use Thumbtack or other referral companies like it... Alfredo, as a professional, I would use my advertising dollars more wisely... please accept my apology for not understanding how Thumbtack operates... I hope that you get reimbursed your $38 for my inquiry!!!
