I can’t say it was an easy route bc by far it wasn’t! This experience has been by far one of the hardest obstacles I’ve ever had to encounter! I’ve been back in school and pretty much training myself through the whole process or at least it felt like I was alone struggling to make this happen but I’m now realizing that I have a whole Network of people on my side! You guys have given me what they call tough Love! I feel like a renewed & young again (speaking of mentally!) LoL I am just getting started! Have a whole life ahead of me! I’ll never be done learning! Always be helping, contributing, giving, achieveing and being all I can be! If for some reason I fail at a job I’ll still have my children and my children are the most important thing in this world to me! I’ve lost my twin sister years back and my life has been downward since then! John , thank you for that tough Loving! They are the reason I’ve changed! I thank God everyday for helping me to overcome my issues I once had! I look forward to coaching right along side of John! We all need to start helping one another even the small things can make a huge difference ! Anyone like to join in on change?! All is welcome! I’d like to thank all of those that were involved! I've been working with Arya for about 18 months and I could not be happier with my experience. In our sessions, we focus primarily on how to navigate potential career opportunities and how to understand behavioral patterns that may hinder personal and professional relationships. Without question, his coaching has completely changed the way I understand myself, my behaviors, and the way I hope to interact with the world. He has a pragmatic approach to meeting me where I am, whether that be practical tips to reduce anxiety at work or coping with uncertainty and risk about major life decisions. The sessions have become increasingly more insightful as he learns more and more about me. As others have mentioned, he's also extremely kind, open-hearted, and trained to tackle a spectrum of life's challenges. Far and away the best coach/therapist/spiritual advisor I have ever encountered.

I am a mid-career professional seeking to change direction and I couldn’t have ask for a better Career Coach than Dr. Milwid. Dr. Milwid is a skilled guide. She begins by leading you through a self-exploration that helps you understand not only what you’re looking for but also what you have to offer. She then turns tactical and offers extremely helpful and practical guidance for restructuring the primary documents needed for an effective job search: your resume and cover letters. Throughout, Dr. Milwid shares relevant articles and research and brings to bear her decades of experience advising people and her own multi-faceted career. Dr. Milwid is also extremely encouraging and a genuine pleasure to work with. You’ll leave your sessions with Dr. Milwid feeling energized and prepared to embark on a targeted and effective job search. I feel lucky to have worked with her and am confident you’ll feel the same.

Thank you, WAM Consulting! After years at a well known tech company in Silicon Valley I was presented with a new job opportunity. I reached out to Andrea at WAM for career coaching and leadership guidance. Andrea was amazing at evaluating my needs as a person, what my long term goals were and how I could achieve them. I will continue to work with Andrea and the team at WAM. They have a strong team of subject matter experts across many categories.

I have used consulting/coaching company before meeting Mr. Mourad and spent thousands of Dollars without seeing much noticeable results until I met my "Action Coach", Mr. Mourad in which I saw an immediate jump in my income in the first month. When working with Mourad the first thing you notice is that he takes your success as a personal responsibility of his and put his heart into it. He is teaching me not only to be a Business man but a leader, a mentor, a good reader and helped me refine my vision and the way I look into things. I highly recommend him and I'm very grateful and thankful to him.

Cynthia worked with me as a life coach for a couple months. I had talked with a few life/career coaches here and there, and Cynthia was the only one I wanted and chose to work with due to her professionalism, integrity, intelligence and creativity. Even if I was confused or pessimistic, she would work tirelessly to find the positive qualities and kernels of truth I could build on and work from.

I found Teresa to be a great source of nutritional info as well as a great listener during a what was a difficult time for me. I had a number of questions about my specific food habits and what to change. I was sick of my own bad habits. Teresa made sure to address all of my concerns. I found her very advice very practical and udown to earth. She was upbeat and positive about the changes I had already made, and the immediate and future benefits I would feel, which made it easier to think about changing. It wasn't that she just encouraged me to eat a ton of green veggies. What helped is the way she said this. She was empathetic and said things in a way I could hear. For example, she was able to share how she loves cooking up a plate of fresh kale or other greens with olive oil. That way, I could think of greens as something I would actually want to eat a lot of. Thanks, Teresa!

Mr. Cicerchi spent 3 years in the Peace Corps working in rural areas of Peru under uncomfortable conditions, lacking basic services and surrounded by people with poor understanding. He has been successful in implementing program goals and objectives. He has developed good skills to deal with children and youth. He has organized youth groups to implement diverse activities related to education and the environment. He is very good at training and keeping youth focused and motivated. In addition, he was in charge of managing a group of Peace Corps volunteers working in the Junin National Reserve, being responsible for institutional coordination and technical and personal support for volunteers, which he performed effectively. Mr. Cicerchi has been very efficient in communicating with targeted groups, students and local people, he was successful in transferring knowledge and our program messages. I have a high appreciation for David Cicerchi. He is both a good professional and a nice person.

I have known Reverend Lucinda Martin for over 5 years and have had the blessing to receive spiritual guidance from her in many aspects of my life. I first met her when I was looking for someone to officiate my wedding. It was very important to my fiancé and I to have an outdoor wedding but still keep Catholic Tradition in our cermony. Upon meeting Lucinda, I immediately felt her passion and love for helping others in their spiritual path. She is warm, open and non judgemental. This was essential to me in my search. After seeing how beautiful our cermony was I decided to start both individual and couples spiritual guidance sessions. In the sessions I learned new tools on how to navigate my life in a more peaceful and serene way. One of my favorites is the spiritual mind treatment. Spiritual mind treatment is a format of writing out a prayer to release wounds, hurts and bring forth virtues you want. This process has drawn me closer to my Catholic Faith and enriched my life in so many ways. I continued on in my journey with Lucinda. I received career guidance, a celebration of life when my beloved bunny died and many tools to navigate life's challenges in a more peaceful way. I know I would not be where I'm at now, without Lucinda's love, support and guidance. I strongly recommend her in all her services. She is a non biased person that has helped me grow in all aspects of my faith journey. If you are looking for a deeper connection in faith, an interfaith wedding officient, career guidance, celebration of life, or simply a satchel of tools to navigate through life in a spiritually balanced way; I urge you to go with Lucinda. Blessings to you in your journey. Lauren W

Dave helped me hone in on goals in all areas of my life - personal, career, fitness - and helped me figure out a workable, achievable plan for making progress in each area. The really great thing is how he interwove those areas - engaging me in conversations about my relationships, for example, while walking or riding our bikes - so that I was actually ACHIEVING progress in every area during the time we spent together. Dave is laser-focused and you have his undivided attention, he is 100% present and there for YOU. You never get the feeling he's rushing you or just killing time until his next client or appointment. Even when I haven't been able to show up in person, Dave will get on the phone with me to make sure I'm staying on track; our conversations have always helped me clarify my thinking. Maybe most importantly - Dave CARES. He really, truly cares about you and your life and helping you reach a more positive, balanced, healthier life. I feel blessed to have him in my life!!

I found Navigating Transitions on www.meetup.com. I was interested in attending the February event as I am a Georgia attorney specializing in bankruptcy and real estate law, but living in the Bay Area. Since I am not a licensed attorney in California, I was looking for alternative careers. Since I am still new to California, I was hoping to start establishing a network base. When I went to the Navigating Transitions meet-up, I was relieved that it was a small gathering so we could do more than a 2 minute pitch to each other. As an introvert, Kristina was great at helping everyone feel at ease. It turned out everyone was open about their concerns about transitioning into a different career. It was nice to hear other people had the same concerns that was running through my head. After discussing my background, Kristina said there was an attorney she wanted me to meet. Within two days, Kristina reached out to the attorney who then scheduled a networking meeting with me. Prior to the networking meeting, Kristina called me and gave me good advice on how to make the most of the meeting. I was excited that I was meeting another attorney! I was even more excited when the networking meeting eventually turned into a job opportunity! I have no one else but Kristina to thank for connecting me to my new career. I recommend attending the monthly meeting at least once. You never know who you'll meet, or how you'll meet your future employer!

Wendy played a major role in how I was able to realign my life to be more purposeful and gain control of my future. Before I started my sessions with Wendy, I worked at a decent job with above average pay but extremely low job satisfaction in an industry I could care less about and a role I strongly disliked. I am sure this describes most of us! I knew I wasn't truly happy, and Wendy helped me take inventory of my life. She challenged me to think deeper about what kind of life I wanted going forward. With Wendy's help, great patience, and her asking me all the right questions, and through different assessments, I realized it was time (and felt ready) to switch careers, back to what I've always wanted to do. Once we figured that part out, she helped me with resume review, cover letter review, and interviewing techniques through mock interviews. Now I can say I am finally doing what I studied in college, which is what I've wanted all along! If you are looking for a coach or feel that something is off in your life then I would suggest reaching out to Wendy and starting the conversation to create meaningful change in your life.

Savvy Success Unlimited has helped us with both College Board Exam prep (ACT/SAT) for both our kids. Her prep program helped them improve their scores. She also worked with our son during the college selection and application process, keeping him on track with his essays and applications, and teaching him how to research each school on his list to find out the best fit for him. She is now working with our daughter on her college application process, and her work quality, patience, professionalism, responsiveness and value is already apparent. She is usually punctual but always communicates with us if she is running late from a previous client.

When Lindsay and I started our work together, I was lost and overwhelmed by the career search. I felt trapped into a prescribed role by my previous job skills, and unable to see a future where I could someday like my job and use my skills to better the world. Lindsay helped me to be realistic and practical about the experiences of my past and my goals for the future. We went through my work history and past roles, and she listened attentively to the challenges and triumphs that led me to where I am today. With her guidance, I was able to clearly come up with a framework for evaluating my next opportunities. She provided human accountability and self-imposed deadlines to keep me on track, and I am pleased to say our work ended with me feeling empowered and in control. Directly through her advice in how to seek out new jobs, I found a part-time role I'm working in now and have a final round interview with a potential dream employer. If you're not sure about career coaching or Lindsay in general, I can't recommend this experience more enthusiastically. She makes the daunting challenge of a career transition feel like an obvious step in the right direction, and for that I am very grateful.

My testimonial to you Arash Ghiasi: When Arash appeared in my life I was on the edge of losing all hope in humanity and giving up on life itself. I had poured my services, time, and efforts into multiple business opportunity ventures working aside owners with no integrity. I was left high and dry and not a penny to show for it. Arash literally pulled me out of the trenches of hell and misery and revived me back to life. His kind, nurturing words and spirit I could feel directly through the phone as he prayed for me. Not only did I have a spiritual awakening, and found my relationship with God again, be he instilled in me a new sense of self-confidence. Arash then provided me with tools, guidance, mentoring, and coaching enabling me to create a life I thought was impossible on my own. He lit the fire within me so much so that I hit the ground running pursuing my passion in the fitness and wellness industry I had left behind two years ago. As a business-minded, entrepreneur-driven, and educated woman I have found my lane and calling of performing God’s work in helping people transform their lives mind to body AND spirit! In a span of the three short weeks I have worked with Arash I have taken my business and life to a whole new level! I have new eyes to see and new mind to think in the way God would want me to think. I have now rebranded myself and my business, and have generated a steady flow of leads who have turned into new clients! I truly believe my guardian angel grandmother and God sent Arash to direct me and regain my faith. He coached me step by step how “fish” and get my feet back on the ground. I am the living and breathing testament of how Arash can and will revolutionize your life. Eternally grateful, and blessed. ~Kasia B. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

      What is a life coach?

A professional, accredited life coach works with people to help them make important changes in their life, either growing in their profession or changing gears in their personal lives. They help clients turn their dreams or wishes into realistic, attainable goals. They guide people through the process of making life changes by helping them evaluate the steps they must take to reach a particular goal, then help them decide how — and whether — to take those steps in the most efficient, effective and rewarding way possible. A life coach acts as a motivator, strategist and accountability partner. Unlike a therapist, a life coach doesn’t help solve problems from your past — they’re focused on helping you move forward with new ways of acting and thinking that will help you reach your goals. Some people specialize in particular types of life coaching, including life balancing coaches, small business coaches, executive coaches and personal finance coaches. Some meet clients in person, while others hold consultations over the phone.

Regardless of which type of life coach you’re interested in, make sure the person holds an International Coach Federation (ICF) credential. There are three tiers of credentials: Associate, Professional and Master, which require coaching experience ranging from 100 hours to 2,500 hours.

      What is a career coach?

If you’re interested in furthering your career and want expert help, a career coach is a smart solution. A career coach is a professional you hire to guide you during a job search or a career transition, or to help you improve and advance in your current position. A career coach analyzes your work situation and learns what your professional goals are. They then create a strategy to help you achieve your targets. Throughout the process they should provide objective feedback and guide you in approaching the process strategically. Here are some of the tools and tasks a career coach may assist you with:

      • Helping you build a strong resume that reflects your work history, potential, and skills
      • Coaching for interviews and strategies for solid answers built around your resume and the target job
      • Defining your career goals
      • Creating a plan for job searching
      • Improving networking strategies and skills
      • Developing strategies for negotiating raises or promotions
      • Assessing why you’re not getting where you want to go
      • Identifying new positions or career opportunities that fit your skills

How much does a life coach cost?

A life coach helps clients set and reach professional and personal goals, develop positive habits, and deal with stress. Some people meet with a life coach once or twice, while others form an ongoing professional relationship, meeting regularly in person or on the phone. The average national cost to meet with a life coach ranges from $80 to $130 an hour. Some coaches offer per-session pricing, especially for one-time meetings; expect to pay an average of $100-$125. People who want to work with a coach over a period of time to explore life transitions, career growth or lifestyle changes may be able to get discounted pricing in a package. For example, three 60-minute sessions cost an average of $300, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $350, and four 60- to 90-minute sessions plus unlimited contact between sessions cost an average of $400. Some specific types of coaching, such as relationship or marriage coaching, cost more than standard life coaching. For instance, three 60-minute relationship coaching sessions cost an average of $500, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $550, and six 60- to 90-minute sessions cost an average of $650 when purchased as a package. Training and experience can also affect the cost of hiring a life coach. An Associate Certified Coach, who holds a certification that requires only 60 hours of training and 100 hours of coaching experience, will charge less than a Master Certified Coach, who typically has at least 200 hours of training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience.

      Why is career counseling important?

Career counseling can help you discover your career path, help you overcome challenges preventing you from finding happiness in your job, or help you learn more about career opportunities that are available to you. Career counselors are typically counselors who specialize in helping guide people into their best career choices. As professionals, they have typically completed a master’s degree in counseling with a focus on career counseling and bring a nuanced understanding of the emotional blocks that prevent someone from doing what they love or getting ahead in their current position. Here are some of the ways that career counseling can help:

      • Identify your skills and talents and how they correlate to different career paths
      • Educate you about the educational requirements for launching in various careers and what earnings can look like
      • Help you understand the kind of environment you want to work in, and which careers are best suited for that
      • See opportunities to transfer your existing skill set to other career areas
      • Help you identify causes of tension or unhappiness in your current career and how to overcome those difficulties
      • Help you create a game plan for moving forward
      • Provide a safe space for you to understand your feelings about career choices you’re making

How much does it cost to hire a career coach?

A career coach provides one-on-one sessions to help you reach your career goals or overcome any challenges you’re having in your career path. The cost to have career coaching can vary based on factors such as the number of sessions you purchase at one time and the experience and rates of your counselor. Career counselors are typically professionals who have earned at least a master’s degree in their field. Based on their academic background, supplemental certifications they have received, and any postdoctoral work they have done, their rates may vary. Typically career counselors offer reduced rates when you sign on for their services on an ongoing basis. A typical price range for career counseling services (nationally) could be $75-$150 per session. Remember to always ask if the career counselor offers a complimentary introductory session. You want to make sure the relationship will be the right personality and counseling style fit to help launch your confidence and upcoming career changes.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
