I always wanted to take singing lessons but never had the opportunity and courage. Mindy made everything easy. She is patient, competent and always greeting you with a smile. That's why I decided to take piano lessons as well ;)
Sarah is amazing! I had only had about 4 lessons with Sarah when my friends wanted to go out for karaoke. None of my friends knew I was taking singing lessons and they were surprised. I got so many compliments! I was so happy that even just after a few lessons, I could already take away tools that Sarah taught me and put them into action! I was very lucky to find her. I had searched for awhile for a vocal coach and they were either too expensive, really far or in group setting (which I was too nervous to do being a beginner). I very much enjoy my one-on-one lessons with her. She's so sweet and makes you feel so welcomed and keeps you in good spirits about training your voice! I will definitely be continuing my lessons with her! Thank you Sarah!! :)
I've been taking guitar and singing lessons with David for a few months, and I've got to say I've had a really great time learning from him! David is an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable teacher who clearly cares about his students and their goals, and better still has played and performed with the artists that I like best. It took me a while to find a teacher who was willing to teach me the music I wanted to play instead of starting with their core competence, so it was really refreshing that within a month or two with plenty of practice I was able to learn one of my favorite songs (Three Rounds and a Sound by Blind Pilot, if you're curious), and a little longer to start singing it, which I was really stoked about. He has been great about breaking things down when the piece we're working on is too challenging. David has also pushed me to pursue my goal of creating music, helping along the way to create melodies and lyrics. I have to say, it takes a great teacher to get me to sing and to share lyrics with them (do you know how embarrassing that can be?). I could go on, but suffice it to say, David is a great teacher, and I'm really glad I started taking lessons with him.
Over the years I have received instruction from Donna through piano lessons and participation in various choirs she has conducted. I am impressed with her knowledge, expertise, kindness, and patience. I am especially thankful for the way I have been instructed to sing so that I do not harm my voice....and in the piano instruction that includes education in the instrument - its history and how it works - and arm and hand technique when playing.
Been singing for many years and surprised to still be learning so much. Juan is quite professional and disciplined. He identifies where you need work and starts with fundamentals. You can't fake it with him; he'll know! I recommend going into it with a clear goal and he'll design a program for you.
Learning from Ann was, simply put: GREAT. I felt like I finally found a vocal teacher who knew how to help me improve and then go on to teach me more as a singer. I had tried 3 other vocal teachers in my life, and 2 others in my current city. Upon finding Ann, I felt like I found someone who was serious, and someone who had serious knowledge about singing. She taught me proper technique and really helped me to improve where my singing faltered. She was always prepared and ready to teach me as soon as I arrived. When I found out she was leaving, I was upset and "bummed out", for lack of a better word. She is a great instructor and teacher, and I would absolutely take more lessons with her!
I have really enjoyed working with Liz this past year. The techniques that she teaches not only elevate your singing skills, but also improve overall vocal quality and performance. Liz is great about addressing all aspects of the vocal experience, and still making it fun to learn and improve!
Our 13 year old daughter has absolutely loved her singing lessons with Liz over the past year! Liz is consistently bright and positive while advancing our daughter's singing abilities on many levels. We also enjoyed seeing Liz perform in a bilingual musical play for children. We attended with parents, and kids from ages 7 to 17, and we all loved the experience and Liz's impressive singing and acting. Great job, Liz!
My lessons with Miriam are awesome! She's not just teaching me about singing or how to use my voice but also everything around it like posture and emotions. She helps and encourages me to push my limit, expanding my vocal range. I'm really enjoying my lesson with her and always looking forward to our next session!
I have known Lynn for 35 years and you cannot ask for a better piano teacher. Lynn started teaching me piano 35 years ago, and now she is teaching my daughter. Lynn is extremely caring, knowledgeable and passionate. Our daughter has flourished since beginning piano lessons with Lynn 2 years ago; she is playing advanced songs that most students her age wouldn't be able to play. Lynn makes learning piano fun, and our daughter enjoys practicing daily without us having to remind her. We are very happy to have Lynn as our teacher, and would encourage anyone interested in piano to call her first.
Had a pleasant session with Ben. He made me feel good about my singing, even though I am not that great but he gave me inspiration to be better. All the while we had fun.
Sarah participated in the St. John's choir and also took private vocal lessons with Emily to improve her singing and confidence. We found Emily to be fun, responsible, engaging, and we saw great improvements in Sarah's abilities during her time with Emily. Additionally, I will emphasize that Emily has great skill in working with a variety of personalities, including expert skills in working with special needs kids.
We have been working with Ms. White since January 2016. My boys, ages 6 and 7 walked out of their very first lesson knowing “Mary Had A Little Lamb” and this quick, concrete “take away” gave them a sense of excitement and confidence! Ms. White is very thoughtful with her instruction. She has realistic and responsive goals--like helping accommodate a variety of sports seasons and understanding the difference between her student’s temperament and attention span. She has nurtured an intrinsic and age appropriate interest and exposure to the world of piano playing. My boys pick up and play piano on their own and they love teaching their father and me their new skills. I would highly recommend Ms. White for piano lessons.
Chris is a really good musician and teacher. Some musicians are so good they forget what it's like to 'not know'. Chris can be with you, where you're at even though he is a highly skilled player. His patience is very encouraging. It's inspiring to take lessons with him and to remember we all NEED music!
I wholeheartedly recommend vocal lessons with Mark! I leave our sessions inspired and feel I now have a priceless and foundational understanding of technique. Lessons are fun and informative. Mark is the best!
Olivia has been the choir director for the Brentwood United Methodist Church for the last couple of years. She has directed the choir weekly plus a multitude of other activities. The production of the Christmas cantatas have been wonderful and very professional . Her knowledge and expertise is exceptional. I am looking forward to another year of singing with her choir. Even as a professional singer who has made appearances on America's Got Talent, The Singoff, and X-Factor, and who has performed as a Backup Singer for Justin Bieber, Usher, and Mary J Blige, I believe there is always room for improvement. Ross has been an amazing vocal instructor for me. I've worked with Ross for over two years, and he has helped open up my voice, tone and range. Singing as a baritone/bass most of my life, Ross was the first instructor to tell me that I was a tenor. Previous to Ross' instruction, singing any note above a middle F meant either yelling or transitioning to falsetto. Once I started working with Ross, I was able to sing an F# comfortably, then a G, then a G#. And it hasn't stopped. Ross uses classical technique, exercises, and visualization to help open up your voice. In addition, to Ross' technical expertise, he is also very easy to work with. He has a welcoming and comedic personality that makes every lesson fun. I would highly recommend Ross as a vocal instructor for singers at any level in their career. Natalie has been fantastic to work with! Her instruction through exercises, general tips/suggestions, and specific ideas when working on a particular song has all been stellar and on point throughout my work with her. I feel like I have improved dramatically over the course of our lessons, and my band members have made several comments about my improvement as well. She has an uncanny knack for knowing what I am doing with my breath, diaphragm, throat, mouth, etc., and being able to suggest just the right adjustments to make things sound better and more comfortable to sing. Natalie is a wonderful person, too, very encouraging, supportive, and respectful. I highly, highly recommend her!!
Lessons from Michael are great. He is great about tweaking sessions to your personal needs to specifically target and prioritize what someone may be struggling with most at that time. He is very encouraging and his experience really shows in the lessons.
I've been taking singing lessons with Cherie for about a year. I've always wanted to perform at open mics and maybe start a band but I knew I had some work to do before feeling confident. So I started singing lessons with Cherie to help prepare me for performance but we also spent a lot of time growing my voice. I realized I had a much bigger range than I'd thought. BTW - I'm also a beginner guitarist and we sometimes have guitar lessons too. She's a great guitarist and singer. So I really feel like she's the best out there for that type of work. If you want to not only work on your voice but learn how to perform and have a fun time in general - I'd book Cherie for lessons. She's a pro :-)
