Kevin H. says, "When I first started working with Adam I was upfront with my limitations, equipment, challenges, and my goals. Adam was incredibly patient and took the time to understand the best plan for me and instead of applying a generic routine, he customized a plan that would best suit me and my schedule. I have a home gym with minimal equipment and I sent him a picture of all I had: a bench with a bar, some medicine balls, some bands, and that's pretty much it. With that alone, Adam was able to build a weekly workout with 3 different routines from just those few photos I shared with him. A routine for legs, a routine for back, and routine for everything else. He built an entire spreadsheet with the name of the exercise, reps, and even a YouTube video tutorial on how to do these exercises. I dropped about 20 pounds in about 2 months and unlocked a whole set of exercises I didn't think possible with what little equipment I had. If you want a trainer that understands you and puts in the extra effort, Adam is your guy."See more

Patty S. says, "⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Life-Changing Trainer – Best Investment in Myself! At 61 years old, I worked working with Jessica Wingerty for 5 months and the results were incredible. From the very beginning, she created a personalized plan that combined smart strength training with clear nutrition and macro goals. Jessica made everything manageable and sustainable for my age and lifestyle. In just 5 months, I’ve lost 25 lbs, dropped 4 inches from my waist, and 4.5 inches from my hips. I’m stronger, more energetic, and feel better in my body than I have in years. The best part is knowing I achieved this at 61 — it’s never too late! Jessica is knowledgeable, patient, encouraging, and truly invested in my progress. She adjusted the workouts and macros based on how my body responds and keep me motivated every step of the way. If you’re over 50 (or any age!) and serious about getting healthy with real, lasting results, I highly recommend Jessica . This has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for my health. mihaela haas says, "I just celebrated my 1 yr anniversary at Training by Tye. Im so very happy I joined a year ago before my birthday. Best present to myself !During covid I started lifting weights and found out that I really liked it. Of course I needed help with form and progression because I didnt really know what I was doing. Soon after I saw a post from my friend recommending her gym. I was hesitant and nervous about joining another gym and not sticking with it.Well I can honestly say that Training By Tye is not like any other gym. Coach Tye is awesome and she really knows her stuff! She is a knowledgeable and experienced trainer that really puts in the work for you. All you have to do is show up and want to put in the effort to see results. The workouts are well planned to hit several major muscle groups per session / per week. They are challenging and fun. If you need modifications she always has you covered. The classes are small so you get personal attention. The other members are nice, welcoming and encouraging. There is no judgment, everyone is at a different place in their health and fitness journey and we cheer each other on to do our best.Tye covers all aspects of health and fitness, in class, through email and on various social media platforms. The workouts are different every month and you never get bored.I'm eating better and moving more than I was prior to joining. I have more energy and I sleep better. Im less stressed and I know I am definitely stronger and leaner than I was a year ago. I look forward to my workouts and really enjoy going to the gym because Tye makes it fun and rewarding. If you are looking to get fit, lose weight, gain muscle, become more active, or just improve your overall health then I highly recommend TBT!!"See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

The cost of fitness boot camps depends on how often you go, the package you are purchasing (or if you are paying a drop-in fee), the location of the bootcamp, the equipment the instructors provide, and the background and reputation of the instructor. Smaller towns and areas with a lower cost of living typically have lower rates for boot camp services than big cities and regions with a higher cost of living. If you’re paying per class on a drop-in basis, expect to pay anywhere from $12 to $25 or more, depending on the region and the instructor. When you purchase a package of classes, typically the more you buy at one time, the cheaper each class is. The same boot camp class might be $20 for a drop-in student, $15 for a student who pays for 10 classes per month, and $10 for a student who pays for 30 classes a month. Studio space can also affect costs, so if your boot camp takes place in a high-end gym with top-of-the-line equipment, the prices will likely be higher than a class that meets in an outdoor space with limited or no equipment. Shop around to find the right type of boot camp class and the right instructor for you.

Fitness boot camps are a heart-pounding way to boost your fitness level. Boot camps are led by a fitness instructor and are based on the concept of military boot camps — intensive workout programs to get new recruits into shape, quickly. Fitness boot camps encourage camaraderie, and the group momentum helps participants get through fast-paced intervals of cardio, isometric training, strength training and endurance drills. Classes may range anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes, and usually meet multiple days per week. Boot camps often run a specific duration of time, say four to six weeks, which creates a team-like environment for class members. Other boot camps run year-round and students purchase package pricing for classes, similar to subscriptions that allow them a set amount of classes per week or per month.

Boot camps can be held indoors at a gym, outdoors in a park or on a beach, in a backyard — anywhere there’s room for running, jumping and sweating. Some instructors also provide DVD and online boot camps. You can also find boot camps tailored to your heart’s desire, such as bikini boot camp, or boot camps for new mothers. Boot camps offer an intense workout and are usually led by energetic instructors pushing you to do your best, but unlike military boot camp drill sergeants, fitness boot camp instructors typically don’t use intimidation or punishment to spur you on. Check with your doctor before starting a boot camp if you have health concerns, and always let your instructor know ahead of time if you have injuries.
