We used Jeff to clean our bathroom tiles that were covered in grout haze and excess grout. It was a horrible mess, which neither my husband nor I thought could be salvaged shy of replacing most of the stone tiles. Jeff looked it over, brought in his equipment, and in a reasonable amount of time and at a very reasonable cost, he and Alicia put a totally new face on the bathroom. Before leaving I asked Jeff to look at a spot on our carpet that had been an eyesore for a very long time. Without hesitation he cleaned the whole area, got the spot, renewed the carpet, and all for a very small additional cost. We plan to use Jeff in the future and we highly recommend him, Alicia, and Designer Carpet Care!

I called Rodriquez after our regular carpet cleaner didn't return my calls - and on short notice. The owner, Colby, answered the call t 8:30 Thursday evening, and we booked him for Saturday at 3:ooPM. He arrived erly, and was very accommodating. The job was done in an hour, and looks great. Price was very good, and everything was cleaned up nicely. I recommend his services highly!

These cleaners were perfect for what I needed them for - my house was overwhelmingly dirty and had lots of little things that needed to be done and these women got them done! That being said, they were 30 minutes late and didn't call to let me know. When they got here, they said they made it within their grace period. That's fine if a company has a grace period for people to come, but I'd like to know that up front for scheduling purposes, but no one mentioned that during scheduling. Additionally, I noticed a few things didn't get done after they left. They didn't clean the bathroom floor and there were still spots left under the oven from when she cleaned. These were little things compared to the detailed cleaning they did in my office, living room and bedroom, but still, I feel like for the amount I paid, these should have been done. The workers themselves were friendly, easy to communicate with, hard-working and professional. They brought all their own supplies, but had a vacuum problem or something (told them they were welcome to use mine) and didn't have enough carpet cleaner for the cleaner they rented (I had some on hand so they didn't have to go out and buy more). Overall, I would probably hire them again for general cleaning, but not if I needed things done for a specific event or for a move out. I also learned I should do a spot check before they leave, but that's more about me learning to be a more responsible service user.

First time with: 1) Thumbtack 2) Cleaning Service 3) Belleza's 4) Posting Reviews That being said, these two are true professionals. They came into a house owned by 3 men (28-30) and had the house cleaner then when we moved in 5+ years ago. I really cannot say enough good things about my experience. I guess the thing that should motivate others the most to trust them is that based on my experience, I will 100% be having them return in the future on a scheduled basis. My best, Ray

We were having issues with our plumbing, it was backed up. The toilet and the showers were draining slowly which meant our main line was backed up. They came the next day and addressed the situation. Michael suggested we install a cleanout and gave us a very good price.

Elizabeth and her husband went above and beyond my expectations. Our roommate had left his bathroom so dirty when he moved out that I thought we would have to replace the tub. When Elizabeth was finished, it was much cleaner than I even thought possible. It looked like new. They cleaned every single inch of the bathroom including the ceiling! I would wholeheartedly recommend her services and will definitely call her again if I need a professional cleaner.

I got the $150 deep cleaning service. She is very responsive via email. Which I like and Very friendly and personable. She brings a four person staff, so cleaning can be done fast. Upon the first initial walk through of the house there were many small details that were missed. The floors were mopped but still black spots in some areas. The bathtub didn't even looked like it was clean. There was still a ring around the tub. I had to mention this to them and they fix it. I gave them an extra star for being open to my evaluation without giving me attitude about it. It looked much better after the 2nd scrub. I mentioned in my initial inquiry that my bathrooms really needed extra TLC. They were pretty gross. So when she mentioned deep cleaning I expected it have a bit more elbow grease involved. The toilets were not sparkling. They are only tolerable now. They still have a ring around the bottom. They didn't wipe the top lid of the toilet or the outside bowl area. There are corners in the kitchen that still need to be swept. When I say corners I mean, like, the deep ones that you have to bend over to see. My desk in my office wasn't wiped down either. However, I didn't want to push the issue any further because it was near 12:00pm and we really need to move onto other things. For a deep cleaning service, I felt like it was only satisfactory. For a regular cleaning service. I'm sure this would have been excellent.

I had a lovely experience with Patricia. After another cleaner cancelled on me with very short notice, Patricia jumped in and made herself available. She was very sweet, and had me check all of her work to make sure I was happy with it before she left. She worked quickly and left the house sparkling. She was even able to get some very hard water spots off of a shower that had already been "cleaned".

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

    • Old standard or electric toothbrush
    • Stiff bristle brush
    • Spray bottle
    • White vinegar
    • Commercial grout cleaner

How much do you pay for house cleaning?

Hiring a professional house cleaning service is a helpful way to have a healthy home even when your work and personal schedule is packed. House cleaning prices vary based on how many square feet your home is, how dirty your house gets, and how often the cleaning service comes. Some companies charge a set amount — such as 5 cents — per square foot, with a minimum amount, such as $100. The national average cost for house cleaning ranges between $110 and $150. Prices can be lower in areas with a lower cost of living, higher in big cities or affluent regions. You may save money by increasing the frequency of your house cleaning visits. Often a company will charge you less per cleaning when you schedule more cleanings per month. The cost advantage rewards your loyalty, and also reflects the fact that more frequent cleanings make it easier to maintain a high level of cleanliness in your home. A housecleaning service may charge more for the first visit or for one-time services than for recurring cleanings.

How much does it cost to deep clean a house?

Deep cleaning a house goes beyond the surface level to clear out the dust, grime and gunk that’s collecting on the fan blades, hiding in the blinds, and built up inside the refrigerator drawers. Deep cleaning of a home or apartment costs more than regular house cleaning because it takes more time, effort, and cleaning products. You may choose to have a deep cleaning once or several times a year in addition to your standard cleaning services. You may have a one-time deep cleaning to prepare for company or to clean after a house party. Companies may charge an hourly rate or a price per square foot, or may offer you a flat rate after they have visited your home and estimated work time. The national average house cleaning price is $110-$150, with rates ranging higher for deep-cleaning services. Here are some examples of how a company may calculate their deep-cleaning prices:

    • 10 cents per square foot (compared with 5 cents per square foot for standard house cleaning).
    • $300 for a 3,000-square-foot home.
    • $25 per hour per worker for deep-cleaning services.

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
