About this pro

How does your service stand out?

Each session, I focus on teaching a lesson tailored specifically to each students' needs and moving step by step accordingly based on a structured syllabus. If necessary, and at no cost to the student, I am willing to go overtime with the student to ensure that they go home with a clear understanding of their piano pieces and what is expected from them in their assigned homework. This allows for our lesson in the following week's session to be as productive as possible in order for us to move on to the next level and learn new music pieces. I also teach Music Theory classes to help sharpen students' skills and knowledge in music composition, and incorporate the use of iPads to supplement their instruction.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

I am passionate in teaching the art of music and piano to students that are willing to learn. Because studying piano is a commitment, I am able to determine if the student is engaging with the lesson well and whether their heart willingly enables them to learn piano earnestly. I especially enjoy encouraging my students, watching their piano skills improve over time, and witnessing them reap the benefits of their hard work as they develop their own love for piano.

Your children are both very good students; they listen and play sensitively. What a joy Listening to them play their piano piece(s) after each week of assignment. Their detailed practice really shows.

She gives me a couple of sight reading pieces each time that is very challenging and I like it. I have learned reading music in different way in Japan when I was child and she altered her way of teaching to my way so that I understand it better.

The lessons were purchased through Groupon. I was not able to continue lessons with her because of travel distance and time involved. Her lesson structure was excellent and she is a very accomplished musician. She needs to have her piano tuned. There were other costs I did not anticipate--registration fees and payment of other funds if I wanted to participate in a recital December. I can't emphasize enough how important it is to use a piano that is close to perfect.

Carol, It was nice meeting you during the two – 30 minute lesson course you had from me. (2 lesson option you bought from Groupon) As far as fees are concern as you’ve mentioned: in any school/ private lesson provider you are going to enroll, there is always an enrollment fee involve to cover miscellaneous materials which you can get back each lesson you will have, to name a few: the homework paper, blank music paper, the music pieces copies to supplement the lesson, the first three book as needed . All was written on the Piano Lesson Registration that was given to you at the first meeting for your review. And for the recital, that extra fee covers the recital hall rentals, snacks, décor, pictures and other miscellaneous expenses for the event. Regarding the piano: I understand your concern as a pianist, and I do know that a good investment in the instrument is worthwhile, I appreciate you emphasizing the importance of having a good piano and for information…. It was taken cared off for the benefit of my students and it’s recital ready. Hope to meet you again down the road, and good luck in your endeavor to go back into playing piano the way it was before and for finding a new teacher nearby where you live.

I have only had an assessment and one lesson. But, I think she will work out just fine for me. She follows the California Music Teacher Association syllabus. So, I know what I need to accomplish before moving on to the next level. She is very professional. That's just what I need.
