I have been a patient of Dr Husbands since 2008. I originally went to him with ovarian cysts that my doctor wanted to surgically remove. Dr. Husbands used a combination of dietary changes, lifestyle changes, and nutritional supplements. Two weeks later I had my pre-op exam and the cysts were gone; surgery was cancelled. I have continued to use his program and the cysts have not returned. As an extra bonus I was able to lose 5 lbs that had been around since my first pregnancy. My parents went to him after my success and they have been able to control their blood pressure and reverse their type 2 diabetes. He researched every medication they were taking so that nothing he suggested would create any negative side effects. Their health has really improved and they now have a lot more energy to play with their grandkids. Dr Husbands is really committed to his patients and is a wealth of knowledge. He is one of the few doctors I have ever met that I can say that I really trust.

It's hard for me to recommend Dr Husbands highly enough, he changed my life - seriously! Before I came to see him (I found him via an article he wrote on his blog about low stomach acid), I had been to 3 chiropractors, 2 acupuncturists, 3 GI doctors, 2 physicians, and NONE of them could tell me what was really going on with me. I had a ton of mysterious GI related symptoms that I won't get into on here, suffice it to say there was some seriously terrible stuff going on with my gut and that I could barely function. Dr Husbands was able to order the latest greatest tests I needed (he's very on top of the newest research about supplements & testing), interpret them quickly and efficiently, and recommend the necessary supplements and dietary changes. That was about 2 months ago and since then I'm feeling better than I have in a year! I am now a 100% believer in naturopathic/functional medicine! Dr Doug will get to the root of your problem - not just throw drugs at you and chase symptoms. His expertise reaches far and wide because he's a chiropractor, a nutrionist, and functional medicine doctor. Finding someone like him who was able to tie all of these different disciplines together was what allowed me to finally be diagnosed and start healing. He's also a super nice guy and is very responsive to emails. I do have to say that his services do not come cheap, but can you put a price on your health? I don't think so. He doesn't take my insurance, but I'm told you can resubmit invoices to certain insurance companies so others may be able to get around this. And to be fair he's very generous with his time and doesn't charge me every single time we need to have a phone call or lenghty email which is awesome. If you have an elusive illness that is stumping your doctor and specialists, you owe it yourself to see Dr Doug. Even if you're not sick and just need some nutrional advice or chiropractic work, he's the man!
