Chris called to say he was running late but that was fine with me. I'm stuck at home anyway due to my disability. Chris and Taylor were very polite and ready to get to work. They even took a few extra things with them that I hadn't thought of when I requested their services. They got right down to business and were in and out in just over 30 minutes. I couldn't be more pleased and will recommend them to my friends and will probably hire them in the future. Thank you guys!

Vicente has been so helpful throughout the whole process of redoing our front and backyard. From the very beginning, he responds quickly to emails or text messages. He has offered suggestions and his professional opinion on everything we wanted done. Him and his team have been on time everyday and I can tell the pride Vicente has in his work. He added decorative rock, fixed our irritation system, installed sod, a vegetable garden and star Jasmine to our yard. We are really happy with everything and very glad we chose him to take on this project. We will continue using his services to maintain our yard.

Vanatie Arellanes is the most brilliant, professional, creative and generous decorator I have ever met. Her artistic, unique, and cutting edge style is so impressive I would pay her any price she requested. She is so fair and charitable she refuses to accept what she deserves. Anyone considering hiring anyone else should probably seek therapy.

Locks Lawn Care

Locks Lawn Care should be providing you with their services or I can assure you it is your loss! I have seen many landscapers and lawn companies come and go over the years and Locks Lawn Care is a mile above the rest. The attention to detail is out of this world! Sure like other companies the grass gets cut, edging is done and the walk way gets cleaned just like all the rest. Locks Lawn Care does so much more like weed control with spray or by pulling. They trim the hedges and keep them trimmed! They even clean up the kids toys when I forget and place them neatly on the back porch... all this for the same price I was paying others for a lot less service. They are well groomed, always in uniform, always show up on the planned service date and are always respectful. My yard is kept in perfect condition. They treat my yard like it's their own. Writing these reviews is not my thing but when someone does this great of job it's only fair I share the info. Give them a call!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have your lawn mowed?

Regular lawn maintenance can do wonders for your home’s curb appeal. Professional lawn care prices will vary based on the regional cost to do business and regional cost of labor, the size of your lawn, and any additional services you may desire such as edging or mulching. The national average for lawn mowing costs is $30-$50. Pros may charge an hourly rate, a flat rate or by the square foot (an acre contains 43,560 square feet). Square footage rates factor in the professional’s time, the use of their equipment, and the gas to operate the mower. Distance may also affect cost: If you live outside the company’s standard service range, you may pay an additional travel fee. Here are some examples of average prices for mowing and lawn maintenance:

    • Up to 8,000-square-foot property: $30 per week/$120 per month.
      • Bimonthly: $40 per service/$80 per month.
      • One time only: $45 per service.
        • Prices include mowing all turf grass areas; trimming grass away from fences, structures, trees, and lawn edges; and clearing or blowing all grass trimmings from driveways, sidewalks, curbs, etc.
    • Hourly rate: $25 per hour (including travel, equipment costs and labor).
    • Lot size:
      • Smaller lots in subdivisions: $35.
      • Half-acre lot: $50.
      • One-acre lot: $100.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
