FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Not only do I offer both in-home and in-studio lessons, but I also offer a variety of lesson packages (5, 10, 15 lessons), group lesson discounts, and military discounts. Also, how the student decides to schedule (weekly, weekends, flexible sched) also plays a factor in determining the exact price. Usually at the trial lesson we can go over all the details, and I can then provide all of your options in writing. So along with the trial lesson you have pricing/package options to review after I leave. No better way to shop and compare instructors! :-)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First and foremost, I have provided every potential student for the past 20 years with a free trial lesson. There's no better way to shop and compare instructors than to see in person what each instructor has to offer. Is the cost of lessons important? Of course it is - but so is the quality of instruction as well, and I have no problem taking the time with a trial lesson to provide the customer with the best opportunity shop and compare!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have run my own business as an instructor here in San Diego for over 20 years now. Since 1995, I have provided over 35,000 lessons to both individuals and groups and published four books on guitar instruction. Every year I continue to learn, develop, and improve as an instructor, so I know nothing beats experience. Education and training (which I do have) is nice, but nothing beats learning from a pro!
