Look for references and make sure you are comfortable with the expectations that someone gives you. Avoid someone that tells you they can fix everything on your computer. Do look for someone that provides you an assessment and an estimate. Do not go with someone that tells you they know everything about computers. Do go with someone that is comfortable telling you that they don't know the answer, but can find out the answer if possible. Look for realistic expectations, and that is what you will get.
