As an adult who previously played but stopped for many years before coming back to my violin, Jazzly has been a perfect match for me; she immediately zeroed in on my strengths and weaknesses and quickly put together a study/practice plan which has me making progress on the road towards my playing goals. I look forward to and enjoy each lesson. I could't recommend her more highly.

My 10 yr old son has been taking private Violin lessons at home with Brandon for the last 4-5 months. My son enjoys learning from Brandon. He gives a lot of focus on getting the basics right, something which my son didn't learn in his group Violin classes at school.. My son finds him very funny and likes that Brandon gives him little tips like rhymes/beats which help him remember his notes better. There are times he comes a little late because of heavy traffic but he always sends a message and lets us know about it.We are looking forward to learning more from him.

I was a voice student at Hollywood Academy of Music for a few years. The instruction I got was worth so much more than what I paid because my teacher went to one of the best contemporary music schools (Musicians Institute) and was a frequent performer. Not only that, but she was fun to be around and naturally a very good teacher. I also took from a few other instructors and the standard was always just as high, even though the instructors had different backgrounds, they were all well-educated and good with people.

My daughter recently started violin lessons with Ms. Cardenes. So far, she has been extremely friendly, patient, and encouraging. My daughter is a bit shy, and she has made her feel very comfortable and excited about learning.

I take violin lessons at this school, and so far, they certainly have helped me improve on my skills, and have kept me motivated to continue practicing my instrument. It's a much more enriching experience when your lessons are one on one. I had been taking violin at school for 5 years, but taking lessons taught me that I still had a lot to learn. It's much easier to realize where your struggling and thereby improve on it quicker. I have to recommend this school to anyone seeking ways to improve their musical prowess!

My 10 year old child has been taking private violin lessons for over two years. In that time we have cycled through several teachers in an attempt to find someone who could actually teach. She would put in the time practicing, yet continued to spin her wheels with a thousand different variations of “Twinkle, Twinkle.” (Pass the Tylenol.) Simply put, we were not seeing any notable results. Since she began lessons with Dimitry in February, she has progressed significantly. Her growth has shifted from completely stagnant to shockingly exponential under his tutelage. In only 3 months’ time, she has advanced from Suzuki Book 1 to a rather challenging piece. Last week she auditioned for and was accepted into the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra, a feat which would have been completely unattainable before starting with Dimitry a few months ago. Most importantly, my daughter now enjoys playing the violin and does so with confidence and passion. She appreciates Dimitry’s straightforward yet motivational style of instruction and looks forward to her weekly lessons. We highly recommend him to all those looking to take their musical studies to the next level.

Grace was just what we were looking for when planning our company party. We hired her violin and guitar duo, and their music was perfect for our setting. They played beautifully, and Grace was very professional when working out the details beforehand. We highly recommend her for any party or event you need a violinist for.

I wanted a teacher that could work with an older adult who not had piano lessons since childhood. After many years, I wanted to challenge myself by getting back into piano and I wanted to bring music back into my life. I was a bit nervous about making the commitment and about the time investment that would be required. I also didn’t know a good teacher so I asked around. Howard’s name came up. He was recommended as a patient and knowledgeable teacher that would do wonders with students. Howard’s approach is not the conventional one that I experienced as a child. He presents many types of approaches and uses lots of tools and techniques to build your skills and understanding of the structure of music. Now, I’m stretching myself to learn, remember and apply these skills and it feels really good! I actually enjoy practicing my piano. Now thats a testimony to Howard’s influence! If you are looking for a teacher that can accommodate your needs, encourage and inspire you, meet Howard and try him out. I’m confident that you will be very pleased with him as a professional and as a teacher.

I am an adult beginning violin student and Jessica has been my teacher for going on two years. Being an adult beginner and severely dyslexic, I doubt I have been the easiest student and I am certainly not the fastest learner, but Jessica has accepted every challenge willingly and with encouragement. In fact her age may be a benefit to younger and or less able students as she is adaptable, approachable and most often encouraging. The student is made aware that the practice room is " the safe zone". Every session has thus far been fun, yet challenging. By way of criticism, all I can say is that critique while always constructive, are often followed with an apology (" Sorry, I'm just being nit picky"). Isn't that the job of the teacher? Jessica is also always quick to point out those areas where the student is showing improvement.

Michael is terrific! We were looking for a teacher to work with our 8 year old son while we were visiting LA for the month. Michael is amazing at inspiring and engaging our son. Our son was so excited after his lesson we happily booked Michael for 3 lessons a week for the rest of our stay. Highly recommend!

Shanon is the best. I'm about to finish my first term with her and I feel I've made great progress, especially as an adult beginner who's never played music before. She helped me get an instrument and she's always available to answer my questions. 100% would recommend!

My wife started our 15 year old daughter on violin lessons over Christmas break- since then she has gained confidence in her playing and the sound is much improved as well. She loves the duets that her teacher brings to play together, and it has taught her how to listen more and helped in school orchestra as well. Thank you Jamie!

My son has been taking music lessons from Ms. Plasencia for 3 years now. He is learning to play the piano and violin. We rent a violin from Ms. Plasencia which makes things very convenient. Jonah has always loved music and he enjoys learning to play new songs. Ms. Plasencia has a wonderful way of working with kids. She is very patient and knows just how far she can push my son but still keep his love of music alive and well! I am so glad we found Ms. Plasencia!

About

Hello future students! I've been playing violin for 20 of my 25 years of age and teaching for 8 years. I believe that the most important part of learning the violin is having fun and building a passion for music. In my lessons we will focus on proper violin technique, music theory and most importantly (and fun!) practical application. In practical application, the student chooses what he/she would like to work on, whether it be Mozart or The Chainsmokers or the Moana score, and we learn it together! I am also proficient in music production/engineering which means that my students can professionally record themselves in my home studio. If this sounds like fun to you - let's get started! :)
