Dan is one of the hardest working professional dancers I've ever worked with. His students are his top priority and it shows in his rehearsals. Not only is his history phenomenally exceptional, but he is always growing his dance knowledge and working harder at improving himself and his students. He's truly a wonderful dancer, choreographer, teacher, and friend. If you're a new student, an experienced dancer like myself- or all of the above- DanDan is the man!
Erin was wonderful to work with! Super responsive and professional. The crowd loved her! Not only were she and her dance partner wonderful dancers, but they were also great at getting the crowd going and teaching them how to dance- they loved it!
Private lessons with Jeremy are always fun (he was our teacher for over two years). He has a one-of-a-kind talent for explaining dance moves and creating metaphors that help you "get" both, the technical and the performing aspects of the dance. His choreography, for leader and follower, is always creative and really captures the mood of each dance. Overall, two thumbs up and highly recommend for dancers of any level. We also took a few group classes that Carolyn taught. She's a friendly, easy-going instructor who makes everyone welcome, regardless of skill level. Take her class (or do a private lesson with her) as a fun and light date night activity. :)
Excellent instructor who really went the extra mile to teach salsa to novice dancers at our Cinco de Mayo party.
Alpa was wonderful to work with!!! She was very quick to respond to my questions and accommodate my requests. She even ordered white henna just for my party. Everyone at the party loved her work!!! If I ever need a henna artist for another event, I will definitely be contacting Alpa!! Thank you so much!!!
I am a completely inexperienced 67 yo ballroom dancer, vision and balance challenged, with a history of performance anxiety. Despite these issues, Daniel was able to give me a wonderful start with enough success that I got the thrill of dancing and am inspired to continue. He was warm, patient, and encouraging in addition to being obviously very skilled and experienced.
Eliott is a first rate instructor. He is one of a small breed of swing teachers who has an excellent understanding of body mechanics and technique; he's not just a pattern guy. Eliott presents material clearly and at a pace so that students really get the material. He takes a keen interest in his students understanding and progression and usually provides summery notes after each lesson. Lessons with Eliott are always fun.
I have grown as a dancer and become invested in the Bay Area's flamenco community through the art, passion and mentoring of Yaelisa and Caminos Flamencos. This dance company not only offers a diverse mix of classes, performances and special events, but also invites dancers, musicians and audience members of all ages and stages to immerse themselves in the rich inner workings of the world of flamenco. To me, Yaelisa is the matriatch of flamenco in the Bay Area. She not only understands flamenco but also understands how to teach it- challenging students to study and master not only choreographies but also the compas, the history, the palmas and the roots that flamenco has grown from. Her classes kick ass- and her choreographies even moreso. Yaelisa has mentored countless flamenco dancers who have now begun to thrive as teachers in their own right. I respect her community-building skills and her commitment to her students and fellow artists in the Bay Area. And on a personal note, I have gone from being a clueless, self-conscious beginner to embrace curiosity, dedication and joy as a true student of this art form. Caminos Flamencos performances are thrilling to watch and even more thrilling to perform in. The community that Caminos Flamencos attracts is infectious in its love for this art form. I'm so grateful to have stumbled into flamenco as a result of the Yaelisa's memorable 'Boy with a Coin' music video almost 10 years ago now. Keep it coming!
Studio where you feel home with warm and professional dancers! Want to learn every day with them! Thank you guys for putting your soul in business!
Nikolai was an amazing instructor. He made me feel comfortable and confident as we danced to various rhythms with different movements. His professionalism, dedication, and passion make him an ideal instructor who gives 100% to his students. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone who's looking for a high-caliber professional dancer and instructor.
Keyla takes tremendous pride in her work, like I do. She is also very friendly, and cares about people. Before Keyla, I felt intimidated by the process of choosing the right classes and dance teams and venues. Now I feel like I have a mentor who cares about me and can guide me in my Salsa learning process. Keyla takes the overwhelm out of learning Salsa!
Shortly after I started dancing I met Jeremy who introduced me to competitive dance and I really got the bug. Jeremy makes training fun! His skill with story-telling through dance, character interpretation, and emotional expressiveness are his special gifts. It's been a fantastic experience to go from knowing almost nothing about ballroom dance to having a fun and challenging practice, quite a few competitions and even a world-title under my belt. All thanks to the commitment and skill Jeremy brings to his teaching! I have seen Jeremy work with beginners, wedding couples and a variety of levels of competitive dancer...he puts everyone at ease with his good-natured personality and is wonderful at helping dancers of any skill level improve and have fun in the process. As a high-level competitive professional dancer himself he has a wealth of experience and a great ability to inspire with his grace, strength and expressiveness.
I love having lessons with Sarah. She really explains things so clearly so I can understand. I’m a competitive dancer, and she’s helped me with posture and styling and many other things needed to perform. I was able to get much more info out of her than I would having a male on my subjects. She’s passionate and patient! I highly recommend her!
Hebert choreographed my daughters dances for her Quinceañera. He practiced each week with the kids until they got the moves down. At the end, the group looked like professional dancers-even the kids who have never danced before. He really goes above and beyond. I highly recommend him.
Allison has the beat down and her timing is thus perfect. She is also a creative dancer and will not end with the basic. Overall, a great experience with La Vida Salsera.
Dalila came and performed for 15 minutes at a High School assembly. She arrived early to set up and check out the space and stayed to watch the whole show. The students loved her. She was very professional and fun. She worked the whole room and gave students the opportunity to get up and dance with her. She was very nice and a really talented dancer.
Every dance job I've got to participate in I enjoy how much I get to learn and grow. The professionalism on every gig has helps me to be more prepared for any future gigs.
Carolé is a force of a woman. Not only is she a professional actor, dancer, stand-up comedian, athlete, she is so humble. She taught me some wonderful acting lessons and then I decided to go watch her do some stand-up comedy in a show and she was hilarious. You can tell she's a professional dancer by the way she moves, I'll come see her dance soon. Come and take lessons from her. She's mesmerizing.
Tabitha was great! We had an issue with the music (my fault) and she was able to roll with the changes and dance to a belly dancing station from Pandora! Nobody knew that she didn't know the music. She was able to read the crowd and get people involved. She did a great job! Thank you!!
Samba Sensation was amazing at my wedding reception!!! Their show is the first thing my guests bring up whenever they talk about our wedding. It really got the party started and kept the energy really high. The costume were very elaborate and dancers were gorgeous! Well felt like we were in Rio. Shaunte was my contact and really great to work with in planning the details. She always responded right away and was good about checking in with me. My wife left me with the responsibility of hiring entertainment and she went over details that I didn't really think about like coverage options and colors. As it got closer and things got busier, I really appreciated that she took the initiative to coordinate with the DJ and get a contact number from me ahead of time since I didn't have a wedding planner. On the day of my reception I was able to enjoy myself and my night. Thank you!!!
