Alexandra S. says, "So I've been having this rat issue in my ground level basement of my Victorian home for the last three weeks, where a rat ate through my fiber optic cable twice and each time it cost me $150 with AT&T for them to come out and repair it. So I posted on Next Door looking for solutions and received 70+ comments and suggestions about companies to call and what to do. The first and only company that responded immediately was Attic Sky. And I just want to say what an extremely positive experience it was to meet with one of the owners who truly presented me with what the issues here are and what I could do about it myself, as in order to truly deal with the situation, I'd almost have to rebuild my Victorian home. Caleb explained to me how wooden structures such as mine that are nearly 150 years old, have numerous entry points because of the wood, because of the foundation, because of the imperfect molding, not to mention my ground level basement is my art gallery and art studio and storage area. So we're talking about an area that is completely filled up, walls are blocked, and it basically needs a major overhaul. So Caleb gave me a number of suggestions to deter the rats like TomCat Rat deterrent spray and how to administer it all around my house once a week right now and eventually up to once a month. He also suggested how to protect the wires that the rats are drawn to because they are soy based. It just was this really positive experience and I wanted to post a rave review about this company. I really appreciate such a company that is obviously honest and sincere. So thank you very much Caleb and Jorge and Attic Sky."See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

If your air ducts have been damaged, you’ll need to replace them. The national average air duct replacement cost is $150-$280, which may not include materials. Factors such as duct material, labor, location of ducts and linear feet of ductwork will all affect your final costs. Labor costs will vary based on how accessible the ducts are and what material your ducts are made of. The least expensive duct material is a flexible, non-metallic ducting that costs approximately $1-$2 per linear foot. Flexible aluminum is generally more expensive and stronger than non-metallic ducting. Stainless steel ducting is the strongest, the least flexible (meaning installing it typically has higher labor rates), and usually the most expensive. An average price for air duct replacement could range between $35 and $55 per linear foot, including basic materials and labor. A typical single-family home has 6-10 duct runs; replacing or installing one duct run could average $150-$250 for labor.
