Introduction: I have been teaching piano for 10 years. I am experienced in teaching students three years old upwards, from elementary level to diploma. Lessons consist of notes reading, beats training, oral skills, listening skills, theory and exam preparation. Students can choose the elements they want to focus on. For kids, I use a more interactive approach to make every lesson interesting for them.
I can teach in English, Cantonese and Mandarin fluently. I am a certifications holder of world-famous music schools: Royal Schools of Music and Trinity Guild Hall.

My 7-years-old daughter takes private piano lessons with miss Kathy L. She is very nice, and warm hearted, yet strict and firm. Ms. Kathy is a kind, patient, and experienced piano teacher, exactly what I need for my daughter!

Kathy is such an amazing teacher! My 6-year-old started with Kathy as a complete beginner and is now able to do short pieces on her own. Kathy is very patient with my kid. She explains the piano pieces and music theory very well and assigns homework every week. Kathy helps our daughter build a solid foundation in piano. My daughter enjoys piano lesson with Kathy a lot.

Kathy has been teaching our 8 year old daughter piano lessons for 6 months. She's very gentle but firm, and my daughter really enjoys her piano lessons, as well as practicing during the week. This is the first time my daughter has had piano lessons and she has certainly improved a great deal since we started with Kathy. We purchased the Alfred's Basic Piano Library - Complete Level 1, Lesson Book & Theory Book. Kathy gives homework each week, and they work through at least one new song a week. Kathy is prompt, responsive and is super with kids. So pleased we found her. Wish she also teaches tennis, ice skating...

My daughters (5 and 12 years old) and I have been taking piano lessons with Kathy for 10 months now. She's very punctual and friendly. We can see that Kathy uses different approaches when teaching my 5yo and 12yo (who have different personality and experience level in piano), and her teaching methods are effective to both kids. As a dad, I also enjoy taking lessons with Kathy as she is experienced in teaching adults as well. I can't practice regularly and sometimes find it hard to keep up, but Kathy is patient and helps me set up learning goals.
Kathy also selected materials that are good for parents and kids learning together. Now I am able to play duets with my daughters and we have so much fun playing piano together. Thank you Kathy! You're the best teacher we've got :)

Kathy is a really nice teacher. She will adjust the course based on student's level and prepare different materials to inspire student's interest. You can text her any time for any questions. It's a really great experience to learn piano with Kathy.
