- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
First time clients are gifted a discount of 20% in gratitude for you confidence. I am dedicated and offer focused attention —overnight dog & house sitting (or cat). $150 per day minimum for up to 10 days and we go from there. I charge by the day (not night) and usually ask for two days minimum. Any quality pet sit, for locals or travelers in a hotel room, you all want this for your pup: food, water, love and attention, exercise, fresh air and potty access. I focus on one family at a time, no double dipping at all, ever. and just wait until your text is brimming with adorable pics of your sweet one (or twos). 🐾💛
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My philosophy is to organize just enough information ahead of time that if there were an emergency (or just a good question) we all know what to do and who to call. And we have communicated about what is wanted and expected by both of us in writing. My process: we make an appointment for a brief FaceTime chat and then plan a relaxed meet/greet in person at your home. The dogs get to know me and show me the treat location. I like to take them for a brief walk.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up with dogs, a few Aussies, Border Collie senior rescue, a Basingi named Bambi. It started as a side hustle when people started getting Covid period dogs and wanted to travel. I took care of a Dachshund for a nurse at the height of the epidemic. Eventually, I started putting my marketing and sales skills to work and now its my semi-full time micro business. I love the dogs and traveling to their homes. Its a natural and easy fit. I love my 30 clients… I made doggy treats for Valentine’s Day and delivered them.
