Rachel was warm, uplifting and open. She quickly honed in to me, my starting point and goals. Importantly, she took my beginner insecurities into account and gently incorporated them to our session. She adjusted the experience based on my fitness level. Rachel meaningfully answered my questions before, during, and after the session. I instantly felt a high level of comfort and ease with her. She never rushed anything. Rachel came prepared and added many personalized touches to our time, bringing the best chai tea I’d ever had, great music playlists, an extra yoga mat and yoga blocks for me to borrow, and an especially thoughtful /curated sequence of dynamic flows to practice which were derived from her 20 years of practicing yoga. Together, these formed a perfect ark- getting centered, progression and recentering. Rachel synced her direction/teaching/guidance to me in a soft manner with breath work, positions, attunement, while slowing down or picking up to choreograph a fluid experience. I have taken pilates in the past and the experience has always been mixed. I am not a long limb dancer (the body type at many pilates studios) and found his space welcoming. I really enjoyed the workout. Justin asked about injuries and goals and then we did a reformer workout and ended on the springboard. It was challenging, but it didn't kill me and Justin made sure I didn't fall off the machine. He is courteous and thoughtful and the space is nice and clean. Pilates is expensive, but this is worth the cost. My body felt better after my session. Will go back and see him for more.

I was recovering (see: learning to live with) a serious back injury and in need of a pilates instructor that could help me strengthen my core/get back in shape without further injuring my back and Tru is amazing! In fact, anytime my back bothered me I made sure to run in for a session to relieve pain. The studio is really cute and Tru feels more like a friend than a teacher. So happy to have found her!
