Introduction: My name is Michele Walther. I am an experienced professional violin teacher, and I am offering violin and viola lessons for all levels and ages: from beginner to advanced, and from age 4 to 80. I teach classical (traditional and Suzuki) as well as jazz, blues and world music.
My Teaching Background
I studied music/violin in Switzerland at the Conservatory Basel, and graduated with a MM in violin and pedagogy. Then I was working as a violin and ensemble teacher at the Music-Academy Basel for 13 years. During that time, I was also a member of the Basel Sinfonietta, a professional symphony orchestra. In 2004, I received a scholarship for the Berklee College of Music in Boston MA, where I studied jazz violin and graduated in 2006. I was a violin faculty at the Neighborhood Music School in New Haven, CT.
Currently I have a private studio in San Francisco, and I am a violin faculty at the New Mozart School of Music in Palo Alto.

My Teaching Philosophy
I am a dedicated teacher, and I love to teach and nurture a passion for music in others, as well as providing the technical foundation to play classical music and to improvise.
