FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $50 for a one hour lesson. If the student pays for 4 lessons in advance then the price drops to $45 per hour. In some cases I slide my fee lower depending first on the student's talent and dedication and financial circumstances.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a performing operatic tenor and recital singer. Even though I have reached a level of expertise, I still study with a teacher myself, as many opera singers do. The reason for this is that singers can't hear themselves accurately and need the ear of another trained professional. With such an ear a singer can slowly develop problems with the voice before realizing what's going on.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I , myself, developed my voice totally through technique. I didn't have an obviously good sounding voice to begin with. Through a lot of help, desire and curiosity I have a good voice today that allows me to sing opera and other kinds of music. Without a good technical foundation I couldn't have done any of this. Being the director of a chorus of singers I came in contact with so many singers who had the potential to be good but were not going to achieve it without technical help. I wanted to be part of the solution and offer my own experience and knowledge to help these singers have a chance to do better.
