If you're looking for a skilled and resourceful handyman who is punctual, responsible, and value for your money, David Gomes is your man. I initially hired David to repair two pocket doors - one was stuck and the other did not slide smoothly. I was a little nervous that he had to remove the moulding to repair the doors, but he did a great job. I, also, had him adjust some of my cabinet doors and he worked on my patio doors and screens so they now open so smoothly. David is, indeed, a specialist on doors, but he can do so much more that I had him do other things in my house. . .install 3 new toilets and a new lock and deadbolt on a door, re-grouted some tiles, replace spray hose, moulding in powder room etc. Whenever he finishes a task, he always asks you to check it so that you are completely satisfy with the job. He made several trips to the hardware store to get materials he needed and didn't charge me for his time. I have a large custom home and have used many contractors/handymen for various jobs and I would highly recommend David. I am so glad I found him on Thumbtrack. . .he will be the only handyman I will use from this day forward.
I hired Casiano's to replace my kitchen faucet. The faucet was making noise and then water spray got clocked. I had already purchased a replacement faucet that was recommended by my HOA, so I just needed someone to come and replace it. I wasn't able to be present, but my renters liked that setup was friendly and professional. When I arrived to inspect the work, I found everything as good as new. I also appreciated Casiano's flexibility to accept payment via PayPal. This allowed me to not bother my renters with payments, inspect the work afterwards and pay without scheduling further visits.
He replaced our gutters that had blown off in the storms. He said the rest were fine so didn't need replacing. In addition, I asked him to add drainage so the rainwater would move far from the house. The location is a very steep hill. From the back of the house he put in 4" pvc pipes, 20 feet long, down the hill. Since the pipes were white, he spray painted them green so they wouldn't stand out as much. We had him move the drains from the front of the house, underground and away from the house. He put in two pop up drains near the sidewalk. Very, very happy with the work. My mom was having problems with a sump pump located in a sub basement that kept stopping, probably because of the insulation breaking down and clogging up the mechanism. He was able to get it going again to clear out the water. Then he added chicken wire and a mesh fabric around it so it wouldn't get clogged so easily. Once the area is dry, he will return and remove all the broken down insulation so it will fix the problem for good. He's very kind and easy to talk to. His rates are very reasonable. We feel fortunate to have found him and plan to give him more work as the need arises.
I needed to replace my bathroom fan and reseal my tub. Nick had a fair enough price (not the cheapest nor most expensive bid), but he was responsive. Day of he let me know he was running late, he brings his own equipment, but he's kinda quiet and didn't really explain what he was doing or offer any options on how to fix until I asked. The work was done in his estimated amount of time and it was done well. He left the old fan in the attic though. Btw, he adds material cost at the end on top of labor.
Generally decent job Would have given him 5 stars except that- 1. Did not paint the right sheen as per the discussed project 2. Did not wait for the first coat of epoxy to dry for 24 hrs as it should have been supposed to be. I am not sure if I got the 2 coats I paid for. 3. Missing attention to detail to the paint areas 4. Taking up responsibility 5. Lack of Communication
Janes was hired to paint our 30 year old kitchen cabinets. James had a very competitive bid and great references. He showed up everyday on time and completed the job in 4 days. His procedure was to sand, clean, prime with oil-based primer and then spray paint. Cabinets look so different. Really brightened up the kitchen. During the entire project, James took great pains to protect and keep clean the rest of house.
Omar is a friendly, knowledgable, and competitively priced painter. This job included prepping and painting one side of my two story home, including gutters, shutters, and facia. This side of the house gets direct afternoon sun, so the old paint had blistered, requiring substantial power washing. Omar's experience and attention to detail, resulted in a painting job that exceeded my expectations. His prep work was thorough, including patching cracks in the stucco, priming, and caulking around my fire place. I appreciated that he was thoughtful and careful in protecting my new pavers, plants, and patio furniture. Omar sprayed the first coat of paint, and rolled on the second, insuring the highly textured stucco was fully covered and eliminating that vail appearance that spraying alone can leave. I would not only recommend Omar highly, but I would use him again without hesitation. Also, really a nice guy!
We had a mix of things to fix: plumbing, a towel rack, some grout work on a bathroom counter, caulking around a sink, etc. Everything was quick, clean, and professional. Will definitely use them in the future for handyman projects of all kinds.
This is the first time I used Bay Area Design Solutions and I'm very please with their service and promptness. Yohan is very professional from the start to finish. He responds quickly when I need something. He was always on time and was able to delivered what he promised. I can highly recommend him and will definitely hire him again on my next listing.
We had Outstanding construction do a full interior remodel (Kitchens/Bathrooms) including landscaping front/rear. Concrete patio and side walkway of my Moms home in Belmont. House was in need of major upgrades throughout. Entire interior was re-textured / crown moulding / kitchen demo/replace including appliances. Because KC has his own dump truck is very convenient for haul out of debris as well as pickup of landscape and other materials for the job as the job progresses. KC did have good suggestions and has the contacts to get good pricing on quality products such as Brick/cabinetry/foam accents/windows etc. Kirk and his team work very hard are conscientious and keep a tidy jobsite. He will work with any of your own subcontractors but will also provide contact details for folks he has worked with in the past. Pricing was fair after the whole job was done although it did take longer and cost more than originally estimated but from what I hear this is normal for larger re-model projects because there are so many moving parts. He had the plans drawn up and went to the city to obtain the permits...so no problems with any of the intermediate city inspections and achieved permit sign off . Our realtor who was checking in periodically on the projects progress was very impressed with the end result as was his colleagues who came to see the finished product. As testament to how well the finished product was received, when we put it on the market it sold in 7 days with multiple offers over asking. Granted alot of that had to do with the location but it also had a lot to do with the "Pop" the house had after the remodel was completed... people that looked at it were very impressed with the finished product.
Michael painted the front of my 1955 cape cod and porch. He restored the French windows and the siding to like new. Wonderful job of prep. He used an oil based paint that has held up perfectly. It made such a difference. When he was done, he left no mess. No drips on porch floor, all materials cleaned up. He was booked up when I wanted to finish the garage. I did it myself and the quality of my work was noticeably lower. He took the time to come buy free of charge to give me some pointers. This guy is a pro.
