Introduction: Playing the piano is a lot of fun. With proper instruction, learning to play is fun as well. And you'll be surprised how easy it is to get started. I offer a free first lesson for the student and parent to see how I teach. I teach all levels and all ages!
$50/half hour lesson
Each lesson is coupled with a free 30 minute technology lab session. When more than one child per family takes lessons, I offer a 20% discount for the second child.

We were very fortunate to find Craig when searching for a piano teacher in the San Jose area. My daughter is an intermediate student who had been taking lessons for 5 years. Craig is kind and patient, with a very pleasant, friendly and easy going personality. His teaching style has engaged my daughter's interest in playing much more than her previous instructors. She used to view piano practice and lessons as a chore, but now approaches them with enthusiasm. I credit this shift to Craig's effective teaching style. He is also very understanding and flexible about the need to reschedule lessons from time to time. I can't imagine finding a better combination of qualities in a piano instructor, and would highly recommend him for students of all ages.

Craig is an excellent teacher who is very patient and is able to offer criticism in a constructive manner. He also notices small things that have a big impact on the overall sound of a piece; now I tend to notice my own mistakes much more quickly and am able to correct them and thus advance my own playing. This has really helped sustain my interest in the piano. He is a truly excellent instructor and I would recommend him to anyone who is interested in taking piano lessons. Another commendable quality is his ability to create a fun learning atmosphere while maintaining a decent pace in the introduction of new material. I am an adult student who started playing with him for a few months and he has helped me rekindle a once lost interest in the piano.

Craig is the best piano teacher we could have hoped for for our 12-year-old son. In just over two months of lessons he has gone from not being able to read a note of music to playing pieces designated early intermediate . Craig teaches with patience, humor, and a real intuition for what will motivate and inspire a particular child. In our son's case, Craig's encouraged him to explore genres of music (jazz, blues, ragtime, etc.) that interest him and to challenge himself with pieces outside the textbook repertoire. We've been pretty much astonished by our son's progress and, best part, by the fact that it's come with absolutely no pushing or nagging on our part. Our son is excited about practicing and can't wait for his next lesson. Needless to say, we recommend Craig without reservation!

"Our son has been taking lessons from Craig for little over a month. Craig has a talent to teach students of all ages and abilities. Craig knows how to keep my 6 year old son dedicated and interested in piano in many ways. I see my son not only loves to play piano but, he also learn his piano notes. After our daughter's previous piano teacher moved to different state this summer, we thought that our daughter could never find a new piano teacher. But we were wrong! Craig is an amazing piano teacher in every aspects. He has a great sense of humor with children and makes so much fun learning piano for our daughter. Our daughter requested us to stretch her lesson time to 1 hour since she enjoys learning piano so much with his theories, finger technique, how to read music sheet quickly ...and more! As her parent, we have been very happy with Craig and enjoy listening to our daughter plays piano everyday to us! We highly recommend Craig to everyone.
