Introduction: I am a Master Instructor of Chen Family Taijiquan (Tai Chi) certified through Chen Qingzhou Martial Arts Institute in Henan, China and through American Chen Taiji Society. I have been teaching Taijiquan since 2009. I teach group and individual lessons and work with adults and children of a wide range of backgrounds and physical conditions. My students typically find my instructions clear, corrections precise, and patience long. I love sharing what I've learned in a systematic and fun way while leaving the students plenty of space to explore and reap the joy of discovery. I am also a Somatic Coach and Bodyworker certified through the Strozzi Institute. I love facilitating individual's healing through their own inner wisdom. Clients who have received bodywork from me have called my healing touch "motherly" and "shamanic". I offer in-person somatic bodywork as an alternative healing modality in two locations in the Bay Area: Sunnyvale (Mondays), San Jose (Tuesdays).

Yan is truly amazing! She's very professional and has a lot of knowledge both in teaching and Tai Chi in general. I have been taking private lessons with Yan for the last couple months. Before I used to have frequent back flareups. Touching wood, I hadn't had any since. In addition to the body benefits, I do feel more clear minded and relaxed. Thanks Yan!
