This is my 2nd home that Rudy has installed a surround system & again he has impressed me with his work. The quality equipment installed for the price and the time from order to install was impressive. Everything was done within a week. I would recommend Innovative Construction to anyone looking to have a top of the line system for their home.

I am very familiar with contractors, as I grew up in and around construction. My father was a carpenter. He used to say “Jack of all trades.... master of none”. I also worked many years biding jobs for a well-known local construction company. After meeting with several contractors we contracted with Dennis to replace our bath tub with a tiled shower, and install a new granite counter top for the vanity. We found Dennis to be consciences, reliable and very talented. He always went beyond what we expected of him. He was not the lowest bid……but his bid was very competitive. We had also hired Lowe’s to install hardwood floors in our bedrooms. When the Lowe’s installers arrived they informed us that removing carpet or moving furniture was not included in their contract. So Dennis pitched in to help move the Murphy Bed, the only piece of furniture that was left in the rooms having new flooring installed. He also came back later that day to haul away the old carpet. He did this without even being asked. He just overheard the problem I was having with the Lowe’s installers. I highly recommend Dennis at Wigwam Construction to anyone looking for an honest, reputable and the consummate contractor. My wife said it all “Thank God for Dennis!” Jim & Janet Kisling

Justin is very detailed in his work and can figure out how to solve many issues during the process. He has done excellent work for us at our residence including installing lights, expanding our driveway, removing shrubs and fixing sprinklers, repairing our window shades that wouldn't extract and installing an electrical security fencing wire. I highly recommend him as a "do it all" handyman.

Vezina Industries replacedmy roof. It was by far one of the best experiences I have ever had when improving my house. During the consultation they even checked my insulation to make sure my home was energy efficient. Larry and Troy were so helpful and informed me of every step during the installation. Will be getting my windows installed next month from them!

Very happy with the work completed. I hired him to redo my parents' bathroom: convert the old sunken, tiled, 90's bathtub to a shower. Install shower doors, lay tile on the floor, change out toilet, sink faucet and install new drain and shower head with valve. It took exactly the amount of days it was quoted to me. Maya showed up on time every day. He was coomunicating to me progress and the timeline. I would highly recommend Seventh Generation Homes to anyone looking to redo anything in their home. The picture posted is just one of great ones!

I was looking into solar. I hired Ricardo to help me with the process. I would have to rate the solar representative five stars. I don't usually give any one ratings, but I felt for this occasion I had to. He was SO helpful through out the process. I didn't know anything about solar. As a result, Ricardo took the extra mile to provide sufficient knowledge to make me feel confident about the solar install. Thank you for all your help. Will definitely recommend you Ricardo.

My name is Isreal. I'm a certified flooring installer and have been installing for 7 years professionally. I worked with Lowe's Home Improvement in previous installations. I do quality work to have a guaranteed happy customer.

    About

I can perform several tasks. I have 22 years of experience in rough and finish carpentry, along with window and door installation and repair. I can also repair concrete and tile and perform yard maintenance.

    About

We provide windows services for new construction and replacement windows for existing homes -- vinyl or wood. We also do insulation work for new construction or existing homes. We do fireplaces for new construction and fireplaces/inserts for existing homes as well.

    About

We offer repair and installation services. We will install, repair, clean, and just about anything you can think of at a fraction of what the big companies charge. We make house calls 24 hours a day. For example like for the weekend where it's the only time you could be home. To have a plumber change a water heater would cost over $350 dollars. That does not include what they charge for the weekend or after hours. We charge $125 dollars (does not include new water heater) for weekend, may it be day or night. We will come to your home and talk with you to make sure that what you want is what you get. No hidden fees will be charged. Any new parts that are needed have to be cleared by the customer.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do you replace a window?

You may want to replace a window if the glass has been damaged, you’re remodeling a room, or you want to upgrade your energy efficiency as well as your style by getting rid of those drafty single panes that are losing you money. When replacing a window, you can remove and replace the entire window down to the house frame. This method is best if the existing frame is damaged or deteriorating, but requires construction skills and know-how and will take more time and money. An easier and less expensive option is to install an insert replacement window into the existing frame. Insert replacements are only an option if your window frame is in good condition without rot or damage.

When replacing an entire window, first you’ll carefully remove the existing window with a pry bar and other tools. Next, you’ll make any repairs and adjustments needed to the existing frame or header and studs to ensure that the space is perfectly plumb and square, so the new window will sit perfectly within the space. Next, install the new window from the exterior, securing it into place. You’ll need to precisely wrap and insulate the window to ensure it doesn’t leak. Then, install the interior casing and exterior trim (as needed). If you prefer to hire a professional to install a window, consider replacing more than one window at a time, as the pro can work more efficiently.

How much would it cost to put in new windows?

The cost to replace a window can vary depending on factors such as window size, type of glass, brand of window, necessary trim repair, and any construction work required for installation. Labor rates and cost to do business in your region will also affect the cost. The national average window installation cost is $2,650 per project. Here are some examples of average trim repair and window replacement costs:

    • Trim repair:
      • Line and case a window frame with an MDF product: $400.
      • Line and case a window frame with raw hemlock wood: $500.
    • Approximate cost to install five windows at one time: $3,000.
    • Approximate cost to install one double-hung, energy-efficient 3-foot by 4-foot window: $500-$550.
      • For the same window size (3-foot by 4-foot) from a different manufacturer made with a specialty fiberglass exterior and all-wood interior, the cost could go up to $1,500.
      • Pricing can go as high as $5,000 for a bay or bow window with specialty glass and framing.
        • These examples include removal and disposal of old materials and window.

How much is a custom window?

Choosing custom windows will increase your window installation cost but will provide you with exactly what you want. The average national cost for window installation is $2,650. Your custom window costs will vary based on several factors. The first factor is the type of frame you want. The four most common types of frames are vinyl, fiberglass, aluminum and wood. Wood is typically the most expensive option, followed by aluminum. The type of glass you select will also affect cost. There are single-, double- and triple-pane windows. Most double- and triple-pane windows have gas sealed between the panes that act as insulation. Windows typically cost more the more energy-efficient they are, though this efficiency can save you money on utility bills in the long run. The type of glass used can also affect cost. There are different grades of glass — high-performance glass, low-e coated glass, and more — which all provide you with better insulation. In addition, the number of unified inches (window height x window width) you need will affect cost. The cost of custom windows will also be affected by installation cost and whether any repair or construction work is required to properly fit the new window.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
