101 Relocation Services moved an upright piano to my new home, a few miles away from where I was living. Tony got back to me fast when I asked for a bid on Thumbtack and his bid was in the middle- not the most expensive, and not the cheapest. I based my decision on his positive reviews. Tony showed up on time with one assistant, Juan, and a lift truck with all the needed tools and supplies. They prepped the piano by wrapping it in moving blankets, shrink wrap, and mounting it on a slide board.
This was a challenging move. The piano had to be carried up a flight of 12 stairs, turned 180 degrees on a small landing, then up a short flight to get it into the loft. I had doubts that it could be done because of the piano's weight (estimated 500 lbs) and bulk. Once getting to the house, Tony looked at the layout and promptly started. Moving a large, heavy piano in tight spaces requires skill and understanding of the strengths and limitations of the movers. Safety is the priority. Tony and Juan worked as a team throughout the move, and it was pleasure to how they worked together - no cussing, just sweating and grunting during the heavy lifts. No scratches in the wooden flooring; no dings on the walls. They cleaned up the worksites afterwards as well.
Movers are often underappreciated. Difficult moves like mine separate the professionals from the mediocre.
Tony and Juan are professionals, and I highly recommend 101 Relocation services for your next move.
PS. Do yourself and the movers a favor by texting pictures of any tight spaces to the movers before they arrive. No one likes surprises!
