Repaired and replaced joists and subfloor, installed carpet and pad, demoed old patio cover on a manufactured home we are getting to rent. Great service and easy to work with. Does it all. Highly recommend.
Robin did an excellent job in removing our leaning 100 ft. wood fence and replacing it with a sturdy and straight fence. The project involved myself and two neighbors and Robin handled the project professionally and diplomatically when some bickering started between the neighbors about who was going to pay for what.
Kevin Ghazarian worked with me on a variety of prominent projects at my home. In all aspects from budgeting, design, planning and organization of the construction schedule, he was a tremendous asset. On each home improvement he displayed exceptional qualities of creative-problem solving, fortitude as a leader and task-master and attention to detail in design and craftsmanship. I am very pleased on how well the projects turned out, which is due largely to his professional contributions. Highlights of projects are described as follows: 1. Interior painting of several rooms and kitchen. The design motif was a traditional Tuscani color scheme. The original and uniquely beautiful architectural elements such as the curved kitchen cabinets, wordolf walls, crown mouldings, bay windows and fire place mantel pieces were individually painted separate colors. This was challenging in its multi color design and tedious attention to painting the details. In two rooms alone there were 15 different colors used, all of which had to be the perfect color and hue. 2. Installation of wood floors. A beautiful distressed antique wood flooring was installed in the kitchen, pantry, bathroom and large family room. This involved subfloor demolition, removal and replacement, and the detailed installation of wood flooring and moulding. The hard, back breaking work required a number of workers managed by Kevin. As a result, the work flow was systematically optimized and driven until the projects completion. Kevin was a relentless task master and has many skills as a talented worker. 3. Electrical rewiring of bathroom and hallway. The old wiring was faulty and insufficient and new wiring was pulled and replaced. All ceiling light fixtures, electrical outlets and switches were chosen and installed. A 3 way switch system was a necessity and was devised quickly and installed correctly to code by Kevin. This all required the knowledge and skill of a trained electrician. 4. Construction of exterior deck. This project involved much post production planning and design. Trek decking materials, sub deck foundations, metal piers, treated lumber of all sizes, and all the special screws and bolts needed to be estimated and purchased for this large construction project. Unlike a simple rectangular shape, this deck was complex in design with multiple angles, levels and steps. Cutting perfect angles and lengths of Trek decking were a necessity in order for this deck to turn out as provocative and beautiful as it did.
Robert repaired a wood fence that was rotting along its base due to years contact with the soil, moisture and weather. He also installed a thermostat controlled garage fan to vent out heat during the summer. He stopped by to survey the work and provided me a written quote. Outstanding work on both projects and completed them as promised. I would definitely hire him again for any future jobs.
Have known and used David for just about everything on my home for the last 12 years. He is the only person I trust to do the work correctly, in fact David goes beyond my expectations for quality of work. Some of the recent projects Dave has done: Hardwood Flooring in my Dining Room. New Hardy Plank Siding and Insulation on the Front of our home, Demo and replace the old Brick Fireplace with Cultured Stone, Repair, Treat and Repaint Front Fascia Boards, Install Upgrade Dual Pane Windows. I have some new home improvement projects planned for Fall 2015 and will use Dave again for those.
Mike remodeled my back porch to make it more like a cabana for the new pool & spa. Replaced siding, windows, and electrical. Installed new insulation, dry wall, ceiling fan, air conditioner, flooring and sliding glass door. Mike had great ideas that I never thought of. Turned porch from a yucky & uncomfortable storage area into a place for entertaining and relaxing. Friends and family love it as much as I do.

Rick acted as the main contractor/coordinator for repairs on our house following a kitchen fire. The included painting, repairs to walls, replacement of flooring/carpets that were damaged by smoke. Throughout the process Rick not only managed the process, did some of the work himself (he excels at tile and stone work), selected and oversaw sub-contractors, but also was great at making design and materials choices and suggestions. A great combination of workman's skills and an artistic eye, all at a very fair price.
The communication was perfect, the final project (a large one) came in exactly as quoted, and Carlos and his crew work FAST. The long version: I needed to gut the kitchen on a 2 story, 100 year old home which included removing 2 load bearing walls. It was extremely difficult to compare kitchen remodel quotes because the wall removal line items were all over the place or could not be determined by the various remodelers we met with. I decided to remove the walls before I got any additional remodel quotes. I found Skyline Framing on Craigslist, and then did my due diligence reading reviews and verifying they have a current license (for most projects I don't care about licensing, but you never want to take a chance with structural). I spoke to a few contractors, received a few quotes - Carlos thought of a few options the other contractors had not - but when comparing apples to apples he was charging 30% less than the next lowest quote, and because of his knowledge and professionalism I had no reservations about working with him. From the time I handed him the plans that were approved by the city, the entire job took 7 business days to complete (and keep in mind he had to go to the foundation and pour new concrete pads to support the new beams - and the job required 2 city inspections). These guys work FAST!
Gabriel Herrera did a wonderful job on our crown molding, chair rails, and hard wood floor installation. He was truly a professional and a perfectionist. He measures everything and leaves nothing to chance. He has all the tools for his trade and is neat and tidy. His prices are very reasonable and he does everything he says he will do. We love Gabriel!
I selected Mr. Agustin De Avila's quote after receiving 4 quotes from Thumbtack Handymen. The job was a simple rebuild of a 30' section of sagging/deteriorating wood fencing on property line with my neighbor. The job included removal and disposal of old wooden fence, installation of new fence and any necessary adjustments to gates. I hired Agustin on Tuesday the 16th of August. He started and completed the job on Thursday the 18th. We had agreed to have him begin the job at 8am on the 18th. He was actually 15 minutes early. He was well prepared with all supplies and necessary tools and was done by 4pm. I was able to view the progress of his work from demolition of old fence to adjustments of gates. Agustin had no problem with explaining, as he worked, why he was doing what he was doing. He was very detailed, knowledgable and careful in his work. Agustin's attention to details shows in the beautiful new fence. In addition, Agustin left the area cleaner than when he had started the job. I would have absolutely no problem recommending Mr. Agustin De Avila to anyone needing work done by an honest, qualified and extremely dependable handyman.
Mark and his crew did an outstanding job on my house. Mark is highly knowledgeable of every aspect concerning the installation and removal of siding. During the initial meeting for an estimate, he pointed out aspects of the process that neither of the previous companies bidding for the job ever mentioned. He was very competitive in his pricing and gave me a fair and honest assessment of how long the process would take. He was professional and prompt in both showing up on time and later submitting the estimate to me. His crew removed all of the old wood/masonite siding from my 1980s style house, including the rock fascia that adorned the pillars and below my front window. His workers made sure that they always had a meticulously clean work site after the work for the day was done and they were very knowledgeable of every aspect of the installation process. They were both very cordial and professional every day as they were working in consistent temperatures in excess of 95 degrees. They used laser line levels to make sure the siding was uniform on all portions of the house and they spent copious time making sure that the siding was installed properly and professionally. Mark and his crew also gave me updates as to how the process was going and to make sure I was a satisfied customer. As a young homeowner, my experience has been that many contractors will try to convince you to take a deal that expires within a few days or offer it at a semi-reasonable price, only to price gouge you in another. This is not the case with Excel Siding. Mark is straight forward and does not pressure you into making a decision. He wants to make the customer happy and satisfied. He and his crew take pride in their work and it definitely shows in the finished product. I highly recommend Excel Siding.
