Mobile Pet Spa came up as a result in a search on thumbtack in my zip code. They called me up immediately to notify me they don't service my area when they could have just ignored my inquiry so props to them for taking the time on a non-sale. They were professional and courteous on the phone and based on that I'd prob say they'd be worth checking out if you're in the area they service (farthest South is Venice). Seems like they'd be a good service to work with.

This is our first time appointment on Wednesday. So far Janet has been great with promtness answering questions and setting up our first experience with Golden Paws Mobile Spa. We agreed Mobile grooming would be good for all of us seniors if we could find the right one! It looks like Golden Paws Mobile Spa is our best choice, and we are now anticipating a happy furball!!

Contacted her off Thumbtack, She came right over to discuss what we were looking for in a sitter while out of town. While we were away she kept in contact with us daily and also went above and beyond her duties. We were extremely impressed and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for pet care.

Here at All Star Pet Resort, we offer full-service pet grooming, doggy daycare, and boarding. Please give us a call to make an appointment!

I offer pet entertainment for all ages. I have horse rides for all-size kids. I also provide animal training, a wrangler for movies, etc. I work on kids' parties, commercials, parades, etc., and I also have horses. I am equipped to bring them to various places too.

Whether you are looking for the best bath in town or the perfect clip, Manny is the one! Manny started as the apprentice to our previous, quite-popular groomer, Amanda in 2001. Manny repeatedly showed his talent as a groomer, and in 2005, when Amanda moved on from our employ, Manny attended the Wag My Tail Grooming School and graduated at the top of his class, and they wanted to keep him. Manny has trained several of our competent, conscientious grooming assistants to provide us with the ability to have excellent staffing 6 days a week. The grooming shop at Hollywood Dog Training School can be quite popular, so book your grooming in advance. In most cases, when dogs come in for grooming, we ask that they arrive between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., and they will spend some of the day with us until the go-home time that you arranged with us. Unlike the average grooming shop, dogs do not spend their whole time in a small cage or crate. We have dog runs dedicated for our grooming shop so that you your dogs can stretch their legs, have a place to eliminate, and get a drink of water. All of the baths we do here at Hollywood Dog Training School include a nail trim, cleaning the ears, and a full brush out. Our modern, state-of-the-art equipment allows us to do an unparalleled job; you won't believe the difference. We feature the HydroSurge bathing system for an amazing clean. We use a low=sodium, soap-free, sulfate-free, and no-perfume shampoo that leaves almost all pets itch free. Mighty wind dryers reduce brushing time drastically and make the brush out superior to doing the job with a brush alone. Most pets are finished with a light pet cologne that most clients love.

I provide amazing loving care for animals. I will get the job done and make sure that everyone is happy.

My experience. I have been working with animals for a very long time (25 years). I apprenticed for close to 10 years before taking on clients of my own. I take the profession very seriously and do about 100 hours of continuing education each year. Since I have so much experience to pull from I can look at the issue and know the steps needed to solve it. I also offer two approaches: 1. Very few private sessions. I give you the tools and knowledge and you do the bulk of the training. This keeps it very affordable. 2. One on one with the dog. We meet, discuss the goals and I work with the dog one on one. Then at the end I show you (or have videotaped it and send it to you) so that you can work with the dog.

I love animals. I have two cats myself, and I rescue. I would enjoy pet sitting. A once-a-week round would be great!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is included in a dog grooming?

Dog grooming is so much more than giving your dog a bath. Dog grooming is a broad term that covers all aspects of canine cleanliness and hygiene. The services included in dog grooming will vary based on your needs and what you choose to pay. Unless they are rolling in cowpies or playing in mud puddles, most dogs are okay getting a shampoo bath only as needed. You’ll know when they need it if they smell bad or are bringing dirt into the house. Some dogs, like shepherds and shih tzus, have thick coats that can get matted and tangled without regular care. Pro dog groomers can deftly blow dry a dog’s hair after a bath so that it is shiny and smooth. Dog grooming can include brushing that detangles dog hair and also thins the undercoat to minimize shedding.

Dog grooming also includes hygiene services such as toothbrushing and ear cleaning. Clean teeth are important to the health of your dog, and the pros have the patience and proper technique to get it done. Regular dog grooming can stave off tear stains, those reddish stains below your dog’s eyes. Anal gland expression is something not many people want to do on their own, even if they love their dog. A dog groomer can safely and efficiently release any blocked anal gland fluid. Other dog grooming services include nail trimming and clipping. Nationally, dog grooming prices range from $60 to $80. Most dog groomers offer discounts to customers who purchase monthly packages or bundle multiple grooming services at one time.

Do cats have to get groomed?

It’s not crazy to have your cat groomed. Grooming will keep your cat’s fur soft and silky as well as give you early warning about any health concerns. Regular grooming can also help reduce the volume of hair your cat may be shedding and keep your longhair kitty cool if you live in a warm climate. Professionals competently groom your cat and are trained to manage them if they resist being groomed, while you may get scratched doing the same task. The national average price for cat grooming is $50-$70. Pet grooming prices may vary based on the task. For example, a bath and brush for shorthair cats may be $15, $20 for medium-hair cats, and $25 for a longhair. Cat groomers can also keep your cat’s ears cleaned, trim their nails, and provide haircuts if needed. Average prices for haircuts can vary from $30 to $95 or more, depending on whether the cat is shy or aggressive and whether their coat is in good condition, matted, or otherwise difficult to groom.

    What is a dog groomer?

A dog groomer is a service professional who provides dog grooming and basic hygiene care for your dog. Dog groomers are typically animal lovers who are competent and comfortable working with a wide range of dog breeds and temperaments. Dog groomers are knowledgeable about the care needs for different kinds of dog coats. A poodle will have different haircut needs than a shih tzu, for example, so it pays to have a trained pro provide the proper cut. Good dog groomers know how to safely clean your dog’s teeth, bathe your dog, and cut their nails without going too short. They understand how to trim the hair from around your dog’s face, express anal glands, and clean your dog’s ears. Many people who choose dog grooming as a profession also pursue other dog services such as attending veterinary school, running a doggy day care center, working as a professional dog walker, and more.

    What is a dog groomer?

Keep your family dogs happy, healthy and clean with regular dog grooming. A dog groomer is a business owner or employee of a dog grooming business who specializes in dog hygiene and grooming. To find a reputable dog groomer, research reviews, ask for references and confirm that the groomer has good standing in the dog grooming community.

A dog groomer should be comfortable and competent working with dogs of all breeds and temperaments. Typically a groomer will have trained with other groomers and taken educational courses to keep abreast of the latest safety information and techniques. There are brick-and-mortar dog grooming businesses, as well as mobile dog groomers who bring all their equipment and provide their services at your home or location. In some cases, brick-and-mortar businesses will also pick up and return your dog for an additional fee.

How much should cat grooming cost?

Keeping your cat groomed is an important part of maintaining their good health. The national average cost for cat grooming ranges between $50 and $70, with prices varying based on where you live and the services you request. Your cat’s temperament can also affect grooming prices. Scratching and hissing during a groomer visit can raise rates an average of $5-$10, or more, as hazard pay. Larger cats and long-haired cats that take longer to groom will also usually cost more. Here are some examples of cat grooming average costs:

    • Shave down or lion cut: $35-$60. These cuts preserve the hair around the face and tip of the tail but shave down the entire body. The lion cut is often recommended for extremely matted hair is exceedingly matted, for extreme heat, or for cats who are suffering from hairballs.
    • Ear cleaning and nail trim: $30.
    • Nail trim: $10-$15.
    • Bath and nail trim: $45.
    • Bath and sanitary trim: $55. A sanitary trim clips the hair on a cat’s behind to prevent fecal matting in longhair cats or cats that have mobility issues.
    • Bath, blow-dry, brush out, nail trim and ear cleaning: $40.
    • Full haircut, bath, and nail trim: $45-$95, depending on matting.
