The Dishes are so flavorful and delicately put together. I can tell a lot of time goes into preparing the dishes. I think what I like most is that all the ingredients are top shelf, and its prepared food that I can not get anywhere else at this level of quality. It's above restraunt standards. Especially impressed by the fact that they can hit the mark on so many dietary specific needs and still make it taste amazing! Get the Asian pear muffins! Or any of her famous baked goods! They will not disappoint.
I highly recommend Blue Sage and Elham. I first became acquainted with Blue Sage when I took a cooking class that supported a charitable organization. Because I was so pleased with Elham, I asked her to cater my husband's birthday party which involved having several couples participate in the preparation of the meal. It was a fabulous and memorable evening.
I've had two memorable experiences with Andrea Cavaleri: one when I was a guest at a friend's birthday party; the other when I hosted my 45th birthday party. At my friend's party, Andrea served mainly Southern Italian dishesa combination of vegetarian and seafood pasta, salads and main dishes. And a couple of them had an Asian influence. Even the desserts were lovely. I particularly loved the panna cotta with fresh berries. Andrea's presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were fantastic. My own birthday was six months away, and I decided to hire him for my party. The menu I chosesimilar to my friend'sincluded mainly vegetarian and seafood dishes. Andrea arrived exactly at the time we agreed on, and he got right to work preparing for the party. Again, Andrea prepared every dish with care and pride. He's professional, friendly, clean, and respectful. I'll certainly hire him againhopefully before my 50th birthday. ;-)
Luisa was a patient and knowledgeable chef with me. It was my first cooking class and didn't know what to expect. My intention was to expand my 14 and 16 year old boys taste buds as well as learning healthy dishes for my wife and I. We prepared a delicious kale salad, broccoli soup, brussel sprouts, and a bolanese sauce for a spaghetti dinner with our boys. I defiantly will reach out to Luisa again for the next creation for my family. Thanks Luisa!!
My wife and I had a fantastic private cooking class with Teena. The recipes were delicious, and Teena is an amazing teacher. We strongly recommend taking classes with Teena, and will likely do so again.
Ulrike's bread baking workshop was excellent. I was always curious about sourdough and she provided not only an excellent introduction to baking bread but provided a sourdough starter and all the tips and tricks to do it in my own kitchen. I learned so much more than I ever could have reading a recipe or watching a cooking video. I highly recommend her class to anyone, including baking novices like myself.
Vanna is a wonderful caterer, and I am so glad I found her! I've been to many events that she has catered, and I love her range and variety of meals/foods. Her professionalism and food styling/presentation are also awesome!! It is really hard to find a great caterer who can prepare really great Asian/Asian fusion food but present the food in a more modern way, and we are so glad to have found Vanna! The great quality of ingredients should also be mentioned - everything is so fresh and of excellent quality. It really shows in the finished dishes. My favorite items are the herb and prawn salad, garlic noodles, fusion fajitas, egg rolls, tea leaf salad, anchovy salad, lasagna, curry, and so much more! Vanna also has hosted/catered a wide range of events, from corporate lunches, engagement parties, private dinner parties, to 24-hour hackathons! She is also a great multi-tasker and problem-solver. With any large party/event, there are inevitably problems that crop up, and Vanna always thinks on her feet and will resolve the issues that come up - This is someone you need on your side! Whatever catering needs you have and for however many people you need to feed, I know you can count on Vanna to help you exceed those goals and expectations! Taste the food; you'll be convinced! :)
I have now taken two Indian cooking classes from Meenu Bhasin. In the first cooking class she made chicken korma, lentils and a yogurt side dish. These dishes were about a medium level of difficulty to prepare. Meenu was very thorough in explaining and showing each step of the cooking process. She also included a list of all the ingredients and spices, and where to purchase them. In the second class we made chicken tikka masala, saag paneer and rice with vegetables. Meenu is very good at teaching the preparation and cooking process of each dish. She goes over the ingredients and the entire process very carefully. She also leaves plenty of time for questions and discussion. I really enjoyed taking her classes and learned a lot about Indian cooking. I strongly recommend her as a cooking teacher/chef.
I gave my adult daughter, Jenny, a cooking class with Cindy as a birthday gift. Cindy was flexible and able to find a time that fit Jenny's tight schedule. She talked to my daughter the week before the class to understand her skill level and what she wanted to get out of the time together. She customized the lesson to Jenny's request for what to learn (more interesting vegetable preparation and some vegetarian dishes). Cindy was extremely well prepared on day of class with all the ingredients purchased and the kitchen set up appropriately. Jenny enjoyed the lesson and made three full dishes and learned a sauce that will be extremely useful for many dishes. Jenny said the class would have been more useful if she (Jenny) had been better able to articulate what she wanted to learn and describe her skill level better. Our one suggestion for how to improve the experience is to have a fixed fee for ingredients ($40-50) that is on top of the class fee instead of line item detail and recording costs for each ingredient used as it was used. The line item detailing was tedious, wasn't known in advance, and made Jenny feel she needed to decide if each spice and oil was worth the cost. Also, there were no containers available to take home the prepared food at end of class unless an extra fee was paid. We suggest including the cost of containers in the supply fee. (Cindy did let Jenny borrow mason jars which we returned later- so it worked out. ) All in all it was a fun and worthwhile experience and a creative gift for an adult. We would go back to Cindy again for another class.

As soon as You arrive she has appatizers ready and waiting to get your tastebuds dancing with excitement for what is still to come. you will receive a hands on experience meeting new friends with a similar interest of vegetarian Indian food. Bring your reuseable containers, there will be food to take home and share with others. Not only will you fall in love with Southern Indian cuisine, you'll fall in love with Chef Veena.
Anita is knowledgeable and explains clearly any cooking steps. Its a pleasure to cook as she teaches and one gains a secure understanding of the recipe since she allows for the student their own thinking space and doesn't "hold your hand" too much.

Chef was super helpful with my knife skills and patient with me throughout the whole class. She was able to come to my house for a private cooking class for 4 and we had a personal menu. The event was so fun! Definitely would like to try this again!

My Indian cooking classes in the San Francisco Bay Area emphasize hands-on cooking, and help you overcome the challenges of cooking delicious Indian food in your kitchen at home. Classes are 2 to 3 hours long. You cook 2 to 4 dishes from scratch, using fresh ingredients that are organic, free of chemicals, and good for your health. At Thai Table Cooking Class, we offer everyone who loves Thai food to learn to how to make authentic Thai dishes from scratch, in their home kitchen. The cooking sessions are completely hands-on, encouraging them to practice Thai cooking techniques. Menus vary from home-style cooking to more exotic dishes. Our experienced Thai cooking instructors, Kanin and Goi, will explain all about the ingredients and conduct demos for all dishes. We offer cooking classes at your place or my place, depending on where you live. Private or full classes are taught for 1 to 10 people. The price depends on the number of students and class hours.
