FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My current pricing is based on lesson length, and sometimes.on driving distance to the student's home. I also negotiate discounted prices for multiple students at a single location and time slot, or multiple weekly lessons. Two half hour lessons back to back will be counted as a full hour. Fees are due monthly in advance, usually on the last lesson of the previous month. At this time, general pricing for regular weekly appointments is as follows: 30 minutes=$35 45 minutes=$45 60 minutes=$60
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Firstly I spend time talking with a new student about their goals and interests, and level of commitment to learning and practicing. In the process, I observe personality traits to help me relate to the person as a human being, as well as a student. I will talk with parents to learn as much as possible about a child.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied intensively with a concert pianist in my teens, learning technique and interpretation for classical repertoire. As an adult, I studied jazz theory, and began writing my own arrangements of standard songs. I have also found that my training in psychology and awareness of personality enhance.my work immeasurably.
