What does video production mean?
Video production includes several different stages of producing video content. The first stage is pre-production, which includes the planning stage, scriptwriting, and selecting cast and crew (if necessary). Production is the stage in which the footage is captured and filmed. Post-production encompasses all activity that takes place after filming, such as editing, adding effects and so on. A video production company may be able to help with one or more of these stages.

Tory was more than a videographer for my event; he became family. He spent the day with my wife and I as I had a few speaking engagements in San Diego. I live in NC so the whole city was new to me. He met us at the venue on time and was professional from the beginning. Then after the first stop, he traveled with us to the next location and took us to a neat lunch spot. He sat with us and gave us a nice history of San Diego. We had a great time. After the second location, we parted ways but stayed in touch. Then when the video was finished, the end product was hands down the best video highlight reel I've ever received. I was in awe. Overall amazing experience working with Tory.

I am a project manager for a COVID testing company and we needed an instructional video to be made on a very short time notice. I reached out to several professionals and Thumbtack and he was the first to answer. The prices were reasonable but the reason why I decided to work with him was because he was the only one that took an interest in my project by asking relevant questions before he gave me a quote. It really set him apart from other videographers who just threw me a quote without inquiring further about this project. Even though I could have hired someone who had more "experience" up on his portfolio, my gut feeling told me to go with Chauncy Smith Photography and I'm so glad I did!
A few days before the shooting was scheduled, he came by to scope out the lighting and props to make sure everything would be okay (TALK ABOUT DEDICATION). On the shooting day, he was responsive, came on time and very friendly. I could tell he truly loved his craft from the way he explained elements of videography and lighting. The lighting in our office where the video was filmed was very difficult to work with but he brought huge bags of equipment and lighting and meticulously set them up. He's definitely a perfectionist as he did not rush the process or gloss over imperfections and inconveniences. He really took the effort to work around every obstacle we had to create a perfect finished product.
After filming, a rough draft was ready in only a couple days and he was very responsive to feedback and changes and finished everything in a timely manner.
I absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a videographer/photographer. He provided the value of a director, cinematographer, camera crew, lighting crew and video editor all in one for a fraction of the price of a full production crew. You'd be hard pressed to find a better videographer on Thumbtack.
