Sarah - does a beautiful job face-painting. The kids loved her! She just came and got to work!
I took drawing lessons with Celia when I was in high school years ago. She really helped me improve my composition, sketching, and shading techniques, leading to more realistic and refined pictures. My parents were also happy because we added a bunch more art decor for the house! Celia is a great person all-around, and an amazing artist. I highly recommend her!
Gwynessa is a wonderful painter with years' worth of work to show for it. She has a whimsical outlook and a knack for patiently explaining difficult concepts — a rare combination that makes her a great teacher for young and adult learners alike!
Highly recommend Magic’s professional in protrait painting, Love his details and the way he captures peoples feature on the canvas is elegant and beautiful! Also the colors using just make the protrait painting to the next level.
My daughter is learning drawing and painting from Deepa and it has been an amazing experience. She has gone from knowing nothing about lighting and perspective to being able to do realistic still lifes that shock my friends to see were drawn by an eight-year old. Highly recommend her class.
I have worked with Sayaka for several years, and she has given me a lot of helpful advice on how to improve my painting and drawing skills. She offers me insightful feedback on my completed work, as well as encourages me to take on new projects that I would never otherwise consider. For example, I am more comfortable painting in acrylic, but Sayaka has inspired me to try oil, and since then, I have broadened my horizons and feel ready to take on new challenges. Thank you Art Journey for making my artistic journey that much more fun and adventurous!
Shelley has taught my 2 kids for 3 years since they were 3 and 5 years old. She is very talented in every kind of media. This was a fantastic opportunity for them to get creative at young age. She teaches with many kinds of mediums including clay, pastels, watercolor, charcoal, face painting, acrylic, balloons, and crafts etc. and introduced new project and theme every week. My kids have fun and a great learning experience. They are looking forward to their art lesson. They never get bored to learn with Ms. Shelley every week. She is kind, nice, funny, always smiling, and understanding. My kids have one hour lesson per week. After each lesson, Shelley always told me what they had accomplished their artwork that week. Sometimes, she assigned a light homework and my kids love to show her what they did during the week. My daughter enjoys the art lessons. She got award from Santa Clara County Young Artist showcase 2013. Her artwork will be displayed permanently at Santa Clara County Office of Education. We are so pleased with Shelley's teaching ability and professionalism and we highly recommend her as an art teacher to your kids or anyone who is interested in art and would like to improve the skills.
Claire is a talented and passionate artist, and I really love her painting. Other than the basic skills for oil painting, she inspired me to observe things in different perspectives and be a risk taker to experiment more in my piece. And it was a very unforgettable experience with her and the others to complete a mural together in my last summer holiday before graduate. Even though it was quite tough but her enthusiasm always encouraged us to go further and further. I am highly recommended her as a teacher and the experience with her was great :)
Bill is very intuitive and able to tailor the lesson to the needs of the student. He is proficient in many different mediums and allows the student to chose the medium as well as the subject matter. He gently guides the process, offers advice when asked and is able to offer constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement along the way. He is an excellent teacher.
I am an adult who wants to continue developing my painting ability & to find my true 'personal style.' Debbie understood immediately what I wanted to do & gave me suggested daily sketching exercises to begin this process of discovery. Debbie is an open & friendly woman with loads of artistic talent. I felt at ease with her from the start & I believe that she will be an effective coach for me as I move to a new, more focused level of making art. I encourage other adults who, like me, are self-taught to take themselves seriously as artists & to contact Debbie for direction in their own art journey. I know that making art has enriched my life for years; "investing" in a teacher like Debbie will no doubt add even more to its value in my life.
Katerina is a great painter and an art teacher! She teaches my daughter arts over a year and kid is loving it. I also been to couple of her art and wine workshops and had loads of fun. She also did some cool face painting at kids Birthday. So I would say she is flexible and extremely professional artist!
I love going to my art class with Shelley! She is extremely talented in all genres and mixed medias. She has taught me drawing techniques and watercolor painting all at a quality level. I learn so much and have progressed quickly in these areas I love to explore. I can recommend her highly.
Lucca is an absolutely incredible artist, person, and teacher. I had limited drawing and painting skills, and she taught me so much! I'm considering hiring her more!
Erin did a fabulous job for me . I recently moved to the Rocklin area and wanted a painting depicting the surrounding terrain. She knew exactly what I was talking about. We went back and forth with a few sketches, a preliminary and then the final product. It was beautiful. The painting has so much depth, and the sky is phenomenal. Can't say enough good things about my experience.
Paul Wood from Young At Art contacted me within hours, and was very prompt in communicating and answering all our questions. We were enrolled for art lessons within days.
I can't say enough wonderful things. I absolutely adore the canvas Shelley painted for me.
Attentive, easy to work with, fair and all-in price, and best of all we got a wonderful piece! 5/5 would highly recommend Zimou to paint your next event or portrait.
I've been drawing, sketching, painting and sculpting since I was old enough to hold a pencil. My work has been exhibited in galleries, given awards, and some years ago, I was privately mentored by an admissions officer (and successful fine artist) from the Cooper Union School of Art. But none of that really matters! Let's get together and draw, paint, or sculpt. I'll help you understand the pros, cons, and nuances of different media; how to look at your subjects as an artist; how to plan your compositions -- it all depends on what you want to learn. Let's have some fun.
My teaching stands out because I have much experience and patience with students of all skill levels. I am knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

About the instructor: Madeleine Fu (Chu Hsia) was born in 1922 in Beijing, China. She graduated from Hsin-Hua College of Art in Shanghai. She studied with several renowned masters. Among them was Te-Nien Fu who was famous for his calligraphy and paintings of pines, bamboos and plum flowers. They are symbolic in Chinese culture for elegance, humility and fortitude. Madeleine was so treasured a student that Te-Nien Fu encouraged and was delighted at the marriage of Madeline to his son Paul Fu. The Fu family was steeped in scholarly and artistic pursuit and had several generations of well-known artists. Madeleine and Paul both developed into noted young artists in Shanghai. They studied with Master Dai-Chiang Chang, one of the most sought after painters in China, famous for his large-scale landscape brush paintings. Madeleine and Paul came to the US in 1962 and opened Fus Art Studio in Mill Valley, CA. They have had many exhibits and demonstrations in the last 20 years in the Bay Area, including the De Young Museum's Asian Art Center.
