LOOK ME UP ON YOUTUBE FOR FREE LESSON VIDEOS; SEARCH FOR "GUITAR MAN ED" PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO READ SOME TESTIMONIALS FROM FORMER STUDENTS: I have taken lessons from Ed for about a month and I think he's an excellent teacher. I have been playing guitar for many years and taken lessons from several other teachers and Ed has me working on things that are helping me learn the theory that other teachers did not do. I find his approach very useful and it doesn't overwhelm. Plus he's willing to take the time to learn songs and solos that you want to learn, which adds an element of fun so you're not just learning and practicing theory and exercises. Ed is an excellent teacher, a nice guy, and a fun person to talk with. Highly recommended! Andy M./via Thumbtack.com It is an experience being Ed's student. Being in his presence is humbling, and he makes you learn guitar like it's no biggy! He teaches so well, that you fail to notice how much experiential knowledge is being shared to you. He is very enthusiastic, and I couldn't be happier. Rithesh K./via Thumbtack.com Ed Lanthier is a dedicated musician and guitar teacher in San Diego, CA. Ed has taught me music theory, guitar chord construction, and many songs. He keeps the learning experience light and fun. He provides carefully selected, easy to use learning materials. Ed quickly identifies where I struggle and finds ways to fix my issues. He keeps me motivated on my guitar journey with his enthusiasm and positive reinforcement. He is always on time for lessons and conducts himself in a professional manner. If you are considering taking guitar lessons from a professional teacher, do yourself a favor and give Ed a call. Tom Brown, Vista, CA Please allow this review to recommend Ed Lanthier as an excellent guitar teacher. I studied under Ed for over a year, and looked forward to every visit. Ed is well-versed in various styles of guitar, including rock, metal, blues, folk, etc. Ed has a thorough knowledge of music theory and an organized and compassionate way of teaching theory even to the beginner. He believes, and I feel correctly, that proper understanding of music theory is the foundation to proper, accurate, and interesting playing. He has several developed picking styles, be it flat picking or finger picking. He also has the patience and kindness important to a good teacher. Lastly, he will thoroughly learn a piece you pick out, and then slowly and clearly teach you to play it precisely. I can highly recommend Ed Lanthier as an excellent guitar teacher. Ron Carr, San Diego Ed is so patient with my beginner's fumbles. He's relaxed and he makes music theory easy to understand, which enriches my education. Studying with Ed you'll find a very knowledgeable musician with a gifted ear; he can teach any song you want to learn, in my experience. I highly recommend him as a teacher. Lynda Hague, San Diego

Guitar Man Ed is AMAZING!! He is a wealth of knowledge, a patient instructor and meets you comfortably at your level. He's great at encouraging you to expand and grow your musical journey, not just simply teaching chords. I'd recommend him 1000 times over.

Ed is a great guitar teacher whose enthusiasm can be contagious. He is clearly a skilled guitarist with a trained ear. He knows how to keep me motivated by keeping me working on a good balance between songs and music theory. He has been great for introducing me to different genres of music. I love that his teaching method does not require any books, etc. He draws up chord diagrams and music notes when necessary, which is actually more helpful because he walks me through it as he's drawing things up. He also encourages videotaping parts of lessons so that I can always go back and reference things that I miss. All around great teacher who I highly recommend!
